Flames' A.J. Greer: Not practicing Friday
Greer (flu) isn't at morning practice Friday.
The flu may be going through the Calgary dressing room as Walker Duehr is also missing with the illness. Greer is pointless in his last four games and has four goals, four assists and 41 hits in 25 games.

Flames' Walker Duehr: Sits out Thursday
Duehr missed Thursday's tilt versus Carolina with the flu.
Duehr missed practice Friday as well and his status versus New Jersey on Saturday is up in the air. The winger has a goal and three assists in 15 games this season.

Flames' Adam Ruzicka: Collects assist in win
Ruzicka logged an assist in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Ruzicka set up Connor Zary's game-tying goal in the third period. The helper was Ruzicka's second over the last three games. The 24-year-old center is holding down a fourth-line role at even strength as well as a spot on the second power-play unit, and it appears he's unlikely to get scratched in the near future. He's up to eight points, 24 shots on net and a minus-3 rating through 21 appearances, though his inability to stick higher in the lineup limits his fantasy value significantly.

Flames' Yegor Sharangovich: Sets up shortie
Sharangovich notched a shorthanded assist and a team-high four blocked shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Sharangovich took care of business defensively, and he set up Blake Coleman's game-winning tally midway through the third period. This was Sharangovich's second helpers over the last five games -- he's started to slow down on offense again, but he's playing a strong enough game all around to stay on the top line. The 25-year-old forward has 12 points (two shorthanded), 47 shots on net, 12 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating through 26 outings. He's unlikely to have much appeal in standard fantasy formats without an uptick in offense.

Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Stays hot with helper
Weegar notched an assist, five shots on goal, three hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Weegar's point streak is up to five games (two goals, three assists) after he helped out on defense partner Rasmus Andersson's third-period tally. The 29-year-old Weegar continues to impress with points in nine of his last 11 games. The defenseman has 15 points, 71 shots on net, 58 blocked shots, 41 hits and a plus-1 rating over 26 appearances. With the Flames leaning heavily on the top four, Weegar should continue to see significant minutes in all situations.

Flames' Nazem Kadri: Picks up helper Thursday
Kadri registered an assist and five shots on goal in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Kadri co-led the Flames in shots -- Blake Coleman (goal, assist) and MacKenzie Weegar (assist) also had five. Kadri had a bad game at the dot, winning just six of 22 faceoffs, but fantasy managers will be more impressed with his offense. He's earned eight points over his last 10 contests to help keep the Flames competitive in most games. Overall, the veteran center is at 17 points, 76 shots, 21 hits, 15 PIM and a minus-9 rating through 26 outings.

Flames' Rasmus Andersson: Finds twine in win
Andersson scored a goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Andersson sparked the Flames' comeback, getting them on the board at 5:42 of the third period. The 27-year-old has a goal and two assists over the first three games of December -- his offense has been steady despite a lack of power-play time. He's up to four goals, 14 points, 50 shots on net, 48 blocked shots, 21 PIM and an even plus-minus rating through 22 outings. He should continue to see plenty of ice time as head coach Ryan Huska leans on his top-four blueliners.

Flames' Connor Zary: Scores game-tying goal
Zary scored a goal in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Zary tallied at 7:03 of the third period to tie the game at 2-2 just 1:21 after Rasmus Andersson got the Flames on the board. The goal was Zary's second in as many games. The rookie forward has yet to go more than two contests without a point, racking up five goals, seven helpers, 22 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 16 outings in a second-line role.

Flames' Blake Coleman: Key in comeback win
Coleman scored a shorthanded on goal five shots and added an assist in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Coleman set up Rasmus Andersson's goal that sparked the comeback, then scored one of his own midway through the third to put the Flames ahead for good. The tally was Coleman's first special-teams point of the year, though he rarely sees power-play time. The 32-year-old has nine points over his last 11 outings, giving him seven goals, eight assists, 66 shots on net, 26 hits, 28 PIM and a plus-7 rating through 26 contests overall.

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Backstops comeback win
Wolf stopped 28 of 30 shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Wolf got off to an unfortunate start, giving up a pair of goals on deflections in the first period. From there, the reigning AHL MVP was dialed in, slamming the door and letting the Flames' offense take care of the rest in the final frame. The win was Wolf's first in three NHL outings this season and the second top-level victory of his career. He's allowed eight goals on 81 shots in 2023-24, and he could continue to challenge Dan Vladar for playing time while Jacob Markstrom (finger) is out. The Flames play a home matinee on Saturday before embarking on a three-game road trip that includes a back-to-back, so it's likely the goaltending situation will remain muddied through the team's travels.

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Between pipes against Canes
Wolf will tend the twine at home versus Carolina on Thursday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Wolf has made just two appearances in the NHL this season, posting a 3.67 GAA and .882 save percentage over that span. Until Jacob Markstrom (finger) is back, Dan Vladar should see the majority of the starts with Wolf serving as the No. 2 option, though any struggles by Vladar could open the door for Wolf to see additional playing time.

Flames' Ilya Solovyov: Snags first helper
Solovyov posted an assist and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Wild.
Solovyov had some forgettable moments in the contest, but he also picked up his first NHL point by setting up Connor Zary's third-period tally. This was Solovyov's third contest of the season. He has a chance to play on the third pairing with Nikita Zadorov traded to Vancouver, though Solovyov may have to battle with Dennis Gilbert and Jordan Oesterle to stay in the lineup.

Flames' Rasmus Andersson: Supplies assist Tuesday
Andersson notched an assist, three blocked shots and two PIM in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Wild.
Andersson has a helper in each of the last two contests after a three-game drought. The 27-year-old blueliner had the secondary assist on Mikael Backlund's second-period tally. Andersson still hasn't reclaimed his power-play role after being bumped off the first unit last week, but his offense is nonetheless heading in the right direction. For the year, he's at 13 points, 48 shots on net, 46 blocked shots, 21 PIM and a minus-1 rating through 21 outings.

Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Generates assist in loss
Weegar posted an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Wild.
The helper extended Weegar's point streak to four games (two goals, two assists). He's gotten on the scoresheet in eight of the last 10 contests but hasn't posted a multi-point effort since Nov. 1. The 29-year-old has arguably been the Flames' steadiest blueliner so far, racking up 14 points, 65 shots on net, 38 hits, 56 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 25 appearances.

Flames' Nazem Kadri: Produces assist in loss
Kadri notched an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Wild.
Kadri continues to be fairly steady with two goals and five assists over his last eight games. The 33-year-old helped out on Connor Zary's third-period tally, which briefly generated hope for a Flames comeback. Kadri is up to 16 points, 71 shots on net, 20 hits, 15 PIM and a minus-10 rating through 25 appearances in a second-line role this season.

Flames' Connor Zary: Finds twine in loss
Zary scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Wild.
Zary's effectiveness on offense has waned over the last couple of weeks. He went eight games without a goal, picking up four assists in that span, which is still solid work for a rookie thrust into a top-six role. The 22-year-old has four goals, seven helpers, 21 shots on net, six PIM and a plus-3 rating through 15 contests overall.

Flames' Mikael Backlund: Deflects in goal
Backlund scored a goal in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Wild.
Backlund got a piece of a MacKenzie Weegar shot and redirected it past Filip Gustavsson for the Flames' first goal. With four goals and an assist over the last six games, Backlund has been steady from his third-line role lately. He's up to 13 points, 61 shots on net, 16 hits, 11 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating through 25 outings overall. That's pretty close to his usual season-long pace, and he typically gets better as the campaign progresses.
