Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Bright spot in loss
Greaves made 31 of 32 saves in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Rangers.
Despite the loss, Greaves picked up second star of the game honors for his strong performance, allowing just one power-play goal in the second period. Across 11 games this season, the 24-year-old netminder has a 5-4-2 record with a 2.80 GAA and a .904 save percentage. After alternating starts with Elvis Merzlikins to begin the season, the Columbus coaching staff has begun to show its' trust in Greaves, who has started each of the last four contests. In his stretch of starts, he posted two games where he allowed one goal or less, but also two outings where he has allowed four goals or more. The young goaltender is trending upwards in fantasy hockey, especially if he begins to take more of the workload away from Merzlikins. Greaves is a solid stash in standard formats and has the volume to start in deeper fantasy leagues. His next chance to start is Monday against Montreal.

Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: On injured reserve
Jenner (upper body) was put on injured reserve Saturday.
Jenner's placement on IR is retroactive to Tuesday, which is when he was last in the lineup, but head coach Dean Evason cautioned Thursday that Jenner isn't out "short term," so it wouldn't be surprising if Jenner spends more than the minimum amount of time on IR. The 32-year-old forward has three goals, 10 points, 13 PIM, 30 hits and 13 blocks in 16 appearances this season. Luca Del Bel Belluz is seeing time on the top line due to Jenner's absence.

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Facing Rangers
Greaves will be between the home pipes versus the Rangers on Saturday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
Greaves has taken over as the Blue Jackets' No. 1 goalie, as he will be making his fourth straight start. Greaves is 5-4-1 with a 3.00 GAA and an .897 save percentage across 10 starts this season. The Rangers are 28th in NHL scoring, generating 2.67 goals per game, but they're much better on the road, finding the back of the net 36 times over 10 games.

Blue Jackets' Luca Del Bel Belluz: Collects first helper
Del Bel Belluz notched an assist and three shots on goal in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Oilers.
The helper was Del Bel Belluz's first point in four games this season. He's added five shots on net, five blocked shots and one hit while averaging just 9:58 of ice time. The 22-year-old, a natural center, is playing on the wing currently and will likely have a chance to work his way into true top-six minutes while Boone Jenner (upper body) is out.

Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Deposits goal in win
Mateychuk scored a goal and blocked three shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Oilers.
Mateychuk fired back after the Oilers tied the game at 2-2 in the middle of the second period, answering a Leon Draisaitl goal just 30 seconds later. Mateychuk has four points over his last six games and has looked decent in a top-four role for the bulk of this season. He's at four goals, seven points, 17 shots on net, 13 hits, 30 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 16 appearances. He won't score goals at this pace all year, but he should have no trouble surpassing his 13-point output from 45 games as a rookie last year.

Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Goal streak up to three games
Fantilli scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Oilers.
Fantilli has scored in three straight games and has six points over his last four outings. A move to a line with Kirill Marchenko and Dmitri Voronkov has fueled this uptick in Fantilli's production. For the season, Fantilli is at five goals, seven assists, 44 shots on net, 18 hits, 10 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 17 appearances. The 21-year-old center could be setting up for a breakout season, though he's currently at a pace roughly equal to the one that earned him 54 points in 82 appearances in 2024-25.

Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Two goals, three points in win
Olivier scored two goals and added an assist in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Oilers.
Olivier cracked the scoresheet after being held without a point across his previous six games, and the last time he did so, he notched four points in a 6-3 victory over the Maple Leafs on Oct. 29. Olivier has proven he can produce when given enough playing time, but his bottom-six role, and the inconsistencies he's had on a game-to-game basis, have limited his upside. He's not a player worth targeting in most formats due to the inconsistency of his production.

Blue Jackets' Charlie Coyle: Thrives vs. Edmonton
Coyle notched one goal and two assists in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Oilers.
Coyle ended a five-game pointless streak in style by making his presence felt on three of the team's five goals. Coyle has two multi-point efforts over his last eight games and eight points (two goals, six assists) over that span, but he's also failed to crack the scoresheet five times during that same stretch. The lack of consistency, as well as his bottom-six role in the lineup, dampens his upside.

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Earns second straight win
Greaves stopped 25 of 29 shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Oilers.
Greaves was beaten twice in the second period and twice more in the third, but he was able to hold off Edmonton's comeback attempt in the final moments of the game. The 24-year-old has started in each of the Blue Jackets' last three games and might be in a position to take over the No. 1 role from Elvis Merzlikins. Greaves has gone 2-0-1 with a 3.23 GAA and an .868 save percentage over those three games, however, so Merzlikins might still have a shot at seeing regular playing time if Greaves' numbers don't improve substantially in the coming games.

Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Back in action Thursday
Johnson will return to the lineup Thursday after being a healthy scratch Tuesday in Seattle, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
It was thought that Johnson missed Tuesday's game with an illness, but head coach Dean Evason said that was not the case. Johnson will replace Boone Jenner (upper body) in the lineup. Johnson is off to a mediocre start with two goals, three assists and a minus-eight rating in 15 appearances.

Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Facing extended absence
Jenner (upper body) is set for a stint on the sidelines after head coach Dean Evason told reporters Thursday, "It's not short term," Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.
Jenner has been off to a decent start to the 2025-26 campaign, registering three goals and seven helpers in 16 outings, including a pair of power-play points. With the 32-year-old forward on the shelf, Luca Del Bel Belluz will get a shot at a first-line role versus Edmonton on Thursday, but he will have his work cut out for him to maintain that spot in the lineup.

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Starting Thursday
Greaves will be between the home pipes versus Edmonton on Thursday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.
Greaves will make his third consecutive start as he looks to take over the No. 1 role with the Blue Jackets. He is 4-4-1 with a 2.89 GAA and a .901 save percentage across nine starts this season. The Oilers are averaging 3.00 goals, tied for 17th in the NHL.

Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Finds twine on power play
Fantilli scored a power-play goal on five shots in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout win over the Kraken.
Fantilli has two goals and five points over his last three games. The 21-year-old has been on the top line during that stretch, and he shattered his previous high for ice time with 22:54 in this contest. Fantilli also won just one of eight faceoffs, so he still has some improving to do in that area if he's going to be a top-line center. For the year, he's at four goals, 11 points, 40 shots on net, 18 hits, 10 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating across 16 appearances.

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Sharp in shootout win
Greaves stopped 22 of 23 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout win over the Kraken.
Greaves played both halves of the Blue Jackets' back-to-back. He was torched for five goals on 24 shots Monday in Edmonton, but he fared much better against the Kraken's pedestrian offense, earning his first win in his last three starts. This was also his first instance of starting consecutive games this season. Greaves is up to 4-4-1 with a 2.89 GAA and a .901 save percentage over nine starts. The 24-year-old has been fine for a middling team, but it's unlikely he'll fully pull ahead of Elvis Merzlikins in the competition for time in the crease. The Blue Jackets' next game is at home against the Oilers on Thursday.

Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Questionable with UBI
Jenner (upper body) is questionable to return to Tuesday's game versus the Kraken.
While he hasn't been ruled out, Jenner is dealing with an injury, which isn't good news for a team that's already battling an illness in its ranks. If Jenner is unable to return to Tuesday's contest, more information on his health should be available prior to Thursday's home game versus the Oilers.
