Predators' Reid Schaefer: Poised for call-up
Schaefer is expected to be recalled from AHL Milwaukee prior to Thursday's game versus the Bruins, Nick Kieser of Lower Broad Hockey reports.
Schaefer is part of a wave of call-ups to replace the three players the Predators dealt away Tuesday and Wednesday. Schaefer will likely contend for bottom-six minutes. He has six points in 27 NHL outings this season and 28 points in 31 contests in the AHL

Predators' Ryan Ufko: Set to be called up
Ufko is expected to be called up from AHL Milwaukee prior to Thursday's game versus the Bruins, Nick Kieser of Lower Broad Hockey reports.
The Predators traded Nick Blankenburg to the Avalanche on Wednesday, freeing up a long-term spot on the blue line for Ufko. In 50 AHL games this season, Ufko has stood out with 11 goals and 44 points. The 2021 fourth-round pick has developed well and will likely get a look in a bottom-four role initially, with the potential to take on more minutes if he adjusts quickly.

Predators' Fedor Svechkov: Called up Wednesday
Svechkov was called up from AHL Milwaukee on Wednesday, Nick Kieser of Lower Broad Hockey reports.
Svechkov is set to rejoin the Predators after the team dealt away Michael McCarron and Cole Smith. Svechkov could challenge for third-line minutes. The 22-year-old was limited to nine points with a minus-8 rating over 49 appearances this season before getting sent down to Milwaukee in late January.

Predators' Filip Forsberg: Strikes on power play again
Forsberg scored a power-play goal on three shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Forsberg has three goals over his last four games, and his last two tallies have come with the man advantage. The star winger is up to 27 goals, 50 points (18 on the power play), 190 shots on net, 107 hits and a minus-7 rating over 61 appearances this season. It's far from a peak year for Forsberg, but he's still a reliable goal scorer with a physical edge.

Predators' Viggo Gustafsson: Inks entry-level deal
Gustafsson signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Predators on Wednesday.
Gustafsson's deal starts in 2026-27. He has seven assists in 38 outings this season with AIK of HockeyAllsvenskan, which is Sweden's second-highest league. Nashville selected the 19-year-old defender with the No. 77 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Predators' Justus Annunen: Tough loss in Columbus
Annunen made 24 saves in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.
The Predators took a 2-1 lead into the third period, but goals by Sean Monahan and Charlie Coyle -- both of which deflected in off bodies in front -- flipped the script. The 25-year-old Annunen has been a decent backup lately, going 2-2-1 with a 2.65 GAA and .906 save percentage over his last five outings.

Predators' Christoffer Sedoff: Dealt to Nashville
Sedoff and a 2028 third-round pick were traded to the Predators from the Golden Knights in exchange for Cole Smith on Tuesday.
Sedoff is a 24-year-old defenseman who has yet to make his NHL debut. He has earned just four assists in 38 games with AHL Henderson, putting him on pace for the worst of his three years in the AHL. As such, expect the blueliner to report to AHL Milwaukee following the trade.

Predators' Ryan O'Reilly: Injured in Tuesday's game
O'Reilly sustained an injury to his face in the third period of Tuesday's game versus the Blue Jackets, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.
Head coach Andrew Brunette didn't have an update immediately after the game, but he expected to know more later in the night. O'Reilly's status should be updated prior to Thursday's contest versus the Bruins.

Predators' Justus Annunen: Tending twine in Columbus
Annunen will guard the road goal versus the Blue Jackets on Tuesday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.
Annunen is set for the second half of a back-to-back after Juuse Saros tended the twine in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Red Wings. Annunen's last start was a win over the Blackhawks last Thursday, in which he stopped 21 of 23 shots. The Blue Jackets are also playing for the second straight day after Monday's 5-4 overtime win over the Rangers.

Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Pots goal in Monday's loss
Marchessault scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Red Wings.
Marchessault's tally at 7:10 of the second period briefly put the Predators ahead 2-1, but that was where their offense stalled out for the game. The 35-year-old winger had been held scoreless for the previous two contests. He's now at 11 goals, 18 points, 95 shots on net, 53 hits, 24 PIM and a minus-18 rating over 41 appearances in a top-six role.

Predators' Filip Forsberg: Buries power-play goal
Forsberg scored a power-play goal on six shots in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Red Wings.
Forsberg has two goals on 14 shots over three games since the Olympics. The Swedish winger was hot before the break with 15 points over 11 contests. Overall, he's up to 26 goals, 49 points, 187 shots on net, 107 hits, 28 PIM and a minus-6 rating through 60 appearances.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Downed by Detroit
Saros turned aside 27 of 30 shots in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Red Wings, with Detroit's final goal getting scored into an empty net.
After a stellar showing for Finland at the Olympics en route to a bronze medal, Saros has returned to Nashville and been dragged back down by the team's defensive struggles. The veteran netminder has allowed at least three goals in 11 straight NHL outings dating back to Jan. 13, going 4-3-3 over that stretch with a rough 4.06 GAA and .877 save percentage.

Predators' Adam Wilsby: Deemed week-to-week
Wilsby (lower body) won't play against Detroit on Monday and is week-to-week.
Wilsby sustained the injury in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to Dallas. He has chipped in one goal, 11 assists, 47 shots on net and 37 blocked shots over 45 games this season. Justin Barron will replace Wilsby in Monday's lineup against the Red Wings.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Defending cage Monday
Saros will be between the pipes at home versus Detroit on Monday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Saros currently sits second in the NHL in starts (45), just two behind Utah's Karel Vejmelka. The 30-year-old Saros has been struggling of late, securing only one victory in his last six outings while posting a 1-1-3 record and 4.41 GAA. Even with Saros slumping, the Predators look poised to continue utilizing him in the crease as long as their playoff hopes remain alive.

Predators' Jordan Oesterle: Records three assists
Oesterle notched three assists in AHL Milwaukee's 4-3 overtime win over Manitoba on Sunday.
Oesterle was heavily involved in this win. He's earned nine assists during his seven-game streak, but he has gone 11 contests without a goal. The veteran defenseman is up to 31 points in 51 outings, but he's unlikely to be the first in line for a call-up if the Predators' defense needs reinforcements.

Predators' Reid Schaefer: Two goals in AHL win
Schaefer scored twice in AHL Milwaukee's 4-3 overtime win over Manitoba on Sunday.
Schaefer hasn't gotten a call back to the NHL after a brief stint with the big club prior to the Olympic break. The winger continues to play well for the Admirals -- he has 14 goals and 12 assists over 30 outings. The Predators are on the fringe of the playoff race, but it wouldn't be surprising for Schaefer to get a longer look with the big club if it falls out of contention.
