Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Will sign with hometown team
Silfverberg will sign a contract with Brynas IF of Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan league for the 2024-25 season.
Although Silfverberg will play his last NHL contest Thursday versus Vegas, the 33-year-old Swede will join his hometown team of Brynas IF for at least one season in 2024-25 before potentially hanging up his skates for good. Assuming he doesn't add to his totals Thursday, Silfverberg will finish his NHL career having racked up 168 goals and 373 points over 820 contests.

Ducks' Cutter Gauthier: Inks ELC
Gauthier signed a three-year, entry-level deal with Anaheim on Sunday.
Gauthier was selected fifth overall by the Flyers in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and his rights were flipped to Anaheim in the Jamie Drysdale trade earlier this season. In two seasons at Boston College, Gauthier dominated with 54 goals and 102 points through 73 games. The deal is expected to begin immediately and he could make his NHL debut in the Ducks' season finale against Vegas on Thursday.

Zellweger continues to look increasingly comfortable with two goals and four assists over his last seven contests. The 20-year-old has seen top-pairing usage in that span, which has likely helped him get more involved on offense. Zegras broke up David Rittich's shutout bid with a goal at 11:18 of the third period. With two goals and five assists over his last seven contests, Zegras has seemingly returned to form to close out 2023-24. The 23-year-old has 14 points, 72 shots on net, 30 PIM and a minus-2 rating through 30 appearances in an injury-riddled campaign, but his recent performance lends some optimism for 2024-25.

Dostal took his sixth loss in his last eight games, though the Ducks' lack of offense was once again a factor. The Ducks were all-around awful over the first two periods, and a rally in the third wasn't quite enough to bail out Gibson's poor play. The 30-year-old hadn't played over the previous five contests, but the time off due to an upper-body injury didn't help him shake his losing streak, which is now at seven games with a 5.61 GAA and an .836 save percentage in that span. Overall, Gibson has gone 13-27-2 with a 3.54 GAA and an .888 save percentage through 46 appearances in what has been a fifth consecutive disappointing campaign. Lukas Dostal is likely to start Saturday in Los Angeles, and it's unclear which goalie will get the nod for the season finale in Vegas on Thursday.
