Top Ducks News

  • Ducks' Pavol Regenda: Returning to minors

Regenda was demoted to AHL San Diego on Monday.

Regenda is still looking for his first point of the NHL season, having been held off the scoresheet in five appearances with the Ducks. Depending on the health of Mason McTavish (lower body), Ben Meyers could be in line to replace Regenda in the lineup against the Wild on Tuesday.

  • Ducks' Jackson LaCombe: Notches assist in loss

LaCombe recorded an assist, two shots on goal, two blocked shots and two PIM in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Blues.

LaCombe has played in six of the Ducks' nine games in March -- the additions of William Lagesson and Gustav Lindstrom have cut into his playing time. LaCombe snapped a four-game point drought with his helper on the first of Troy Terry's two goals Sunday. LaCombe is up to 13 points, 49 shots on net, 105 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a minus-26 rating through 58 appearances, and he's no lock to remain in the lineup the rest of the way.

  • Ducks' Alex Killorn: Pockets helper Sunday

Killorn posted an assist and three shots on goal in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Blues.

Killorn set up Troy Terry's goal in the final minute of the game. The helper ended a three-game slump for Killorn, who remained on the top line with the return of Leo Carlsson (concussion) for this contest. Killorn has 28 points, 106 shots on net, 55 hits and a minus-14 rating over 49 appearances this season.

  • Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Earns assist in return

Carlsson notched an assist, three shots on goal and two PIM in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Blues.

Carlsson saw 19:05 of ice time in his return from an eight-game absence due to a concussion. The 19-year-old was right back in his usual spot on the top line and first power-play unit Sunday. Carlsson is up to 24 points (eight on the power play), 82 shots on net and a minus-7 rating through 41 appearances in his rookie campaign. Fantasy managers can activate him safely, but while his role is good, his team situation is diminished following the trade deadline.

  • Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Allows four in loss

Dostal stopped 23 of 27 St. Louis shots during Sunday's 4-2 loss.

Anaheim's struggles extend to Dostal, even if he's had the occasional strong start here and there. He hasn't had a win in the last four games, allowing 13 goals in that span for an .841 save percentage. It's going to be hard to guess when he'll have a strong start given the state of the Ducks in general.

  • Ducks' Pavel Mintyukov: Rookie adds apple

Mintyukov posted an assist, along with three shots and three hits, in Sunday's 4-2 loss to St. Louis.

With three goals and 26 points on the season, Mintyukov is having a solid rookie campaign. He has scuffled lately, though, as he has no goals in his last 12 games, and Sunday's helper was only Mintyukov's third assist over that span. He's getting ice time and the production hasn't completely dried up, but Anaheim isn't scoring in droves, which makes it hard to depend on production from Mintyukov.

  • Ducks' Troy Terry: Scores a pair

Terry scored twice in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Blues.

After scoring 37 goals two seasons back, Terry has been unable to replicate that success. Sunday's goals ended an eight-game goal drought and raised his season goal total to 19. He's scored in fits and starts all year, as the eight-game drought isn't even his longest dry spell of the year; Terry went 17 games without a goal earlier this season.

  • Ducks' Radko Gudas: Unavailable Sunday

Gudas (upper body) won't play against the Blues on Sunday.

It will be the Ducks' second straight game without Gudas. He has six goals, 16 points, 124 PIM, 214 hits and 142 blocks in 60 appearances this year. Gustav Lindstrom is projected to remain on the second pairing due to Gudas' absence.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Out Sunday

McTavish (lower body) will miss Sunday's contest against St. Louis.

McTavish was also unavailable for Friday's 6-0 loss to Winnipeg. He has 17 goals, 40 points, 80 PIM and 56 hits in 56 outings in 2023-24. McTavish is expected to resume serving in a top-six role once he's healthy.

  • Ducks' Max Jones: Set to return Sunday

Jones (illness) is good to play Sunday versus St. Louis.

Jones missed three straight games because of the illness. He has five goals, 14 points, 31 PIM and 120 hits in 48 appearances in 2023-24. Jones will likely serve in a bottom-six capacity in his return, and Ben Meyers is projected to be a healthy scratch.

  • Ducks' Lukas Dostal: In net vs. St. Louis

Dostal will guard the road crease Sunday against the Blues, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Dostal will make his third start in Anaheim's last five games. He was sharp in his last outing, stopping 29 of 31 shots in a shutout loss to the Wild. Overall, the 23-year-old netminder is 10-18-1 with a .900 save percentage and 3.57 GAA this year. He'll face a hot Blues team that's riding a three-game winning streak.

  • Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Ready to rock

Carlsson (concussion) is expected to return to the lineup Sunday versus the Blues, per Lou Korac of NHL.com.

Carlsson is projected to occupy a top-six role and see power-play time after missing eight games. The 19-year-old rookie has nine goals, 23 points, 79 shots on net and 25 hits through 40 appearances this season.

  • Ducks' John Gibson: Crashes in Winnipeg

Gibson stopped 32 shots in Friday's 6-0 loss to the Jets.

Gibson kept things relatively close through the first 40 minutes, allowing only one goal in each of the first two periods, but the final frame was an utter disaster for the Ducks. The 30-year-old netminder has coughed up six goals in three straight starts, and his season has gone completely off the rails since he posted a shutout in Ottawa on Feb. 15 -- over his last eight outings, he's gone 2-4-1 with a ghastly 5.06 GAA and .851 save percentage.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Dealing with lower-body injury

McTavish is a late scratch for Friday's game against Winnipeg because of a lower-body injury.

McTavish has 17 goals and 40 points in 56 contests this season. He missed two games from March 3-6 because of a lower-body issue, but it's not clear if he's dealing with the same injury or a new problem. Anaheim will dress seven defensemen Friday, including William Lagesson, who was a healthy scratch for the Ducks' loss to the Wild on Thursday.

  • Ducks' John Gibson: Set to start Friday

Gibson is expected to start on the road against Winnipeg on Friday, per Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press.

Gibson will attempt to rebound after allowing 12 goals on 62 shots (.806 save percentage) over his past two contests. He's 13-22-2 with a 3.31 GAA and an .893 save percentage in 41 outings in 2023-24. Gibson might have a difficult time against the Jets, who are 19-10-3 on the road this year.

  • Ducks' Max Jones: Remains unavailable Friday

Jones (illness) will miss Friday's contest against Winnipeg, Derek Lee of The Sporting Tribune reports.

It will be Jones' third consecutive absence due to the illness. He has five goals and 14 points in 48 outings in 2023-24. The Ducks are also missing forwards Mason McTavish (lower body), Brock McGinn (upper body), Leo Carlsson (concussion) and Trevor Zegras (ankle), so Anaheim will dress seven defensemen versus the Jets, including William Lagesson, who was a healthy scratch for Thursday's 2-0 loss to Minnesota.
