  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Inks deal with Cleveland

The Browns and Foreman agreed to a contract Wednesday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports. After an injury-riddled start to his career, Foreman has carved at a role in three different backfields over the last three campaigns, averaging 54.4 rushing yards per game and racking up 12 touchdowns on the ground in 35 appearances between the Titans, Panthers and Bears. With his new team, he could get in the act early on if Nick Chubb's recovery from a serious knee injury delays his 2024 season debut, but Jerome Ford likely still would be the team's top back in that scenario.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Healthy scratch to close season

Foreman (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Packers. Foreman will thus close out his first Bears campaign as a healthy scratch on consecutive weeks and having missed the last three games overall since he also sat out Week 16 due to a personal issue. On the season, the veteran rushed 109 times for 425 yards and four touchdowns while adding 77 receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown as a receiver. Foreman is now an unrestricted free agent who should be able to secure a backfield committee role.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Healthy scratch for Week 17

Foreman (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Falcons. Foreman was inactive for last week's win over Arizona due to personal reasons and will be in street clothes again Sunday while Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson split backfield duties. With Herbert and Johnson banged up earlier in the season, Foreman had a strong stretch from Weeks 6-10, totaling 81 rushing attempts for 351 yards and three scores while securing seven catches for 47 yards and an additional score. Barring an injury to Herbert and/or Johnson, it'd be surprising to see Foreman available for Chicago's regular-season finale in Green Bay next week.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Practices fully Wednesday

Foreman (personal) was a full practice participant Wednesday. Foreman missed this past Sunday's win over the Cardinals due to a personal matter, which allowed Khalil Herbert to dominate the Bears backfield to the tune of 21 touches for 121 yards from scrimmage and one rushing touchdown on a 51 percent snap share. Meanwhile, rookie Roschon Johnson had 12 touches for 53 total yards on 46 percent of the snaps. With Foreman back in the saddle Wednesday with no practice limitations, his presence may throw a wrench into the breakdown of reps between the trio Sunday against the Falcons.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Unavailable Sunday

Foreman (personal) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Cardinals. Foreman made a mid-week appearance on the Bears' Week 16 practice report Thursday as a non-participant due to a personal matter. He then returned to drills one day later as limited but still entered the weekend as questionable for Sunday's contest. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Sunday morning that Foreman wasn't in line to play, and that has come to fruition. With Foreman out, Chicago's backfield will be manned by the combo of Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Expected to miss Sunday's game

Foreman (personal), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, isn't expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Foreman returned to practice as a limited participant after missing Thursday's session due to a personal matter, but despite not being listed with any health-related issue, the veteran running back isn't expected to suit up against Arizona. His expected absence provides a clearer path to Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson to dominate Chicago's backfield opportunities. Official word on Foreman's status will arrive with the release of the Bears' inactive list 90 minutes ahead of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Sleeper RBs

Foreman was bad in Week 15 at Cleveland with six carries for minus-6 yards, and he split touches with Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert, with Johnson leading the Bears in snaps. But I'll go back to Foreman as a flex option in Week 16 against the Cardinals, who are No. 2 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. This could be a huge week for Foreman if he remains the No. 1 option in Chicago's backfield. As for Johnson, he's coming off a productive game against the Browns in Week 15 with five carries for 36 yards and four catches for 24 yards on six targets. He's also worth using as a flex option in deeper leagues. I would mostly ignore Herbert, but the matchup makes him worth a flier in deeper leagues. In his past two games, he only has nine carries for 16 yards and one catch for 4 yards on one target.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Questionable due to personal matter

Foreman (personal) returned to practice Friday as a limited participant and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Foreman rejoined the team after missing Thursday's practice, but the Bears apparently weren't willing to clear him for full activity. Typically, a player who appears on the injury report with a non-health-related issue would either miss practice or participate without restrictions, making Foreman's "limited" tag somewhat confounding. In any case, Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson will take on larger shares of the backfield workload if Foreman ends up inactive ahead of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. Johnson handled the most snaps and touches among Bears running backs in last week's loss to Cleveland, but Foreman led the way in both categories in the teams' Week 14 win over Detroit.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Sneaky Sleeper (Lineup Decisions)

Foreman has alternated drives with Khalil Herbert over the past two weeks with both giving way to Roschon Johnson on third downs and obvious passing situations. The fun wrinkle is that Foreman has played on 7 of a possible 10 snaps inside the 10-yard line, giving him a discernible edge to scoring. Not only has Arizona let up 5.7 yards per rush in its past four games, but in those games they rank last in run rate of 10-plus yards allowed (17.3%), meaning they're giving up a big run more than once every six rush attempts! They also have allowed two rushing touchdowns in 20 red-zone plays, which isn't the best ratio in the world but it's still evidence that running backs can score in bunches against them. His sharing with Herbert and Johnson does keep Foreman's ceiling pretty low, but he's still worth using in Fantasy over both Browns RBs, Antonio Gibson and Najee Harris.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Foreman was bad in Week 15 at Cleveland with six carries for minus-6 yards, and he split touches with Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert, with Johnson leading the Bears in snaps. But I'll go back to Foreman as a flex option in Week 16 against the Cardinals, who are No. 2 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Negative yardage in loss

Foreman lost six yards on six carries in the Bears' 20-17 loss to the Browns on Sunday. Foreman started the contest as the lead back, but after being ineffective, Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson handled most of the remaining snaps. Going forward, this will likely be a difficult backfield to handicap in terms of predicting usage. The uncertainty makes Foreman a very risky fantasy play over the remaining weeks of the season.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Week 15 Waiver Priority List

Foreman returned from his one-game absence with an ankle injury in Week 14 against Detroit and led the Bears with 13 total touches (two catches on three targets) and played 55 percent of the snaps. Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson combined for four total touches against the Lions, so Foreman is clearly the No. 1 option in Chicago's backfield for now. He had 72 total yards against Detroit, which is a tough matchup, and he gets another difficult opponent in Week 15 at Cleveland. But then Foreman faces Arizona in Week 16, which could make him a starter in all leagues. Consider Foreman just a flex against the Browns, but he should be added in all leagues.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Returns as lead back

Foreman rushed the ball 11 times for 50 yards in Sunday's 28-13 win over the Lions. He added two receptions on three targets for 22 yards. Foreman returned from a one-game absence to lead the Chicago backfield with 13 total touches, as compared to three for Khalil Herbert and only one for Roschon Johnson. However, his volume was still limited by designed rushes for Justin Fields, who totaled 12 carries in the game. Foreman looks to have reliable volume moving forward, but his time of seeing 15 to 20 carries in a contest is also likely over, meaning he'll need to find the end zone or rip off several long runs to deliver big performances.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Week 15 Early Waiver Targets (Add/Drop)

If you can't get your hands on Chandler or Elliott, Foreman is probably the next best thing at the running back position if you need a starting option in Week 15. Foreman came back from his ankle injury and was the lead rusher for the Bears (I mean, besides Justin Fields). Khalil Herbert had just three carries, while Roschon Johnson had just one, so Foreman's 11 were the clear tops in the backfield. It's still a bit of a three-way split, but Foreman was the only back to be targeted in the passing game, too. Foreman played 37 of 66 snaps, while Johnson handled 18 and Herbert played just 11, the first time Foreman has been the clear lead back when everyone is healthy. It doesn't necessarily make him a must-start back, but he's probably gonna be in the top-24 range next week, even in a tough matchup against the Browns.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Puts ankle injury behind him

Foreman (ankle) was a full participant in practice Wednesday. Foreman sat out the Week 12 win over Minnesota after injuring his ankle in Week 11 against Detroit, but Chicago's Week 13 bye has afforded the running back enough time to regain health. Prior to going down with the injury, Foreman had been splitting backfield reps with Khalil Herbert in the game against the Lions. Rookie Roschon Johnson then ended up pacing the backfield in touches in Week 12, making it difficult to predict how the reps may be divvied up among Foreman, Herbert and Johnson in the rematch with Detroit this Sunday.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Ruled out for Week 12

The Bears downgraded Foreman (ankle/shin) to out for Monday's game at Minnesota, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports. Foreman made an early exit from last Sunday's loss at Detroit due to a right ankle injury. He proceeded to be listed as a non-participant on Thursday's practice report due to ankle and shin injuries before logging back-to-back limited practices to cap Week 12 prep and being given a doubtful designation for Monday's contest. With his lack of availability confirmed, Foreman will yield complementary RB reps to Roschon Johnson and Travis Homer behind Chicago's top option Khalil Herbert.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Deemed doubtful

Foreman (ankle/shin) has drawn a doubtful designation ahead of Monday's matchup with the Vikings, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Barring a positive turn of events in the next two days, Foreman appears to be trending toward missing Monday Night Football. Should that indeed be the case, Khalil Herbert would presumably draw lead-back responsibilities, while Roschon Johnson would be the No. 2 option in the backfield. Still, final confirmation on Foreman's status is unlikely to be confirmed until Monday.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Turns in limited practice

Foreman (ankle/shin) was a limited participant in Friday's practice. While the Bears held a walk-through workout Thursday for their first Week 12 practice, Foreman was estimated as a non-participant, but he was able to get back on the field in some capacity for a more traditional practice session Friday. If Foreman can maintain limited activity Saturday or upgrade to full participation, he should have a good chance at being available Monday against the Vikings. The right ankle injury knocked Foreman out early in the Bears' Week 11 loss to the Lions, enabling Khalil Herbert to pace the backfield with 16 carries in his return from a five-game stint on injured reserve. Herbert gained just 35 yards on his 16 carries, however, so he might not have done enough to separate himself from Foreman in the battle for lead ball carrier duties. If both Foreman and Herbert are available Monday, it would be difficult to gauge which of the two might be in line for the bigger workload on the ground.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Listed as DNP on Thursday

Foreman (ankle/shin) didn't participate in Thursday's walkthrough. Foreman welcomed back Khalil Herbert to the Bears backfield this past Sunday at Detroit, but the former lasted only one half before he departed with a right ankle injury. The Bears listed both ankle and shin for Foreman as the cause of his DNP on Thursday, so his issue may be a bit more expansive than originally thought. Still, he'll have two more chances this week to log some activity, estimated or real, before the team potentially makes a ruling on his availability for Monday's game in Minnesota.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Suiting up in Week 11

Foreman (ankle) is listed as active Sunday at Detroit. An ankle injury limited Foreman to a trio of capped practices during Week 11 prep, and while he entered the weekend as questionable for Sunday's game, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reported Saturday that the running back was slated to suit up. With Khalil Herbert (ankle/shin) also back in action for the first time since Week 5 following an IR stint, the breakdown of the Bears backfield is in flux. Foreman handled 88 touches during Herbert's absence, and the latter averaged 5.3 yards per carry this season before getting injured. A timeshare between the two may be implemented to ensure neither player is too taxed coming off of health concerns.
