  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Enters free agency

Goodwin finished the 2023 season with four catches (on 13 targets) for 67 yards over 12 games. Goodwin dealt with blood clots during the preseason and a November concussion, but he never became the expected deep threat when healthy, save for a 57-yard catch that was big in a come-from-behind victory over Chicago. Quarterback Deshaun Watson's shoulder injury blew up Cleveland's passing game, so Goodwin's minimal impact should be viewed under that light. Goodwin's signing seemed like a good fit at the time, and the wideout-needy Browns could bring back the unrestricted free agent for 2024.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Ready to play

Goodwin (knee) no longer has an injury designation for Saturday's game against the Texans, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Goodwin started the week limited in practice after missing the Browns' Week 18 loss to the Bengals, but he was able to get in a full session Thursday. With Cedric Tillman (concussion) already ruled out for the matchup, Goodwin will likely operate as the team's No. 4 option at receiver and main depth threat when they take the field Saturday against Houston.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Still limited at practice

Goodwin (knee) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. With just one day of practice left before Saturday's game at Houston, Goodwin's availability for the wild-card round is still in doubt. Unless he's able to practice in full Thursday, he will probably carry an injury designation into Friday and potentially gameday.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Still dealing with injury

Goodwin (knee) logged a limited practice Tuesday. Goodwin has been dealing with a lingering knee issue, which he was able to play through in Week 16, but it forced him to miss the team's 17 loss to the Bengals. He'll work to ramp up his activity level in practice Wednesday and Thursday, before the team heads to Houston, and increase his chances of suiting up against the Texans in their wild-card matchup Saturday.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Not playing Sunday

Goodwin (knee) is inactive Sunday against the Bengals. Goodwin played through the injury in Week 17, but he'll ultimately get the team's regular-season finale off. It's not clear if he aggravated the injury further, or if the team is taking a cautious approach with a playoff spot already wrapped up. He'll work to return next weekend during the wild-card round.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Questionable for Sunday

Goodwin (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game at Cincinnati, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Goodwin was able to play through his knee injury in Week 17, so he's likely on the probable end of the official questionable designation. If he can't play Sunday, though, it could mean more outside reps for James Proche.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Questionable for Thursday

Goodwin (knee) is questionable for Thursday's game versus the Jets, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Goodwin is in danger of missing his fifth game of the season in Week 17, this time due to a knee injury. If he can't go Thursday, James Proche could be in line to see increased reps on the boundaries.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Limited at Tuesday's practice

Goodwin (knee) was a limited participant at practice Tuesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Goodwin's availability for Thursday's game versus the Jets appears to be in jeopardy due to a knee injury. If he can't upgrade to full participation Wednesday, he'll probably carry an injury designation into Thursday.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Limited Monday

Goodwin logged a limited listing on Monday's practice estimate due to a knee injury, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Goodwin presumably picked up the injury in Sunday's 36-22 win over the Texans. He was on the field for nine offensive snaps (12 percent) in the contest and failed to bring in his only target. His status will need to be followed as the week goes on, but James Proche and David Bell would be candidates to see a few more snaps at receiver if Goodwin cannot give it a go Thursday versus the Jets.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Returning Week 14

Goodwin (concussion) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports. Goodwin had missed Cleveland's last four games with a concussion, but after a full practice session Friday, he also appears to have passed the final phase of the protocol for head injuries by gaining clearance from an independent neurologist. The 33-year-old wideout made eight appearances for the Browns this season, catching three of his 11 targets for 10 yards.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Returns to limited practice

Goodwin (concussion) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. The speedy wideout's potential return comes at a good time for Cleveland, with receiver Amari Cooper in concussion protocol and strong-armed Joe Flacco potentially starting at quarterback. Goodwin missed the past four games while in the protocol, and he's unlikely to handle a typical starter's workload even if he does make it back for Sunday's matchup with Jacksonville.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Missing Week 13

Goodwin (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Rams, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. The 33-year-old wide receiver is in line to miss his fourth consecutive game Sunday, as he continues to recover from a concussion. Goodwin has appeared in eight games for the Browns this year, catching three of his 11 targets for 10 yards while playing 84 total snaps (all on offense). With Goodwin missing Sunday's contest, David Bell and James Proche could very well see increased opportunities in Cleveland's WR room.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Misses practice Wednesday

Goodwin (concussion) will not participate at practice Wednesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Goodwin sat out of Sunday's loss at Denver due to a concussion, which he's still dealing with to start the Browns' new week of practice. He'll likely need to return to practice Thursday or Friday to have a chance to play in Week 13 at the Rams.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Remains sidelined Week 12

Goodwin (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Scott Petrak of The Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Goodwin will miss a third consecutive game. He remains in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol and has yet to resume practicing. The speedy wide receiver's next chance to suit up will come Dec. 3 against the Rams.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Still not practicing

Goodwin (concussion) remained sidelined at practice Friday, Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram reports. Since participating in practice is a requirement of clearing the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, Goodwin will almost certainly remain unavailable Sunday against the Steelers, leaving rookie Cedric Tillman as Cleveland's No. 3 wide receiver behind Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore in an offense that will be quarterbacked by Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Official confirmation of Goodwin's status will come when the Browns release their Week 11 injury report later Friday.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Out this week

Goodwin (concussion) won't play Sunday against the Ravens, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. The same applies to David Bell (knee), which sets the stage for Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman to lead the Browns' Week 10 WR corps. In eight games this season, Goodwin has been limited to three catches on 11 targets for 10 yards.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Ruled out with concussion

Goodwin won't return to Sunday's game against the Cardinals after exiting in the third quarter following a concussion evaluation, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. He failed to record any receptions on two targets prior to his exit. Goodwin sustained the head injury after he appeared to take a shot to the helmet from a defender while he attempted to haul in a third-down pass from Deshaun Watson during the Browns' first possession of the second half. With David Bell (knee) inactive for the contest and Donovan Peoples-Jones having been shipped to Detroit ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline, the Browns are left with Cedric Tillman and James Proche as their depth options at receiver behind starters Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Moves up depth chart

Goodwin moved up a spot on the depth chart after the Browns traded Donovan Peoples-Jones to the Lions on Tuesday, Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland reports. The loss of Peoples-Jones doesn't open up many targets for others -- he had just 18 over seven games -- but he was on the field more than any other Cleveland wide receiver. Following the trade, the top three receivers in terms of snap count are Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore and Goodwin. David Bell and Cedric Tillman fill out the position group. While Goodwin has just three catches (nine targets) thus far, he's expected to be on the field more than the 11 snaps per game he's averaged to this point in the season.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Active for Week 8

Goodwin (back) isn't among Cleveland's inactives for Sunday's game against Seattle. Goodwin came into the weekend with a questionable tag after logging two DNPs during Week 8 prep, but he was able to practice in a limited fashion Friday and will be able to suit up to face his former team Sunday. The veteran wideout has played a limited role on offense for Cleveland this season, tallying three catches on nine targets for 10 yards while adding 28 rushing yards on three carries.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Questionable against former team

Goodwin (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports. Goodwin was spotted at practice Friday after sitting out entirely Wednesday and Thursday, so he seems to be progressing in his recovery from a back injury. Still, the receiver's Week 8 status remains up in the air and likely won't be determined until the Browns release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff.
