Until Moore receives meaningful playing time, Fantasy managers shouldn't bother adding him to their rosters.

  • David Moore: Gets practice squad opportunity

The Buccaneers signed Moore to their practice squad Wednesday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports. Moore was surprisingly left off the 53-man roster Tuesday despite a solid preseason in which he recorded eight receptions for 123 yards. The veteran will reside on the practice squad for the time being, and he serves as a solid insurance policy in case any of the trio of young players that beat him out for roster spots -- Trey Palmer, Deven Thompkins and Rakim Jarrett -- don't prove up to the task once the regular season begins.

  • David Moore: Cut by Tampa Bay

The Buccaneers released Moore on Tuesday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports. Moore put together a respectable 8-123-0 line on 12 targets in three preseason games, but the six-year veteran lost out on a depth wide receiver spot to 2023 sixth-round pick Trey Palmer, Deven Thompkins and rookie UDFA Rakim Jarrett. Moore's last impactful season came in 2020 with the Seahawks when he registered 35 catches for 417 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games. He'll look to catch on elsewhere once he clears waivers.

  • Buccaneers' David Moore: Solid finish to preseason

Moore secured three of four targets for 39 yards in the Buccaneers' 26-20 preseason win over the Ravens on Saturday night. Moore was the runner-up in receptions and receiving yards on the night for the Buccaneers while also tying for second in targets. Additionally, the veteran journeyman's 25 snaps were behind only Rakim Jarrett's 32 with respect to Tampa Bay's wideouts. Moore's 8-123-0 line on 12 targets over three exhibitions seemingly locks him into a reserve receiver role, although whether the coaching staff will opt to go with him or a pair of faster but less experienced players in Deven Thompkins or rookie Trey Palmer in the No. 3 receiver job remains to be seen.

  • Buccaneers' David Moore: Pair of catches in preseason win

Moore secured two of four targets for 18 yards and fumbled once but recovered in the Buccaneers' 13-6 preseason win over the Jets on Saturday night. He also returned one punt for no gain. Moore had a relatively quiet night overall while the player who might well be his primary competition for the No. 3 receiver job, Trey Palmer, flashed again with a 33-yard touchdown grab. However, the veteran, who led the team in targets, was reasonably productive overall, and given his experience edge over Palmer, Moore could potentially emerge as the victor in the job battle if he puts together an impressive enough effort in Saturday night's home preseason finale against the Ravens.

  • Buccaneers' David Moore: Could benefit from Gage injury

Moore could be in line for increased snaps and targets in the wake of the season-ending knee injury Russell Gage suffered in a joint practice with the Jets on Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler and Jenna Laine of ESPN.com report. Gage logged 70 targets, including 18 in the red zone, over 13 regular-season games last season, although that also came with Tom Brady at quarterback and both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin missing games due to injury. Nevertheless, Moore, who recorded three catches for 66 yards on four targets over 24 snaps in the preseason-opening loss to the Steelers, is now poised to benefit to some degree if he sticks on the active roster. Moore may arguably even have the inside track to the No. 3 receiver role vacated by Gage; despite the fact he hasn't caught a regular-season pass since 2020, he's still exponentially more experienced than his presumptive primary competitors for the job, rookie Trey Palmer and second-year pros Deven Thompkins and Kaylon Geiger.

  • Buccaneers' David Moore: Makes strong impression Friday

Moore brought in three of four targets for 66 yards in the Buccaneers' 27-17 preseason loss to the Steelers on Friday night. Moore led the Buccaneers in receiving yards by a fairly wide margin, thanks in large part to a team-long 38-yard grab. The veteran journeyman has operated under the radar to a large degree thus far this summer, but after last catching a regular-season pass in 2020 with the Seahawks, Moore may have taken a big first step toward claiming a spot somewhere below the top three slots on Tampa Bay's wide receiver depth chart.

  • David Moore: Released from injured reserve

The Bears released Moore (lower leg) from injured reserve Saturday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Moore was slated to miss the entire 2022 campaign after landing on injured reserve, but he'll now have a chance to play again this season after he clears his current injury. The 2017 seventh-round pick caught 78 passes for 1,163 yards and 13 touchdowns during a three-year stretch in Seattle, but he appeared in just three games last year -- two with Denver and one with Green Bay.

  • Bears' David Moore: Placed on injured reserve

Moore (lower leg) was placed on IR on Sunday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports. Moore was carted off the field during practice Aug. 9. The 27-year-old's absence for the 2022 season is another blow to the Bears' wide receiver corps, who will already start the season without N'Keal Harry (ankle), while Byron Pringle (quadriceps) has also missed time.

  • Bears' David Moore: Carted off practice field

Moore was carted off the field after suffering an apparent lower body injury during 1-on-1 drills Tuesday, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports. Moore reportedly had difficulty putting weight on his right leg. The timing of the injury, especially if it is ultimately deemed significant, is brutal for Chicago's already-thin wide receiver corps. N'Keal Harry is believed to be nursing a high-ankle sprain, while Velus Jones (undisclosed) and Byron Pringle (quadriceps) have also sat out recent practices. As Saturday's preseason opener against Kansas City approaches, the top healthy options behind Darnell Mooney are Equanimeous St. Brown, Dazz Newsome, Dante Pettis and Tajae Sharpe.

  • Bears' David Moore: Struggling with drops

Moore has had many dropped passes, both in one-on-one drills as well as in full-squad snaps, Gene Chamberlain of SI.com reports. After averaging 387 yards and and four touchdowns with the Seahawks between 2018 and 2020, Moore played in just three games (and 23 snaps) with the Broncos and Packers last year. During camp, he's struggled with drops, which will likely put him in a difficult position as he tries to earn a roster spot with the Bears.

  • Bears' David Moore: Arrested in Texas

Moore was arrested Monday in Gainesville, Texas on drug and weapons charges, CBS 12 Sherman reports. Moore was released from Cooke County Jail on Monday on $5,000 bond, but he still could face discipline from the NFL in light of the arrest. The 27-year-old wideout joined the Bears on a one-year deal in April after appearing in three games between stops in Denver and Green Bay in 2021 and playing 31 snaps in total.

  • David Moore: Restored to practice squad

Moore was restored to the Packers' practice squad from the practice squad COVID-19 list Monday. Moore spent a week in COVID-19 protocols, but he'll now be able to practice with the team again. He was with the active roster Week 17 and handled return duties. Whether or not he'll have a chance to reprise the role in the postseason now that he's healthy is not yet known.

  • David Moore: Shifts to practice squad COVID list

Moore has reverted to the Packers' practice squad and was subsequently placed on the practice squad reserve/COVID-19 list. Moore was elevated to the Packers' active roster for their Week 16 victory over the Vikings. It was his fourth time suiting up this season, and first time serving as the team's return man. He will now be required to clear the league's health and safety protocols before returning to practice.

  • Packers' David Moore: Likely primary returner

Moore was elevated to the Packers' active roster Saturday. The Packers have been desperate to find a competent returner on special teams and Moore might just be the answer given his limited experience as both a kick and punt returner with the Seahawks. The 26-year-old briefly saw a stint with the Broncos earlier this season, but he could see a much larger role with the Packers if he's able to prove his competence on special teams.

  • David Moore: Joins Packers' practice squad

The Packers signed Moore to their practice squad Thursday. Moore was cut from Denver's practice squad in early November but will now attempt to carve out a role with the Packers. He appeared in two games with the Broncos earlier in the year but failed to haul in either of his two targets.

  • David Moore: Cut from practice squad

Moore was cut from Denver's practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. The wide receiver was added to the team's practice squad Oct. 20 after appearing in the Broncos' Week 4 and 5 contests earlier in the season, where he failed to make a catch on two targets. Moore did not crack the active roster this time around and now will look for a new squad.

  • David Moore: Lands on Broncos' practice squad

Denver signed Moore to the practice squad Wednesday. Moore suited up for the Broncos in Weeks 4 and 5, versus the Ravens and Steelers, respectively, but in that span he failed to secure either of his two targets. Now, the former Seahawks wideout will get a chance to develop on the practice squad.

  • David Moore: Released Tuesday

Moore was released by the Broncos on Tuesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports. The move was not an unexpected one after the Broncos signed veteran John Brown last week. Moore was active for two games with the team but failed to get a reception. The 26-year-old will likely find another suitor for his services in the coming weeks.

  • Broncos' David Moore: Not playing against Las Vegas

Moore (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Las Vegas. Moore had played two games for Denver after signing from the Raiders' practice squad, but he has only logged 23 offensive snaps -- so his absence here shouldn't have a big impact in most fantasy rosters. Moore's next chance to feature would be at Cleveland next Thursday.

  • Broncos' David Moore: Catchless in loss

Moore failed to secure either of his two targets in Sunday's 27-19 loss to the Steelers. In his second game as a Bronco after being signed off the Raider's practice squad on Sept. 27, Moore played on just four of the team's 60 offensive snaps. The veteran wideout's seven percent snap percentage was down from the 31 percent of offensive snaps he played in his Week 4 debut against the Ravens. With fellow receiver Jerry Jeudy set to make his return from an ankle injury in the coming weeks, Moore will remain well off the fantasy radar going forward.
