Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Practicing at middle linebacker
Overshown has been practicing at middle and weakside linebacker during minicamp, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
The linebacker is also healthy and wearing no knee brace, per Machota. That's significant, seeing as he missed 12 games with a knee injury in 2025. Overshown made an impact in 2024, with 90 tackles (56 solo), including 5.0 sacks, four pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery across 13 regular-season games.

Cowboys' Matt Hennessy: Undergoes neck surgery
Hennessy underwent neck surgery, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Hennessy is expected to start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list, and there's no timeline for his return. The 28-year-old had signed with the Cowboys back in March and is in line to serve as the team's backup center once healthy.

Cowboys' Jonathan Mingo: Dealing with groin strain
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Mingo is tending to a minor groin strain, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
There was no indication as to when Mingo suffered the injury, but it doesn't sound like it's a serious issue. Any time that Mingo potentially misses will make it that much more difficult for him to claim a spot on the Cowboys' Week 1 roster.

Cowboys' Jalen Thompson: Tending to pec issue
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Thompson is nursing a minor pectoral injury, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
It's unknown when or how Thompson got hurt, but his coach's comments suggest there's no great cause for alarm. If he's limited during the Cowboys' minicamp, free agent acquisition P.J. Locke could see some work with the first-team defense.

Cowboys' Nathan Thomas: Competing for starting LT job
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Thursday that Thomas and Tyler Guyton are competing for the starting job at left tackle this offseason, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Thomas was a seventh-round pick out of Louisiana in 2024. After missing his entire rookie season with a knee injury, Thomas appeared in all 17 regular-season games last season and made four starts while seeing most of his action at left tackle. Guyton missed the final six weeks of the 2025 season with a knee injury, allowing Thomas an extended run at the position.

Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Practicing without leg brace
Revel (concussion) is participating during the Cowboys' OTAs, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Per Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site, Revel's biggest priority during the offseason was getting back to full health and shedding the leg brace that he wore for much of the 2025 season, which he has now accomplished with offseason workouts underway. Now, he'll compete for a starting role on the boundary opposite DaRon Bland.

Cowboys' Tyler Guyton: Competing for starting job
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Thursday that Guyton (ankle) is competing with 2024 seventh-rounder Nathan Thomas for the job of starting left tackle, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
It's not clear what level of danger there is that he could actually cede his starting role to Thomas, but it's good news for Guyton that he no longer seems to be hindered by the ankle injury that landed him on IR at the end of last season. Unless Thomas totally dazzles Dallas' coaches in the coming months, Guyton should be expected to be the one protecting Dak Prescott's blindside in 2026.

Cowboys' Donovan Ezeiruaku: Progressing in recovery
Ezeiruaku (hip) participated in some drills during the Cowboys' OTAs, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Per Archer, Ezeiruaku was not taking part in a team session, so there's evidently still some work to do before he's back to full strength. As long as he's healthy, he projects to play a major role on the edge in 2026 along with offseason trade acquisition Rashan Gary and rookie first-rounder Malachi Lawrence.

Cowboys' DaRon Bland: Expecting return for training camp
Bland (foot) is expected to be ready to practice during the Cowboys' training camp in July, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Bland, who underwent surgery on an injured left foot back in January, was moving very well laterally as Dallas held OTAs, per Archer. Once he's at full strength again, he figures to play a big role on the boundary for the Cowboys in 2026.

Cowboys' George Pickens: Expected back for minicamp
Pickens hasn't been present for voluntary OTAs, but he remains in communication with the Cowboys and is expected to show up for mandatory minicamp June 16-18, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Pickens signed his franchise tag for $27.3 million in late April after the Cowboys made it public knowledge that they wouldn't sign him to a long-term deal (and also didn't want to trade him). Cowboys GM Jerry Jones, EVP Stephen Jones and HC Brian Schottenheimer have all hinted that they expect Pickens to play out 2026 under the tag without issue, while Pickens himself hasn't said much, letting his actions (signing the tag) do most of the talking. His absence from voluntary practices may just be a matter of reducing injury risk ahead of another contract year.

Cowboys' Jaden Smith: Heading to Dallas
The Cowboys signed Smith on Wednesday, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Smith was waived by Tampa Bay back in April, but he's now getting a new opportunity with Dallas. He'll have his work cut out for him trying to stand out in the Cowboys' crowded wide receiver room as the new season approaches.

Cowboys' Malik Davis: Appears to be in lead for RB2 job
At this stage, Davis appears to be the frontrunner for the Cowboys' No. 2 running back job, Tommy Yarrish of the team's official site reports.
Calf and eye issues resulted in Davis being placed on IR ahead of Week 18 action last season. However, the ensuing offseason afforded the 27-year-old time to recover, and the Florida product will now look to secure backfield slotting behind top option Javonte Williams, who recorded a career-high 252 carries during the 2025 regular season. While working behind Williams in that span, Davis recorded 52 carries for 250 yards and two touchdowns, as well as two catches (on five targets) for 16 yards in 10 contests. Should Davis maintain his standing as Williams' top backup, he'd carry fantasy value as an insurance policy, but Yarrish points out that Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah could compete for the job ahead of the 2026 campaign, making this a situation to monitor in the coming months.
