Moreland (hand) was let go by the Jets from injured reserve with a settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Moreland will head to free agency despite having previously been placed on injured reserve after suffering a hand injury during the team's preseason finale. Now free to sign elsewhere once he's healthy, the 28-year-old will look to catch on with another team despite having not appeared in a game since 2021.... See More ... See Less

Jimmy Moreland: Lands with practice squad
Moreland signed a contract with the Jets' practice squad Wednesday. Moreland reached an injury settlement with the Eagles on Aug. 24 after reverting to the team's IR one week prior. The Jets signed the 27-year-old after also elevating fellow defensive back Will Parks to the team's active roster Wednesday. Moreland is now eligible to appear in three games via gameday elevations while on the team's practice squad this season.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Jimmy Moreland: Evades injury report
Moreland (illness) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report. Moreland missed Week 17 due to an illness, but he now looks back to full health. That puts the depth cornerback on track for his usual reserve role during Sunday's season finale against the Titans.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Jimmy Moreland: Ruled out for Week 14
Moreland (foot) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Seahawks. It's unclear when Moreland injured his foot, as he wasn't listed on the Texans' injury report at all this week. The backup corner has only played eight defensive snaps this season, so his absence shouldn't impact Houston's defensive gameplan.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Jimmy Moreland: Off injury report
Moreland (illness) is no longer listed on the Texans' injury report. Moreland started off the season with Washington before being waived with an injury settlement. The cornerback was forced to miss Week 4's loss to Buffalo with an illness. Now healthy, Moreland will hope to return to the field in Week 5 action Sunday against the Patriots.... See More ... Texans' Jimmy Moreland: Claimed by Houston
Moreland (undisclosed) was claimed off waivers by the Texans on Tuesday, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports. Moreland was waived off Washington's injured reserve with an injury settlement Monday, and he's apparently fully healthy and ready to join his new team. The 26-year-old saw heavy action in all 16 games for the Football Team last year and totaled 43 tackles, one interception, one forced fumble and a half-sack.... See More ... See Less -
Jimmy Moreland: Waived with injury settlement
Washington waived Moreland (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Monday, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports. Moreland appeared in all 16 regular-season games for Washington last year, racking up 43 tackles and one interception. He sustained an undisclosed injury late in camp that landed him on injured reserve, and now, Washington has decided to part ways with its slot corner. When healthy, Moreland will be eligible to sign with a new team for the 2021 season.... See More ... See Less -
Football Team's Jimmy Moreland: Covers the slot all year
Moreland started five of 16 games in 2020, recording 44 tackles (33 solo), one interception and one forced fumble on 599 defensive snaps. The 2019 seventh-round pick has largely served as Washington's slot corner through two pro seasons, and while nobody will mistake him for a shutdown cover man, Moreland probably did enough to keep the same role in 2021. There is some chance he gets to compete for a starting role outside, especially if the team doesn't re-sign Ronald Darby.... See More ... See Less -
Football Team's Jimmy Moreland: Elevated to starting role
Moreland will draw the start for Sunday's game against Philadelphia, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports. With Kendall Fuller sidelined due to a lingering calf problem, Moreland will start opposite Ronald Darby for Week 1. The good news for Moreland and Washington is that Alshon Jeffery (foot) will be inactive for the contest, leaving DeSean Jackson, Greg Ward and rookie Jalen Reagor as the team's primary receiving options.... Redskins' Jimmy Moreland: Sports walking boot
Moreland was spotted with a walking boot following Sunday's 37-27 loss to the Eagles, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports. Moreland was ruled doubtful to return after leaving the game in the second half. The Redskins' secondary left the game with multiple injuries, as Fabian Moreau hurt his hamstring and Quinton Dunbar (hamstring) was inactive. If the three starters can't get healthy for Week 16's matchup against the Giants, the Redskins may need to bring up a practice-squad player.... See More ... See Less -
Redskins' Jimmy Moreland: Unlikely to return Sunday
Moreland sustained a foot injury and is unlikely to return to Sunday's game against the Eagles, Craig Hoffman of 106.7 The Fan Washington reports. With Quinton Dunbar (hamstring) inactive, the Redskins' secondary is losing numbers. Josh Norman entered the game in Moreland's place, and both Aaron Colvin and Danny Johnson could see upticks in usage.... See More ... See Less
