Player Outlook
Boyd might be unpopular because he's the elder statesman of the Bengals receiving corps, but the guy still averaged north of 10 PPR points per game for the fifth straight season. The problem is that his PPR average has declined five straight years, so it's hard to view him as even a decent receiver unless injuries befall other targets in the Cincy offense. Forty-six other receivers averaged more PPR points per game, and finding a receiver to get you 10 PPR points off waivers is usually not hard to do. Boyd's role in the Bengals offense doesn't figure to get any bigger, but it should still mean a lot of snaps and targets in the slot. For that alone, he's worth grabbing for a bench spot with a pick in Round 13 or later.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Targeted nine times in win

Boyd had five receptions on nine targets for 39 yards in Monday's 19-16 win over the Rams. Boyd turned in another solid PPR effort after grabbing six receptions against the Ravens in Week 2. The veteran slot receiver finished a distant second in receiving for the Bengals behind Ja'Marr Chase's 12-catch, 141-yard performance. Boyd doesn't carry the upside of his superstar teammate, but he offers a safe fantasy floor heading into next Sunday's tilt against Tennessee.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Better in Week 2

Boyd had six catches Sunday against the Ravens, netting 52 yards on eight targets. While it wasn't a tremendous fantasy outing, this is the sort of floor fantasy GMs are used to seeing from Boyd. That floor could drop away if he has Jake Browning throwing to him Monday night instead of Joe Burrow, however.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Suffers along with other Bengals

Boyd had just two catches for 10 yards on three targets in Sunday's loss to the Browns. An ebbing tide strands all boats, just as the Bengals' profound offensive struggles in poor conditions stranded all of their fantasy components against the Browns. Boyd has a better chance of producing next week against a Ravens secondary that's already had multiple key injuries.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Week 1 Waiver Priority List

As long as Joe Burrow (calf) is healthy the Bengals passing game should be awesome, and there's room for Boyd to make plays as the No. 3 receiver behind Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Boyd is also like a lottery ticket since he should be viewed as a handcuff should anything happen to Chase or Higgins during the season. He's a good late-round flier in all leagues, and he's worth adding where available for 1 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Hoping for 1,000 yards

Boyd is aiming for 1,000 yards this season, though he also said teammates Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are better than ever, Charlie Godsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. One of the issues for Boyd is that the Bengals have moved Chase and Higgins into the slot more and more often as they and QB Joe Burrow (calf) have increasingly mastered coach Zac Taylor's offense over the years. The grey cloud hanging over Cincinnati is Burrow's preseason injury, potentially leaving things in the hands of Trevor Siemian or Jake Browning for Week 1 at Cleveland. Either way, Boyd is Option C in a prolific offense and should remain one of the league's better No. 3 receivers in his age-28/29 season.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Shows up for voluntary practice

Boyd participated in Tuesday's voluntary practice, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Boyd is healthy this spring after exiting the AFC Championship Game early with a deep thigh bruise. He won't be at every voluntary practice, but that's only because he's a ninth-year pro entering his fifth season in the same system and fourth with Joe Burrow. The continuity in Cincinnati helps the Bengals offense overall and puts Boyd in a lot of favorable situations and matchups, but it also means he's third in line for targets again behind fellow wideouts Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Hurts thigh in KC

Boyd (thigh) is questionable to return to Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs. Boyd was injured in the first half after accruing 40 yards on two catches. He didn't join the rest of Cincinnati's offense to begin the second half.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Only one catch

Boyd had just one catch on two targets for 23 yards in the Bengals' win over the Bills on Sunday. That catch came on the team's opening drive and was a big play to help get the Bengals offense going, but more was expected from Boyd, given the attrition in the Bills secondary and that he scored in the Week 17 truncated game. The Bengals face the Chiefs next in the AFC Championship Game this coming Sunday, and Boyd has had exactly four catches in each of the three games the Bengals have played against them the last two years.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Catches five passes in win

Boyd caught five of seven targets for 51 yards in Sunday's 27-16 win over the Ravens. Boyd continued to operate as the Bengals' No. 3 wideout Sunday, playing 48 of Cincinnati's 66 offensive snaps. So long as Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are healthy, Boyd will remain a secondary target, but his ceiling is higher than most No. 3 receivers around the league as a member of Cincinnati's high-volume passing attack. He finished the regular season with 58 catches for 762 yards and five touchdowns over his 16 appearances.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Back in Sunday's game

Boyd has returned to Sunday's game against the Ravens, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports. Boyd was forced out of the contest to be evaluated for a possible concussion, but he's been cleared to return to action in the Bengals' regular-season finale. Prior to his exit, Boyd had caught three of his four targets for 42 yards.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Three catches

Boyd (finger) was held to three catches for 21 yards on four targets in Saturday's win over the Patriots. Boyd briefly left the game after aggravating his finger injury. Later in the second quarter, Boyd was the intended target on Joe Burrow's first interception on a play where Boyd appeared to stop his route, with the ball arriving where Burrow expected him to continue to run.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Returns Saturday after brief absence

Boyd (finger) returned to Saturday's game against the Patriots after briefly exiting the contest, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The Bengals listed Boyd as questionable to return to Saturday's contest after he apparently suffered an aggravation of the surgically repaired finger on his left hand, but the receiver looks like he'll be good to go for the rest of the afternoon upon being evaluated on the sideline for a brief spell.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Aggravates finger injury

Boyd is questionable to return to Saturday's game against the Patriots due a left finger injury, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports. Boyd underwent surgery on one of his fingers two weeks earlier, so he presumably aggravated the digit in question at some point during Saturday's contest. If Boyd is unable to return to the Week 16 contest, he'll finish the game without a target.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Sneaky Sleeper (Lineup Decisions)

I wouldn't reach for Boyd as a must-start or anything like that, but the expectation is that Bill Belichick will do what he can to limit Ja'Marr Chase from beating up his defense. It'll leave single coverage for Boyd on pretty much every play, which he gets in general, but in a game where Burrow could easily find his way to some big success, Boyd can help. He's not bad in a pinch over low-ceiling receivers impacted by weather like Gabe Davis, Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones, and he's also better than Russell Gage, Noah Brown and Jakobi Meyers.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Listed as active Sunday

Boyd (finger) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports. The same goes for fellow wideout Tee Higgins (hamstring), which bolsters a Bengals' passing offense that will be minus top tight end Hayden Hurst. In that context, Boyd -- who was limited to just two snaps in Week 14 after suffering a dislocated finger -- figures to profile as the team's No. 3 target versus Tampa Bay behind Ja'Marr Chase and Higgins, barring any in-game setbacks. It remains to be seen how much, if at all, Boyd is hampered by his finger injury, but it's worth noting the 29-year-old was listed as a full practice participant Friday.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Should play Sunday

Boyd (finger), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers, is expected to suit up, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Despite logging a full practice Friday, Boyd took an injury designation into the weekend, but he and fellow wideout Tee Higgins (hamstring) are both expected to be available for quarterback Joe Burrow in Tampa Bay. With tight end Hayden Hurst (calf) ruled out, Boyd should be the clear No. 3 target behind Ja'Marr Chase and Higgins. Boyd's availability will be officially confirmed when Cincinnati releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Listed as questionable after full practice

Boyd (finger) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against Tampa Bay after being listed as a full practice participant Friday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports. As is Tee Higgins (hamstring), which makes the status of the two wideouts worth confirming in advance of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. That said, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site relays that coach Zac Taylor, as well as both players, have expressed optimism that the duo will be active this weekend.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Optimism regarding Week 15 status

Coach Zac Taylor noted Friday that he feels good about Boyd's (finger) chances of playing Sunday against the Buccaneers, Andrew Gillis of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. The same applies to fellow wideout Tee Higgins (hamstring), with the report suggesting that both players were able to work fully Friday. The Bengals' upcoming injury report is slated to clarify if either Boyd or Higgins end up carrying Week 15 injury designations, but at this stage both players are trending in the right direction.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Remains limited Thursday

Boyd (finger) remained limited at practice Thursday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports. Tee Higgins (hamstring) stayed limited as well, with both wideouts presumably needing to log a full practice Friday in order to avoid injury designations ahead of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. For his part, Boyd -- who was limited to just two snaps Week 14 after suffering a dislocated finger -- has indicated that he expects to play this weekend, per Dehner.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Limited at practice

Boyd (finger) was a limited participated at practice Wednesday, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Tee Higgins (hamstring) joined Boyd as a limited participant, with head coach Zac Taylor noting that the two receivers are considered day-to-day ahead of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. A dislocated finger limited Boyd to just two snaps in the Bengals' Week 14 win over the Browns, but the wideout expressed confidence that he'll be ready to play his usual allotment of snaps this weekend, per Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer.
