  • Matthias Farley: Done in Carolina

The Panthers waived Farley on Monday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports. A little over a week after originally signing with Carolina's active roster, Farley is already on his way out the door. He's now set to become a free agent assuming he's not picked up by another team during the current waiver period.

  • Panthers' Matthias Farley: Signed to active roster

The Panthers signed Farley to their active roster Saturday. Farley has spent the majority of this year on Carolina's practice squad, but with Justin Houston (hamstring) going on injured reserve, the 31-year-old safety has been signed to the team's active roster. The eight-year veteran has appeared in three games for the Panthers this season, recording eight total tackles.

  • Panthers' Matthias Farley: Getting the start Sunday

Farley is expected to start in place of the injured Vonn Bell (quadriceps) during Sunday's game against Miami, Darin Gnatt of the Panthers' official site reports. Farley was elevated from Carolina's practice squad earlier in the week and he's expected to make his first start in the last three years. The Panthers will also be without starting free safety Xavier Woods (hamstring), so the team will have an entirely different safety duo this Sunday. Farley has appeared in 35 games over the past three seasons, primarily playing on special teams and recording 25 total tackles.

  • Titans' Matthias Farley: Heads to Tennessee

Farley signed with the Titans on Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports. Farley generated 24 tackles and three pass breakups across 16 games with the Jets last year. Seven of those stops were on special teams, where he logged a majority of his snaps. Amani Hooker and Kevin Byard are the favorites for the starting safety jobs, so Farley likely will be called upon to contribute on special teams once again.

  • Jets' Matthias Farley: Active for Thursday's contest

Farley (ankle) is active for Thursday's contest against the Ravens. Farley's return from a one-game absence comes at a convenient time with Jamal Adams (ankle) being ruled out for Thursday's game. The former could see an increased role as a result of the latter being absent.

  • Jets' Matthias Farley: Questionable to face Bengals

Farley (quadriceps) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports. Farley logged three limited practice sessions this week. The 27-year old safety does most of his damage on special teams, so the Jets' secondary wouldn't be noticeably impacted if he were forced to miss more time.

  • Jets' Matthias Farley: Won't play Week 12

Farley (quadriceps) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Raiders. Farley came into the contest with a doubtful tag, so his absence isn't surprising. It will be the second straight game missed for the Notre Dame product, and in his stead, Blake Countess will be relied upon to handle the depth safety snaps against Oakland.

  • Jets' Matthias Farley: Signs with jets

Farley signed a contract with the Jets on Friday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. Farley was released by the Colts a few days prior to his signing with the Jets. He played just five games for Indianapolis last season due to a hamstring injury that landed him on IR. Farley likely will serve as a backup to Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye, and he may contribute on special teams as well.

  • Colts' Matthias Farley: Posts season-high 11 tackles

Farley recorded 11 tackles (three solo) against the Broncos on Thursday. The lack of solo tackles is troubling, but it was a solid performance nonetheless. Farley had nine total tackles and an interception in Sunday's 13-7 overtime loss at Buffalo. Farley has been a reliable source of tackles other than an odd game where he recorded no tackles in Week 8. He's since averaged 6.2 tackles per contest in his last five games.
