  • Joshua Perkins: Signs with Jets

Perkins was signed to the Jets' practice squad Wednesday. Perkins was with San Francisco in training camp and has now found a new home in New York. He last saw NFL action in 2019 with the Eagles and had nine receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown in five contests.

  • Joshua Perkins: Let go by 49ers

Perkins was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports. Perkins signed with San Francisco in early August and will depart the team after spending about two weeks in camp. He spent the entirety of 2020 on injured reserve with the Eagles with an upper body injury.

  • 49ers' Joshua Perkins: Signs one-year contract

Perkins signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Perkins apparently impressed enough during his weekend workout with San Francisco to earn a spot on the roster early in training camp. The tight end suffered an upper-body injury in camp last year and spent the entire 2020 campaign on injured reserve with the Eagles.

  • Joshua Perkins: Works out in San Francisco

Perkins (upper body) had a workout with the 49ers on Saturday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports. Perkins spent last year on injured reserve with the Eagles after suffering a camp injury, and he's looking to find a new team in 2021.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: Hits injured reserve

The Eagles placed Perkins (upper body) on injured reserve Wednesday, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports. Perkins looked in line to handle a key reserve role for Philadelphia before he suffered a significant upper body injury during practice over the weekend. In his stead, Noah Togiai and Caleb Wilson will look to pick up the slack behind top tight ends Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: Reaches new career highs in 2019

Perkins caught nine of his 13 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown in five games during the 2019 season. Perkins set new career marks in catches, yards and targets in his third pro season but still wasn't much of a fantasy contributor. The 26-year-old will become a restricted free agent in the offseason, so there is a good chance he will be backing up Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert again in 2020.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: Finds end zone Sunday

Perkins caught four of six targets for 50 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-17 win over the Giants. The tight end, promoted off the practice squad at the end of November due to the rash of injuries the Eagles have had to deal with, was pressed into duty at wide receiver in this one and ended up scoring his second career TD, with his first coming as a Falcon back in 2016. Philly will take on Seattle in a wild-card clash next weekend, but despite his solid showing in Week 17, Perkins' role in the offense will likely depend on the health of more talented teammates like Zach Ertz (ribs).

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: No catches in win

Perkins failed to corral either of his two targets in Sunday's 17-9 win over Dallas. Perkins' targets both came in the first half and were his first in two weeks. The 26-year-old saw 26 offensive snaps in this one and eight on special teams.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: Nabs five catches in win

Perkins caught all five of his targets for 37 yards in Monday night's 23-17 win over the Giants. It was quite the season debut for Perkins, who had not played an offensive snap all year prior to Monday. Three of his catches went for first downs, including his biggest gain of the night, a 13-yarder on the game-winning drive in overtime. When Alshon Jeffery (foot) was forced from the game, it left the Eagles with only two healthy wide receivers, and the 25-year-old stepped in to fill the void, with all of his targets coming in the second half. He could continue to have a role going forward with Jeffery now out for the season and Nelson Agholor (knee) still on the mend, but it bears watching to see if the Eagles sign any receivers prior to their Week 15 matchup at Washington.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: Signed from practice squad

Perkins was promoted from the practice squad Saturday, Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com reports. Perkins' promotion doesn't bode well for fellow tight end Zach Ertz's (hamstring) status. Even if Ertz ends up sitting out, Perkins is unlikely to see heavy involvement. Perkins had just five catches in nine games for the Eagles last season.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: Sees 23 snaps Thursday

Perkins recorded one reception on two targets for five yards in Thursday's 26-15 loss to Baltimore. The fact that Perkins played Thursday is good news, as he left the practice field Tuesday due to an undisclosed injury. It certainly would've been an unfortunate time to go down with an injury, as the 26-year-old sits on the roster bubble as Philadelphia's fourth tight end and obviously needs to see the field to make his case.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: Leaves practice Tuesday

Perkins left practice with a trainer for an undisclosed reason, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports. What exactly forced Perkins off the practice field is unclear at this time, but the team should have an update on his status soon. Perkins can't afford to miss time with an injury given that he is sitting squarely on the roster bubble.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: On roster bubble

Perkins appears to be on the roster bubble ahead of the 2019 season, Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com reports. Entering his fourth season in the league, Perkins has appeared in only 17 games for the Eagles and Falcons over his career and caught eight passes for 109 yards and a score along the way. He's coming off a 2018 campaign in which the tight end finished the year on injured reserve, but Perkins has since returned to team drills this spring, according to Mike Kaye of The Newark Star-Ledger. Now healthy, the challenge for Perkins this summer will be to unseat Richard Rodgers for the No. 3 role.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: Lands on IR

Perkins (knee) was placed on injured reserve Friday, Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com reports. Perkins' placement on injured reserve comes following the activation of fellow tight end Richard Rodgers. Coach Doug Pederson said earlier this week that he expects Perkins to miss "significant time," and it now appears that Perkins will miss the remainder of the 2018 season. Perkins caught five of eleven targets for 67 yards in five games with the Eagles in 2018.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: Not practicing Wednesday

Perkins (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Daniel Gallen of The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports. Perkins' absence from practice comes as little surprise after coach Doug Pederson said earlier in the day that he expects the tight end to miss "significant time." Dallas Goedert will remain the unquestioned backup to starter Zach Ertz during Sunday's game against the Saints, with Richard Rodgers (knee) a candidate to come off injured reserve and replace Perkins as the Eagles' No. 3 tight end.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: Set to miss 'significant time' with injury

Coach Doug Pederson revealed Wednesday that Perkins is dealing with a knee injury and will miss "significant time," Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports. Pederson said that Perkins' injury was a contributing factor to the Eagles' decision earlier this week to designate fellow tight end Richard Rodgers as one of their two players eligible to return from injured reserve. If Rodgers fares well in his initial three practices of the regular season, he could be added to the roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Saints, with Perkins becoming a candidate to shift to IR to facilitate the transaction. Even when healthy this season, Perkins has been a distant third on the depth chart behind Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert, notching just five receptions for 67 yards across nine games while seeing most of his duties on special teams.

  • Eagles' Joshua Perkins: Signs future contract

Perkins signed a reserve/future contract with the Eagles on Monday. Perkins spent the 2017 season on the Falcons' practice squad injured list with an undisclosed injury. The Eagles are currently stacked at tight end, but Trey Burton's contract expires after this season, which could open up a depth spot for Perkins.

  • Falcons' Joshua Perkins: Inactive for Sunday's game

Perkins is inactive for Sunday's game at the Raiders. Perkins' absence projects as a coach's decision, but more updates are likely to come in the next couple of days.
