Hayes was claimed off waivers by Baltimore on Sunday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. Hayes was waived by the Lions after signing with the team Aug. 5. The 25-year-old is well-traveled in his career thus far, seeing action with the Dolphins, Vikings, Panthers and Patriots while also having a short stay with the Cardinals. Lions' Tae Hayes: Headed to Motown
The Lions have signed Hayes to a contract, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Hayes' journeryman NFL career continues, as Detroit will be the sixth team he has played for as he enters his fourth season. Dolphins' Tae Hayes: Contributes down the stretch
Hayes recorded seven tackles (four solo) and two defended passes in two regular-season contests with the Dolphins in 2019. Hayes also appeared in one game with the Jaguars, during which he played seven snaps on special teams. Upon being claimed off waivers by Miami in mid-December, the rookie out of Appalachian State quickly stepped into a key role in the secondary. Jaguars' Tae Hayes: Promoted from practice squad
Hayes was promoted from the Jaguars' practice squad to the 53-man roster Tuesday, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. The 22-year-old joined the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in April but was unable to earn a spot on the season-opening roster and has since been on the practice squad.
