Seahawks head coach Pete Carrol said Wednesday that Brooks (knee) is making progress in his recovery from the ACL tear he suffered in the team's Week 17 win over the Jets on Jan. 1, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. Brooks underwent surgery on his knee a few weeks later and is apparently bouncing back well nearly three months removed from the procedure. Before injuring his knee, Brooks was in the midst of another productive campaign, as he racked up an impressive 161 tackles to go with five pass breakups, one sack and one forced fumble in 16 games.... Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Surgery upcoming
Head coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Brooks will have surgery later this week to address the torn ACL he suffered in Week 17 against the Jets, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Although Brooks' recovery process is now underway, he still remains without a specific timetable for a return to football-related activities. The 25-year-old will aim to be available for the start of next season, after he led Seattle with 161 stops across 16 games played during the 2022-23 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Heads to IR
Seattle placed Brooks (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Brooks' move to season-ending IR was inevitable after he was confirmed to have suffered a torn ACL in his knee during this past Sunday's win over the Jets. Head coach Pete Carroll said Brooks will undergo surgery to address the injury once the swelling in his knee subsides. The 25-year-old linebacker was named a Pro Bowl alternate this season after racking up a team-high 161 tackles to go with five pass breakups, one sack and one forced fumble in 16 games. Given the timing of his ACL surgery, Brooks could be in danger of opening training camp on the PUP list and may have to miss some game action to begin the 2023 season.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Will not return
Brooks (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Jets. Brooks suffered what appeared to be a significant injury that led to immediate attention from a doctor and led to him being unable to put any weight on his leg. He did enter the team's medical tent right immediately and then he was ultimately carted off the field and to the locker room. This news is certainly a significant blow to the Seahawks and their defense as they push for a playoff spot in the last two weeks of the season. Tanner Muse has stepped into replace him at inside linebacker.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Limited Wednesday
Brooks (neck) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Brooks injured his neck during Seattle's Week 15 loss to San Francisco. He seemed to have put the injury behind him after he was listed as a full participant on Tuesday's practice estimate, but Wednesday's limited listing indicates he's not in the clear for Saturday's game in Kansas City just yet. Brooks has been one of the top IDP performers thus far in 2022, tallying 149 tackles to go with a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery over his first 14 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Full go to begin Week 16
Brooks (neck) was listed as a full participant on the Seahawks' injury report Tuesday. Brooks was evaluated for a neck injury during Week 15's loss to San Francisco on Thursday Night Football. The 25-year-old was then deemed questionable to return, though it's unclear if he was able to return to this contest. Nevertheless, it doesn't appear the issue will limit Brooks heading into Saturday's game against Kansas City, and the third-year linebacker should continue to serve as Seattle's top tackler moving forward.... Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Questionable to return
Brooks (neck) has been downgraded to questionable to return to Thursday's game against the 49ers, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Brooks was initially deemed probable to return during the second half after being removed to be evaluated for a neck injury. While the results of this evaluation are still unclear, the third-year linebacker was seen watching the game from the sideline without his helmet on, per Dugar. With less than five minutes remaining, Brooks will have little time left to get back on the field before the end of this contest.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Exits Thursday night
Brooks exited to be evaluated for a neck injury during Thursday's game against San Francisco, though he is considered probable to return, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Brooks logged eight tackles before he was removed with a potential neck injury. Brooks was the league's second-leading tackler coming into Week 15, with 141 stops over 13 games this season. With Brooks out for the time being, Nick Bellore will likely step up into a bigger role alongside inside linebacker Cody Barton.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Logs double-digit tackles again
Brooks posted 10 tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 30-24 defeat versus the Panthers. Brooks tallied at least 10 tackles for the ninth time in 13 games this season. However, he actually finished as the team's third-leading tackler behind Cody Barton and Ryan Neal (knee). Brooks still far and away leads the Seahawks in tackles this season (141), and he now ranks just behind Jaguars linebacker Foye Oluokun (142) for the league's most tackles through Week 14. Brooks will serve a vital role in trying to slow down the 49ers' offense during Thursday Night Football in Week 15.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: First sack of 2022
Brooks recorded nine tackles (six solo) and a sack in Sunday's 27-23 win over the Rams. Brooks will compete for the league lead in tackles down the stretch, as he's tied with Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin for second with 131 stops behind Falcons linebacker Rashaan Evans (134). He also managed to post his first sack of the year and the second of his career. Brooks continues to dominate in his third NFL season, and he's a must-start for IDP purposes.... See More ... Brooks recorded 14 tackles (11 solo), including one for loss, and one pass defense during Sunday's 21-16 loss to Tampa Bay. Brooks led all players with a season-high 14 stops and notched his seventh double-digit tackle performance in 10 appearances. The third-year linebacker has totaled 104 tackles, three pass defenses, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery while playing nearly every single defensive snap for Seattle this season.... See More ... Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Game-high 12 tackles Sunday
Brooks collected 12 tackles (11 solo) and one pass defensed during Sunday's 31-21 win over the Cardinals. Through the first nine weeks of the 2022 NFL campaign, Brooks leads the entire league with 90 tackles and has played all but two defensive snaps for the Seahawks this season. Additionally, the 25-year-old has two passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery across nine games played, and he'll look to keep his Pro Bowl caliber season rolling into Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers in the first ever NFL game in Germany.... Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Returns to practice
Brooks (ankle) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Brooks is tending to an ankle injury following his least effective performance of the season, finishing with five tackles (five solo) in Week 8 against the Giants. His ability to practice over the next few days will likely determine his availability for Sunday in Arizona.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Piles up 11 stops
Brooks posted 11 tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 19-9 win over the Cardinals. Brooks has posted at least nine tackles in all six games this season, and he currently is third in the league with 65 tackles (41 solo). He continues to be a must-start fantasy option.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Logs another 11-tackle game Sunday
Brooks recorded 11 tackles (seven solo) and one pass defensed during Sunday's 39-32 loss to the Saints. Brooks continues to have a nose for the ball in 2022, as he's now tied with Zaire Franklin and Roquan Smith for the league lead in tackles (54) through the first five weeks. The 2020 first-rounder has played all but two defensive snaps for Seattle this season, and he'll look to remain a focal point of the team's defense Sunday versus Arizona.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Posts 11 tackles in loss
Brooks recorded 11 tackles (seven solo) during Sunday's 27-7 loss to the 49ers. Brooks led the NFL with 184 tackles last season and already has 23 through the first two games of 2022. As long as he's healthy, he's a premier IDP option.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Misses practice
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said that Brooks sat out Friday's practice while dealing with a tight hamstring, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports. It's likely that Seattle will take every precaution when it comes to Brooks' health this offseason after he finished the 2021 campaign with the NFL's second-most tackles (184). In the starting inside linebacker's absence, backups Joel Iyiegbuniwe and Tanner Muse should see increased reps this preseason.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Piles up 184 tackles
Brooks posted 184 tackles (109 solo), five pass breakups, a sack and a fumble recovery across 17 games during the 2021 season. In his second NFL season, Brooks finished second in the league in tackles, beating Bobby Wagner's career best for tackles in the process. Brooks looks like he'll be a staple of Seattle's defense moving forward, and he could take on signal-caller duties if Wagner doesn't return in 2022. We should expect Brooks -- who is 24 years old -- to be a high-end IDP option next season.... See More ... See Less -
Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Up to 113 stops
Brooks made 14 tackles (10 solo) in Monday's 17-15 loss to Washington. Brooks is now tied with Bears linebacker Roquan Smith for fifth in the league with 113 tackles through 11 games. The second-year linebacker is now ranked sixth in the league with 99 tackles (56 solo) through 10 games, trailing teammate Bobby Wagner, who leads the league with 115 stops. Brady Henderson@BradyHenderson3D agoHere was Bobby Wagner, Devin Bush and Jon Rhattigan in linebacker drills. Bush is the favorite to start alongside Wagner to begin the season, assuming Jordyn Brooks isn’t ready by then. By the way, that’s Lofa Tatupu throwing. He’s back to work with the defense this offseason. https://t.co/xzRoohIXld

Brady Henderson@BradyHenderson24D agoTwo things I think work in Seattle's favor: the bye is early and perhaps the four most important games (SF, DAL, SF, PHI) are in Nov/Dec. Better to have that tough stretch late rather than early, when their D may not have Brooks and/or Adams. Early bye ideal for the same reason.
