    Throckmorton was waived by the Panthers on Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports. In a surprising move, Carolina has cut Throckmorton, who started the team's previous seven games at guard. The Oregon product spent the first two years of his career with New Orleans, starting in 20 of his 31 appearances. Chandler Zavala and Cade Mays seem to be the two most likely options to replace Throckmorton on the Panthers' offensive line.

  • Panthers' Calvin Throckmorton: Suffers calf injury

    Throckmorton suffered a calf injury during Carolina's 42-21 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports. Head coach Frank Reich announced after the game that Throckmorton had been added to the injury report with a calf injury. The 27-year-old will now have the team's upcoming bye to get healthy, but if he's not good to go Week 8 against the Texans, Cade Mays will start in his place.

  • Saints' Calvin Throckmorton: Practices with second team

    Throckmorton (elbow) is back at practice and working with the second-team offensive line unit, John Hendricks of Sports Illustrated reports. After going undrafted in 2021, Throckmorton has found a role as a depth offensive lineman in New Orleans. He was slowed down by an elbow injury early in camp but appears to have recovered from it. Barring any setbacks, he is on track to back up Andrus Peat in Week 1.

    Throckmorton (elbow) left Saints camp early Wednesday with an apparent elbow injury, Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com reports. Throckmorton has started 20 games (six last season) for the Saints in his first two years in the NFL after going undrafted in 2021. Once he's at full health, expect the third-year guard out of Oregon to back up Andrus Peat ahead of the coming season.
