Player Outlook
Zuerlein is staying with the Jets this season, and he will look to build on a productive campaign from 2022. He's worth drafting with a final-round selection in all leagues. Last year, Zuerlein made 30 of 37 field goals, including 6 of 11 from 50-plus yards, and 28 of 29 PATs. This is the third time in his career that Zuerlein has made at least 30 field goals, and he should see his PATs rise this season with the Jets adding Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. Zuerlein should be considered a borderline starting Fantasy kicker in all leagues.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: No FG attempts again

Zuerlein didn't attempt a field goal and converted one of two PATs in Friday's 34-13 loss to the Dolphins. After benching Zach Wilson in favor of Tim Boyle during the previous game, the Jets' struggling offense looked no better in Boyle's first start of 2023. At least Wilson usually got the team in field-goal range a few times per game; Boyle didn't lead the offense into Miami territory until the fourth quarter. Zuerlein hasn't attempted a field goal over the past two games.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Zero attempts in Week 11

Zuerlein didn't attempt a field goal or PAT in Sunday's 32-6 loss to the Bills. After accounting for all of the Jets' points over the previous two games with six field goals, Zuerlein didn't get off the bench in the team's Week 11 loss. New York's lone touchdown reduced the deficit to 16-6 in the second quarter, so the Jets went for two in hopes of making it a one-possession game. Zuerlein will hope to be busier when the Jets return home in Week 12 to host the Dolphins.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Four FGs account for all NYJ points

Zuerlein made all four of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 16-12 loss to the Raiders. For the second time in as many weeks, Zuerlein accounted for all of the Jets' points. He has made all six of his field-goal attempts over that span and is 22-for-23 this season. Zuerlein connected from 47, 53, 30 and 45 yards in the Week 10 loss.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Two more FGs, no PATs Monday

Zuerlein made both of his field-goal attempts in Monday's 27-6 loss to the Chargers. Zuerlein connected from 47 yards in the second quarter and from 46 in the third. The veteran kicker has made all but one of his 19 field-goal attempts in 2023, as well as all six PAT attempts. New York's inability to score touchdowns should continue creating plenty of opportunities for Zuerlein to kick field goals moving forward.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Clutch despite low volume in Week 8

Zuerlein made both of his field-goal attempts and his only PAT try in Sunday's 13-10 overtime win over the Giants. The Jets' offense struggled to provide Zuerlein opportunities, but he made a pair of clutch short kicks down the stretch. His 35-yard field goal tied the game on the final play of the fourth quarter, and Zuerlein added the overtime game-winner from 33 yards out. The veteran kicker has missed only once in six appearances this season.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Nine made FGs in last two games

Zuerlein converted all four of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 20-14 win over the Eagles. New York's defense forced four turnovers, giving the offense numerous short fields, but it took until the game's final two minutes for the Jets to finally find the end zone. Prior to that point, Zuerlein accounted for the team's first 12 points with makes from 43, 42, 35 and 38 yards. Zuerlein made a 60-yard field goal last season, but the Jets notably turned down a pair of opportunities from 55-plus yards in Sunday's win, electing to go for it once and punt another time.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Busy in Week 5 win

Zuerlein made all five of his field-goal attempts and both PAT tries in Sunday's 31-21 win over the Broncos. Four of Zuerlein's field goals were 30 yards or shorter, as New York moved the ball well but frequently stalled out in the red zone. His other make came from 49 yards out in the fourth quarter. The veteran kicker has made 10 of 11 field-goal attempts heading into a Week 6 home game against the Eagles.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Misses 52-yarder

Zuerlein made one of two field-goal attempts and converted his only PAT try in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Chiefs. Zuerlein's 52-yard field-goal attempt in the second quarter clanked off the upright and bounced away. That proved to be a consequential miss in a game the Jets ultimately lost by three points. Prior to the miss, Zuerlein converted a 31-yard attempt. He has made five of six field-goal attempts across three appearances this season.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Accurate in return

Zuerlein (groin) made his only field-goal attempt from 52 yards away and converted his lone PAT attempt in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Patriots. Zuerlein didn't miss a beat in his return after missing the previous game due to a groin injury. Wet conditions didn't deter the veteran kicker on a 52-yard field-goal attempt in the second quarter. New York's averaging just 14.0 PPG, so Zuerlein's opportunities will likely remain limited moving forward.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Good to go Week 3

Zuerlein (leg) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports. The 35-year-old was considered questionable for Sunday after sitting out Week 2 with the leg injury, and he'll be back on the field after a one-game absence. Zuerlein made 92 percent of his field goals inside 50 yards last year and had a strong showing in the season opener, making all three of his field-goal attempts plus one PAT.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Questionable despite full practice

Zuerlein (leg) logged a full practice Friday but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Zuerlein's ability to practice fully Friday puts him in good shape to return after a one-game absence. The veteran kicker steadily increased his participation throughout the week, as Zuerlein was limited Thursday after Wednesday's DNP. Whether the Jets choose to elevate kicker Austin Seibert from the practice squad prior to Sunday's game will be a telling sign regarding Zuerlein's availability, or lack thereof.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Set to practice Friday

Zuerlein (groin) will kick at practice Friday, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports. Zuerlein returned to limited practice participation Thursday and will again test out the groin injury that kept him sidelined in Week 2 against Dallas and in practice Wednesday. If the veteran kicker shows that he's over the injury in practice Friday, he would likely return to action Sunday against the Patriots. Should Zuerlein require more recovery time, Austin Seibert would be in line to get elevated from the practice squad for a second consecutive game.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Back to practicing Thursday

Zuerlein (groin) was a limited participant at practice Thursday, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports. Zuerlein was forced to sit out due to his groin injury in Week 2, but his presence at practice Thursday is a step in the right direction ahead of Week 3. He'll still probably need to practice in full Friday in order to avoid carrying an injury designation into the weekend.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Absent from Wednesday's practice

Zuerlein (groin) didn't practice Wednesday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. Zuerlein remains bothered by the groin injury that prevented him from suiting up in this past Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. Austin Seibert was signed to the practice squad and subsequently made his only field-goal attempt in Week 2 after being elevated in Zuerlein's absence. If Zuerlein hasn't fully healed in advance of this weekend's matchup the Patriots, Seibert would be in line for another elevation from the practice squad.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Questionable with groin injury

Zuerlein (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Dallas, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Zuerlein didn't practice Friday while tending to a groin injury in his right (kicking) leg. The Jets are expected to sign a kicker to their practice squad Friday or Saturday to have an insurance option on hand in the event that Zuerlein isn't able to play in Sunday's game, which kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET. Zuerlein is coming off a productive Week 1 game in which he knocked down his lone extra-point attempt and all three of his field-goal tries in the Jets' 22-16 overtime win over the Bills.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Looking 50/50 for Week 2

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Friday that Zuerlein (groin) has a "50-50" chance to suit up Sunday at Dallas, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports. Zuerlein won't practice Friday, and he looks as though he may be a game-time decision heading into Sunday's contest, which kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET. The Jets could tip their hand about Zuerlein's availability (or lack thereof) if they choose to add a kicker to the 53-man roster ahead of Saturday's deadline for Week 2 transactions. The Jets seem to at least be preparing for the possibility of a Zuerlein absence, as the team will begin working out kickers Friday and presumably sign one to the practice squad.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Kicker to Sit

Zuerlein had a quality Week 1 performance against Buffalo when he made all three of his field goals and his lone extra point. He did that with Zach Wilson playing the majority of the game, which is encouraging, but this is a tough matchup for the Jets at Dallas. The Cowboys just shut out the Giants 40-0 in Week 1, and the Jets are due for a letdown after an emotional win against the Bills on Monday night. I would prefer to bench Zuerlein in all leagues in Week 2.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Accurate in Week 1 win

Zuerlein made all three of his field-goal attempts and converted his lone PAT try in Monday's 22-16 overtime win over the Bills. Zuerlein didn't need to showcase his leg strength in this one, connecting from 26, 43 and 30 yards out. His last field goal gave the Jets a three-point lead with 1:48 remaining in the fourth quarter, but Buffalo tied the game before New York won it with an overtime touchdown. Zuerlein's ceiling moving forward has been lowered by Aaron Rodgers' season-ending Achilles injury, but Greg the Leg's certainly capable of continuing to perform at a high level if New York's Zach Wilson-led offense can get into scoring range consistently.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Stays perfect in preseason

Zuerlein made both of his field-goal attempts and all three PAT tries in Saturday's 27-0 preseason win over the Panthers. The Jets still have two preseason games left, but Zuerlein's ready for the regular season to start. After connecting from 47 and 45 yards out in this one, the veteran kicker has made all five of his field-goal attempts this preseason, with each kick coming from at least 44 yards away.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: In midseason form

Zuerlein connected on all three of his field-goal attempts and his lone PAT attempt in Thursday's 21-16 preseason loss to Cleveland. All of Zuerlein's output came in the first half, as he made field goals from 54, 44 and 53 yards away. Greg the Leg is expected to be far busier in 2023 after the Jets acquired Aaron Rodgers in the offseason to lead their offense.
