Adderley (thumb) has been ruled active for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports. Adderley sustained a thumb injury during the Chargers' Week 11 loss to the Chiefs, leaving him sidelined for last Sunday's win against the Cardinals. The starting free safety was spotted wearing a club on his injured right hand during practice Week 13, so it's possible he could still be limited against Las Vegas.... See More ... See Less

Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Back at practice Wednesday
Adderley (thumb) was back at practice Wednesday and sported a club on his right hand, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Adderley initially suffered the thumb injury during Week 11 but appeared on track to suit up for Week 12 after logging back-to-back full practices to begin prep. However, he was downgraded to a non-participant Friday and was deemed doubtful for Sunday's matchup against Arizona. While the extent of Adderley's participation Wednesday remains unclear, it's certainly an encouraging sign to see the safety back in the mix following his absence.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Fully practices Wednesday
Adderley (thumb) logged a full practice session Wednesday. Adderley injured his thumb Sunday against Kansas City and failed to play 100 percent of the Chargers' defensive snaps for just the second time this season. However, his ability to practice in full Wednesday suggests that he's in line to play versus Arizona in Week 12. Should Adderley regress, JT Woods and/or Alohi Gilman would likely see increased snaps.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Slated to start Monday
Adderly was seen working with the Chargers' first-team defense during pregame warmups ahead of Monday's matchup with the Broncos, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Adderly lost his starting spot to Alohi Gilman during last week's win over Cleveland, as he recorded one tackle and played just six of his 19 total snaps on defense. However, the 25-year-old appears set to start again at free safety for this divisional matchup against Denver. Adderly totaled 15 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble while playing 100 percent of the Chargers' defensive snaps over the first four games of the season.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Succeeding with bigger role
Adderley has been taking on more responsibility in the absence of Derwin James (contract dispute) during training camp, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports. Adderley has been quarterbacking the defense, while also demonstrating a greater grasp of the scheme heading into his fourth season. "You're able to look at the quarterback's tendencies," he said. "You're able to look at where the receivers align and the down-and-distances and all of that. When you're not thinking about what you have to do, you're able to look at a lot more." The results have been noticeable in camp so far, including interceptions on back-to-back days in practice.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Inactive Sunday
Adderley (ankle) will not play Sunday against the Vikings. Adderley was able to get in a limited practice Friday, but ultimately he will be unable to go Sunday. With the Chargers secondary dealing with multiple injuries, this is a big blow to the defense. Alohi Gilman and Trey Marshall will now see increased opportunity.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Considered questionable
Adderley (ankle) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Vikings. Adderley practiced in limited fashion Friday after being a non-participant for two straight days prior. Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports that his possible availability is currently "50/50," which means he will be a game-time decision.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Full participant Wednesday
Adderley (hip) was listed as a full participant for the Chargers' practice Wednesday. Adderley was unable to play for the Chargers in Week 6 against the Ravens after he suffered a hip injury in practice. The safety has reportedly gotten closer to being able to return coming out of the team's Week 7 bye. Expect Adderley to be able to suit up for Week 8 against the Patriots, barring any setbacks.... Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Leads team in tackles
Adderley (shoulder) tallied nine tackles (eight solo) in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Cowboys. Adderley managed to suit up despite failing to practice all week with a shoulder injury suffered in Week 1. The third-year safety didn't seem fazed, racking up a career-high nine tackles, although most came after the Cowboys broke through the team's front seven. The 2019 second-round pick has looked comfortable in his second season as the starting free safety but likely won't be a consistent source for tackles in IDP leagues given his status as a cover safety.... Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Won't suit up Thursday
Adderley (shoulder) is officially inactive for Thursday's divisional matchup with Las Vegas. Adderley failed to practice Wednesday due to the back injury and came into the game deemed doubtful, so this news isn't quite surprising. Adderley suffered the shoulder injury in last week's win over the Falcons, but he'll get a few extra days of rest to prepare for Week 16 against Denver. With the second-year pro sidelined, look for Jahleel Addae to draw the start at free safety for Week 15.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Team high in tackles
Adderley registered a team-high eight tackles (all solo) in Sunday's 29-21 loss to the Dolphins. Adderley has quietly put together an excellent debut after seeing his rookie season essentially wiped out due to injury. The Chargers tend to deploy their safeties in a number of different ways, making it hard to count on any sort of guaranteed tackle totals, but it's worth nothing Adderley has registered 20 tackles over the last three weeks and should have had his second career interception on a tipped pass if not for an overzealous Willie Mays-style backward attempt by a teammate. Against a run-oriented Jets offense, expect to see plenty of Adderley again in Week 11.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Lands on injured reserve
Adderley (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Saturday. Adderley will see his rookie season come to a premature end, having only played 10 defensive snaps in four games. The 2019 second-round pick was expected to be a critical factor in the Chargers' secondary depth, but a hamstring injury prior to training camp ultimately forced him to miss the opening three exhibition contests. After playing in four regular-season games, the injury will now cost Adderley the rest of the campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Won't face Bears
Adderley (hamstring) was ruled out for Sunday's game at Chicago. Adderley didn't practice this week and will miss his fourth consecutive game. The 22-year-old played only 10 defensive snaps through four games before suffering the injury, so his absence is unlikely to significantly impact the Chargers.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Doubtful for Week 6
Adderley (hamstring) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. There's still a glimmer of hope that Adderley will play, but he was also listed as doubtful last week against the Broncos before ultimately sitting that one out. Adderley was unable to practice Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nasir Adderley: Hamstring injury non issue
Adderley (hamstring) is expected to be healthy for the start of training camp, Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com reports. The 2019 second-round pick missed all of mandatory minicamp due to a hamstring issue, joining 2019 first-round pick Jerry Tillery as two members of the Chargers' draft class yet to take the field. Even still, Adderley is expected to compete with Rayshawn Jenkins for the vacated starting free safety spot left by the release of Jahleel Addae. What that role means alongside emerging second-year safety Derwin James and the similarly skilled Adrian Phillips remains to be seen, but that entirely depends on the health of the aforementioned second-round pick....
