Urban recorded two tackles in the Bears' 21-9 loss to the Saints in the wild-card round. In his seventh season in the league, Urban set career highs with 36 tackles and 2.5 sacks over 369 snaps in a rotational role. A 16-game starter for the Ravens last season, Urban will now be reunited with Titans defensive coordinator Dean Pees, who held the same role in Baltimore from 2012 to 2017. Urban should push DaQuan Jones for a starting job at defensive end in Tennessee's 3-4 scheme, while rookie first-round pick Jeffery Simmons (knee) will focus on his rehab from a torn ACL suffered in February. The Titans now have solid depth across from Jurrell Casey, who is working on six consecutive seasons with at least five sacks.... See More ... See Less -
Brent Urban: Checking out Tennessee
Urban visited the Titans on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Urban was a starter for Baltimore in 2018, but the team didn't re-sign him in March. Urban (biceps) has been cleared to return to practice. Urban landed on the Ravens' injured reserve/designated to return list after tearing his biceps during training camp, which followed a torn ACL that caused him to miss all of his rookie campaign last year. Now healthy after being sidelined for half of this season, Urban has been given the green light to return to practice this week, although it's unclear if he'll be ready to play already this Sunday against the Jaguars.
