  • Cubs' Christopher Morel: Emerges from fall uninjured

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Morel "is fine" after exiting Saturday's game versus the Red Sox after the seventh inning following a fall in the outfield, CHGO Cubs reports.

Morel toppled over left fielder Alexander Canario after making a running catch and landed hard on the ground, banging up his elbows and right hip. He looked to be in some pain and was removed from the game at that point. However, it sounds like he probably would've remained in if the score hadn't been so lopsided. It's possible the Cubs will hold Morel out Sunday if he's still a bit sore, but it does not appear fantasy managers need to have any real worry about his status.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | WAS

Nationals' Nick Senzel: Returns to lineup Saturday

Senzel (illness) will serve as the Nationals' designated hitter Saturday against the Marlins.

A stomach illness has kept Senzel from playing in Washington's last two games, but the issue appears to have subsided prior to Saturday's contest. The 28-year-old is slashing .200/.259/.440 with two homers across 27 plate appearances this season.

  • Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Gets breather Saturday

Candelario isn't in the Reds' lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers.

Candelario will get a chance to clear his head Saturday after going 0-for-15 with eight strikeouts across his last five games. Santiago Espinal will step in to cover third base instead while batting ninth.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Not starting Saturday

Muncy isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Saturday versus Toronto.

The lefty-hitting Muncy will step out of the lineup Saturday with lefty starter Yusei Kikuchi on the mound for the Blue Jays. Enrique Hernandez will fill in at third base and bat sixth.

  • Cubs' Christopher Morel: Tallies two hits Friday

Morel went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the Red Sox.

Morel has been scuffling a bit lately, as he's batting just .176 over his last 10 games with no home runs, and he has just three long balls overall this season across 25 contests. Still, the 24-year-old is a legitimate power threat, and even though he hasn't really gotten going in that department yet, he can heat up in a hurry and hit homers in bunches.

  • Joseph Ortiz 3B | MIL

Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Notches first MLB homer

Ortiz went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and four RBI during Friday's win over the Yankees.

Ortiz was able to finally check off his first MLB home run with a two-run shot off Luis Gil in the second inning, and he delivered an RBI single in the 11th inning to give the Brewers the win in walk-off fashion. The 25-year-old infielder has been struggling at the plate recently, going just 1-for-15 across his last five games prior to Friday's contest, though his above-average defense at third base should allow him to continue starting on a consistent basis.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Launches fifth homer

Muncy went 3-for-6 with a three-run homer and an additional run scored in Friday's 12-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Muncy broke the game open in the third inning by taking Chris Bassitt deep, extending the Dodgers' lead to 6-0. The 33-year-old Muncy is now 5-for-9 in his last two contests after going 0-for-10 in his previous four. Overall, he's slashing .258/.361/.494 with five homers, 18 RBI and 16 runs scored through 26 games this season.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Collects three hits

Bohm went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Friday's win over San Diego.

Bohm doubled and scored in the first inning and later added an RBI single in the fourth. He has multiple hits in five of his last six games, going 15-for-26 (.577) with seven doubles in the process. Bohm has boosted his slash line to a robust .347/.431/.568 with 14 extra-base hits and 22 RBI through 109 plate appearances.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | WAS

Nationals' Nick Senzel: Out again Friday

Senzel (illness) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game versus the Marlins.

Senzel was a late scratch from Thursday's lineup due to illness and will now miss a second straight start. The Nationals will use Trey Lipscomb as a fill-in at third base.

  • Zack Short 3B | NYM

Mets' Zack Short: Removed from 40-man roster

Short was designated for assignment by the Mets on Friday.

Short is clearing out as J.D. Martinez is added to the Mets' active roster. The 28-year-old utility player had received just 12 plate appearances this month with the big club, picking up one hit. It's possible he'll draw some interest from a team seeking defensive versatility.
