Colbert was released by the Jets Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Colbert hasn't played with the Jets since suffering a concussion in their Week 4 win over the Titans. The fifth-year pro has already played for four different teams in his career and will now likely be looking for his fifth. Colbert has 16 tackles (10 solo) while playing 151 defensive snaps across four games this season.... See More ... See Less

Jets' Adrian Colbert: Off New York's injury report
Colbert (concussion) wasn't listed on the Jets' injury report Wednesday. Colbert suffered a concussion in the Jets' Week 4 win over the Titans and has finally been taken off his team's injured report. The safety has been a key piece for the Jets' secondary so far this season and his return to the field is a positive sign. Expect Colbert to be the main backup behind Ashtyn Davis and Sharrod Neasman for the Jets' Week 7 game against the Patriots.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Adrian Colbert: Ruled out for Week 5
Colbert (concussion) is out Sunday against the Falcons, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Colbert won't travel with the team to London after suffering a concussion in the middle of the Jets' Week 4 matchup against Tennessee. He has been a key part of the team's secondary to this point, logging over a 50 percent snap rate in two of the three games in which he's been fully healthy. Colbert has logged 16 total tackles through four contests.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Adrian Colbert: Signs with Gang Green
The Jets signed Colbert to their active roster Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Colbert has been elevated from the practice squad before each game this season and has registered eight total tackles. The Jets will keep him permanently on their active roster as they are currently dealing with a litany of injuries to their secondary.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Adrian Colbert: No longer a Patriot
Colbert was released by the Patriots on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. If Colbert had made the Patriots roster, it would have marked his third team in the last three seasons. The 26-year-old will try to find a home elsewhere for the 2021 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Adrian Colbert: Finds new home
Colbert inked a contract with the Patriots on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The 27-year-old spent last season with the Giants, as he supplied 22 tackles (16 solo) across six games in an injury-plagued campaign. Colbert will likely handle a reserve safety role for the Patriots behind Devin McCourty and Jalen Mills should he make the roster.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Adrian Colbert: Inactive Thursday
Colbert (shoulder) won't play Thursday against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Colbert will miss a second consecutive game due to his shoulder injury. With 11 days between Thursday's game and New York's Week 8 Monday Night Football matchup against the Buccaneers, the safety will have an extended period to heal up.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Adrian Colbert: Listed as questionable
Colbert (neck) is considered questionable for Sunday's game versus the Cowboys, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Colbert was limited in practice all week after suffering a neck injury Week 4 against the Rams. The 27-year-old safety played 75 percent of the team's defensive snaps in that game, but that workload isn't expected to keep up barring other injuries. If he misses time, the Giants' special teams will be most impacted.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Adrian Colbert: Officially ruled out Sunday
Colbert (quadriceps) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the 49ers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Colbert was considered doubtful, so it's not surprising that he'll miss a second straight game. Nate Ebner played a handful of defensive snaps in Colbert's place in Week 2 and will likely follow a similar pattern Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Adrian Colbert: Unlikely to play Sunday
Colbert (quadriceps) is considered doubtful for Sunday's game versus the 49ers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Colbert will likely sit out for a second consecutive game. The Giants' secondary is otherwise healthy, so his probable absence shouldn't shake up the defensive dynamic.... See More ... See Less -
Adrian Colbert: Set to join Chiefs
Colbert intends to sign with the Chiefs as soon as he passes mandatory COVID-19 testing protocols, Terez A Paylor of Yahoo Sports reports. Colbert played six games with the Dolphins last season, recording 22 tackles (16 solo) and two passes defensed. He'll shore up the Chiefs' depth at safety upon officially signing with the team.... Adrian Colbert: Cut by Dolphins
The Dolphins waived Colbert on Saturday, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports. Colbert began the 2019 season on the Seahawks' practice squad and ended it by starting Miami's final five regular-season games, recording 22 tackles and two pass breakups in the process. The Dolphins rewarded the 26-year-old with a one-year, $1.775 million contract in March, but they've shown him the door early in training camp. Colbert will likely find a landing spot before the season commences, although he projects as a depth asset elsewhere.... See More ... See Less -
Adrian Colbert: Waived by Seahawks
Colbert was waived by the Seahawks on Friday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. The Seahawks also placed offensive lineman Ethan Pocic (back) on injured reserve, clearing roster spots for tight end Jacob Hollister and offensive guard Jordan Roos. Colbert was signed off the practice squad in late September, but did not record a statistic during his time on the active roster.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Adrian Colbert: Not candidate to return
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Colbert (ankle) will miss the rest of the regular season after being placed on injured reserve, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Colbert would technically be eligible to return from IR in Week 16 if he makes a full recovery from his right high-ankle sprain, but Shanahan dismissed the possibility of the 49ers activating him. Instead, it appears the 49ers may be earmarking their two designated-to-return spots for safety Marcell Harris (hamstring) and linebacker Dekoda Watson (hamstring), both of whom are further along in their respective recoveries from injury. With Colbert out of the mix, rookie D.J. Reed will earn the first look as the 49ers' starting free safety.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Adrian Colbert: Placed on IR
The 49ers placed Colbert (ankle) on injured reserve Monday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. Upon further examination, it was determined that Colbert is nursing a right high-ankle sprain. Colbert's timetable for a return is estimated at about 6-to-8 weeks, which prompted San Francisco to put the safety on IR to open up a roster spot. According to the report, Colbert is an unlikely candidate to return this season. All signs point to D.J. Reed taking over as the 49ers' starting free safety with Colbert out of the mix.... 49ers' Adrian Colbert: Suffers right ankle injury
Colbert was diagnosed with a right ankle injury after exiting Sunday's 39-10 loss to the Rams in the third quarter, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Colbert picked up the injury when he collided with teammate Ahkello Witherspoon while both were vying for a potential interception early in the second half. The free safety played 34 defensive snaps before departing, finishing with one tackle and one pass breakup.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Adrian Colbert: Limited participant Thursday
Colbert (hip) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Colbert sat out Wednesday's practice after suffering a hip injury against the Chiefs last week. The 25-year-old's return to action -- albeit in a limited fashion -- keeps his Week 4 prospects alive, and Friday's practice should provide a clearer picture for his availability against the Chargers. Rookie free safety D.J. Reed would likely start if Colbert is unable to go Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Adrian Colbert: Sports questionable designation
Colbert (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Colbert's injury surfaced when he didn't practice Thursday. The severity is still unclear, but a questionable tag gives him a good shot of playing, even if he's limited in some capacity. The second-year pro played 71 snaps in Week 1 and made five tackles.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Adrian Colbert: Clear of concussion protocol
Colbert (concussion) has cleared the league-mandated concussion protocol, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated Colbert will be available for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. It appears the 24-year-old will not miss any game action after entering the concussion protocol following last week's win over the Titans.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Adrian Colbert: Enters concussion protocol
Colbert displayed concussion-like symptoms following Sunday's game versus the Titans and is in the league-mandated protocol for head injuries, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Colbert played all 64 defensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Titans, but he apparently showed symptoms after the game. The 24-year-old must progress through the concussion protocol and should be considered questionable for Week 16 until he clears it.... See More ... See Less
