Player Outlook
McLaughlin averaged the 10th-most Fantasy points per game among kickers despite playing in a disappointing Colts offense. This should give you reason for hope as he moves over to another disappointing offense in Tampa. However, you're likely to find better options at kicker and McLaughlin is best left on your waiver wire to start the season and only to be used as a streamer in the right matchups.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Bounces back in Week 12 loss

McLaughlin converted field-goal attempts of 21 and 24 yards while also drilling both his extra-point tries in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Colts. McLaughlin had been limited to just two PATs in the Week 11 loss to the 49ers, so Sunday represented a welcome bump in opportunity. McLaughlin now boasts a career-high 90.5 percent (19-for-21) success rate on field-goal attempts this season, and he's yet to miss any of his 19 extra-point tries. However, the Buccaneers' struggles on offense continue to cap his overall production, although a seemingly favorable matchup awaits in Week 13 in the form of a visit from the lowly Panthers.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Limited to PATs in loss

McLaughlin did not record any field-goal attempts and made both his extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 27-14 loss to the 49ers on Sunday. McLaughlin had been on a nice roll coming into Sunday's game, having logged multiple field-goal attempts in six straight contests. However, the 49ers defense did a number on Tampa Bay's offense most of the afternoon, causing two turnovers, forcing three punts and booting the Bucs off the field on downs in two other instances. Nevertheless, McLaughlin should have a solid chance for a resurgence in a Week 12 road matchup against a Colts defense that figures to provide much less resistance to Baker Mayfield and his weapons.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Kicker to Start

McLaughlin is coming off an amazing game against Houston in Week 9 with three made field goals, including a 55-yarder, and four PATs. He did not miss a kick. This week, he gets to face a Titans team that allows the most Fantasy points to opposing kickers. Five kickers have made at least three field goals against Tennessee this season, and seven of eight kickers have scored at least 8.0 Fantasy points. I like McLaughlin as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy kicker in Week 10.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Productive in high-scoring loss

McLaughlin made field-goal attempts of 35, 49 and 55 yards and drilled all four extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 39-37 loss to the Texans on Sunday. One week after logging just two field-goal attempts and having one blocked, McLaughlin was the other end of the spectrum in terms of opportunity. The high-scoring affair led to McLaughlin racking up a season-high 13 points while connecting on his fourth field goal of 50+ yards this season. McLaughlin has proven quite the find for Tampa Bay, missing just two of 30 total kicks and offering stellar long-range accuracy. McLaughlin could be in for another busy afternoon in a Week 10 home matchup against the Titans.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Long field goal in Week 8 loss

McLaughlin connected on a 57-yard field goal but had a 50-yard attempt blocked in the Buccaneers' 24-18 loss to the Bills on Thursday night. He made his only extra-point try. McLaughlin had the elation of tying a career best with his 57-yard field goal partly offset by the blocked attempt, but he continues to be a highly reliable real-world scoring option for the Buccaneers. That's slightly less the case from a fantasy perspective, considering McLaughlin has logged as many as three field-goal attempts just once this season and has attempted two extra points overall over the last three games. The fifth-year pro could have more opportunities to put points on the board in a Week 9 road matchup against a Texans defense that is beatable enough to give up some yardage but sufficiently stout so as to force some field-goal attempts.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Perfect in Week 7 loss

McLaughlin drilled field-goal attempts from 24 and 36 yards and made his only extra-point attempt in the Buccaneers' 16-13 loss to the Falcons on Sunday. McLaughlin pushed his streak of perfect kicking performances to four games with Sunday's showing. The fifth-year pro has seen a pair of field-goal opportunities apiece in three consecutive contests, but with the Buccaneers hitting plenty of snags offensively over the last two games, his only extra-point attempt in that span was the one he converted against the Falcons. McLaughlin could have an uphill battle for scoring opportunities again in Thursday night's Week 8 road matchup against the Bills.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Six points in Week 6 loss

McLaughlin made field-goal attempts from 33 and 36 yards and did not attempt any extra points in the Buccaneers' 20-6 loss to the Lions on Sunday. The Buccaneers offense offered McLaughlin scant opportunities to put points on the board, but he made good on the two chances he did see. Both of the veteran kicker's made field goals were close calls to varying degree, and McLaughlin now boasts a 90.0 percent success rate on his 10 field-goal attempts and has made all seven point-after tries heading into a Week 7 home divisional clash against the Falcons.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Limited opportunity in Week 3 loss

McLaughlin drilled his only field-goal attempt, which came from 33 yards, and didn't attempt any extra points in the Buccaneers' 25-11 loss to the Eagles on Monday night. A week after he attempted six total kicks in a win against the Bears, McLaughlin had a quiet night thanks to an Eagles defense that mostly clamped down on the Buccaneers' ground and air attacks. Tampa Bay also went for a two-point conversion after its only touchdown, leaving McLaughlin and his fantasy managers looking ahead to what could be a more favorable scenario in a Week 4 road dome matchup against the Saints.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Solid showing in Week 2 win

McLaughlin made two of three field-goal attempts (26 and 25 yards) and all three extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 27-17 win over the Bears on Sunday. He also had a 40-yard field-goal attempt blocked. The block came on the first play of the second quarter and served as the only blemish on McLaughlin's afternoon, and season, thus far. McLaughlin's two field-goal tries Sunday were essentially chip shots, but he has already proven his long-distance prowess once this season by nailing a 57-yarder in the Week 1 win over the Vikings. McLaughlin may have fewer overall opportunities Week 3, however, as a tough Eagles defense comes to town for a showdown next Monday night.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Perfect showing in Week 1 win

McLaughlin drilled field-goal attempts from 36 and 57 yards and also connected on both his extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 20-17 win over the Vikings on Sunday. The Bucs couldn't have asked for a better regular-season debut performance from their new placekicker, with McLaughlin particularly impressing with his critical 57-yard make that snapped a 17-17 tie with 5:10 remaining and proved to be the final margin of victory. McLaughlin could potentially have plenty of games with 4-to-6 total kick attempts if a Buccaneers offense that undeniably has talent but a somewhat inconsistent quarterback in Baker Mayfield helming it continues to perform in similar fashion to Sunday. McLaughlin could have even more opportunities during a Week 2 home matchup against a Bears team that allowed a short-handed Packers squad to ring up 34 points against them Sunday.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Stellar finish to preseason

McLaughlin connected on field goals of 47, 27, 38 and 48 yards while also drilling both extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 26-20 preseason win over the Ravens on Saturday night. McLaughlin commemorated his victory over Rodrigo Blankenship in their summer job battle by validating the coaching staff's decision with a perfect showing. The fifth-year pro could be a valuable fantasy asset if he can improve on his career 78.8 percent field-goal conversion rate, considering he'll be attached to a Buccaneers offense that boasts superior pass-catching talent but is helmed by arguably only a slightly above-average quarterback in Baker Mayfield.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Lone kicker on roster

Tampa Bay waived Rodrigo Blankenship on Monday, leaving McLaughlin as the team's only kicker, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports. McLaughlin and Blankenship had been competing to succeed Ryan Succop, who the Bucs let go in March. Assuming no other kickers are brought in by the team, McLaughlin is slated to handle the Week 1 assignment, with his fantasy upside this coming season tied to how the team's offense fares while being helmed by either Baker Mayfield or Kyle Trask.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Limited to extra points Friday

McLaughlin converted both extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 27-17 preseason loss to the Steelers on Friday. He did not record any field-goal attempts. McLaughlin's competition for the placekicker job, Rodrigo Blankenship, successfully handled the Buccaneers' lone field-goal attempt from 35 yards out. Consequently, the battle between the two kickers seemingly remains as tight as ever heading into another week of training camp practices ahead of next Saturday's road preseason matchup against the Jets.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Kicking competition close early

McLaughlin and his competitor for the starting placekicker job, Rodrigo Blankenship, have been running very close in their job battle heading into Friday's preseason opener versus the Steelers, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports. Both kickers already have a solid amount of NFL experience on their resumes, so the battle could well extend clean through the third preseason game. The two are likely to split field-goal and extra-point opportunities Friday, and Smith reports that Wednesday's dead-even kicking derby in practice that saw both players go a perfect 4-for-4 on attempts of varying distances was emblematic of how close the competition has been.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Will have notable camp competition

McLaughlin will engage in a training camp battle for the starting placekicker job with Rodrigo Blankenship, who signed with the Buccaneers on June 16, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports. The two kickers are familiar with each other, considering Blankenship beat out McLauglin for the right to replace the just-retired Adam Vinatieri during Colts training camp in 2020. McLaughlin then served as Blankenship's replacement last season in Indianapolis after the latter's release following Week 1. With both kickers having a solid amount of NFL experience in their young careers, the latest battle could come down to the final preseason game.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Wins kicking competition

McLaughlin is the lone kicker remaining on Tampa Bay's roster after the team waived Jake Verity on Wednesday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. Tampa Bay didn't make a corresponding move with Verity's release, so for the time being, McLaughlin looks set to head into training camp atop the depth chart. However, expect the Buccaneers to bring in another kicker to compete with McLaughlin at some point later in the offseason. Over the last two seasons, McLaughlin has gone 45-for-57 on field-goal tries and 57-for-58 on extra-point attempts.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Signing with Bucs

The Buccaneers have agreed to terms with McLaughlin, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. The 26-year-old is coming off a 2022 season in which he made 30 of 36 field-goal attempts in 16 games with the Colts. With Ryan Succop no longer in Tampa Bay, McLaughlin is slated to top his new team's kicker depth chart, with Jake Verity currently on hand as a depth option.

  • Colts' Chase McLaughlin: Big game in loss

McLaughlin made all five of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Week 15's 39-36 overtime loss to the Vikings. McLaughlin nailed field goals from 26, 28, 49, 27 and 52 yards, helping him rack up a season-high 18 points. With three games remaining this term, McLaughlin sports 97 points, ranking just outside the top 10 league-wide at his position.

  • Colts' Chase McLaughlin: Breaks miss streak

McLaughlin made both of his field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try in Sunday night's 54-19 loss to the Cowboys. McLaughlin converted from 52 and 34 yards on his field goals. With his perfect performance, McLaughlin snapped a streak of four straight games with a miss. Through 12 games, he now sports 79 points.

  • Colts' Chase McLaughlin: Misses one field goal in loss

McLaughlin converted one of two field-goal attempts and both his extra-point tries during Monday's 24-17 loss to the Steelers. McLaughlin converted a 51-yard field goal to get Indianapolis on the board midway through the first quarter, but he didn't see many more opportunities in the low-scoring primetime affair. It was McLaughlin's fifth consecutive game with at least two field-goal attempts, though he faces a difficult matchup against the Cowboys in Week 13.
