  • Panthers' Aleksander Barkov: Two points in Thursday's loss

Barkov produced a goal and an assist in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Islanders.

The 28-year-old center's efforts gave the Panthers 1-0 and 2-1 leads, but they couldn't solve Semyon Varlamov over the second half of the game. Barkov has a goal and three points in two games since returning from an undisclosed issue that cost him three contests, and on the season he's collected 19 goals and 69 points through 64 games.

  • Panthers' Anthony Stolarz: Win streak ends at six

Stolarz stopped 21 shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Islanders.

Florida twice grabbed one-goal leads, but Stolarz couldn't protect either one before being beaten by Jean-Gabriel Pageau midway through the second period for what proved to be the winner. The 30-year-old netminder saw his six-game win streak come to an end as he took his first loss since Feb. 6, and Stolarz hasn't given up more than three goals in an outing since Jan. 15, going 8-3-0 over 11 games since then with a 1.80 GAA and .937 save percentage.

  • Islanders' Casey Cizikas: Two helpers in Thursday's win

Cizikas notched two assists in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Panthers.

The 33-year-old helped set up a Ryan Pulock tally in the first period and a Mathew Barzal goal in the second. Cizikas hadn't had a multi-point performance since Feb. 29, and on the season the checking-line forward has only eight goals and 19 points through 60 games.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Two points including GWG

Pageau scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Thursday's 3-2 victory over the Panthers.

The 31-year-old center jumped on a loose puck and slid it past Anthony Stolarz midway through the second period, giving the Isles their first and only lead of the game. Pageau's last multi-point performance came March 2, and on the season he's produced 10 goals and 30 points in 72 contests. He's also tied his career high with 175 hits, and his 72 blocked shots has him seven back of matching his personal best in that category as well.

  • Islanders' Semyon Varlamov: Picks up win over Florida

Varlamov made 26 saves in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Panthers.

Florida took a 2-1 lead early in the second period, but Varlamov shut the door the rest of the way as the Isles rallied for a vital win as they try to stay in the playoff picture. The veteran netminder hasn't taken a regulation loss in March, going 3-0-1 on the month with a 2.47 GAA and .914 save percentage, and with Ilya Sorokin looking worn down while dropping six straight starts, Varlamov could find himself in a timeshare over the final weeks of the regular season.

  • Jake Evans C | MON

Canadiens' Jake Evans: Snaps scoring drought

Evans had a goal on one shot, one block and two penalty minutes in Thursday's 4-1 win over Philadelphia.

Evans put the capper on the victory, scoring Montreal's second empty-net goal with four seconds left. The tally snapped a 10-game scoring drought and was his sixth of the season. Evans has 24 points through 72 games.

  • Joel Armia RW | MON

    Canadiens' Joel Armia: Pockets empty-netter

Armia scored a goal on three shots, had an assist and blocked two shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Flyers.

It was a productive final three minutes for Armia, who logged an empty-net goal then assisted on a second tally with Philadelphia's goalie pulled. It was the second straight game with a goal for Armia, who is up to 13 tallies this season.

  • Jesse Ylonen RW | MON

Canadiens' Jesse Ylonen: Busts long drought

Ylonen scored a goal on one shot in Thursday's 4-1 win over Philadelphia.

It's been a while for Ylonen, who hadn't scored since Nov. 16, a span of 43 games. He was in the right place at the right time to take advantage of a rebound. Ylonen has four goals and four assists through 54 games.

  • Nick Suzuki C | MON

Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Reaches 30 goals

Suzuki scored a power-play goal on one shot, assisted on a goal and added two hits in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Flyers.

Suzuki scored Montreal's first goal and has tallies in three straight games, all Montreal wins. This one was special, as it was his 30th of the season; the Canadiens' top-line center has increased his goal scoring in successive seasons since entering the NHL as a 20-year-old in 2019-20. Suzuki has been on fire since just before the All-Star break, pouring in 32 points over 27 games.

  • Avalanche's Jean-Luc Foudy: Gets fourth-line duty

Foudy took nine shifts and had 4:33 of ice time in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Rangers.

Foudy was called up to replace Valeri Nichushkin (lower body) in the lineup but not on the second line. Foudy was limited to fourth-line duty in just his second NHL game this season.
