  • Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Six points in last four games

Aho scored twice Saturday in a 6-2 win over Buffalo. He put the Canes up 1-0 late in the first when he took a short pass from Seth Jarvis inside the blue line, skated to the right circle and wired a shot that beat Eric Comrie glove side. Aho's next goal came from the high slot on a power play with 1:06 left in the second period. It stood as the winner. It has Aho's 39th multi-goal game, moving him into fifth for most in Hurricanes/Hartford Whalers history. He's also riding a four-game, six-point streak (three goals, three assists).

  • Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: On three-game point streak

Aho contributed a goal in Carolina's 5-4 overtime loss to the Islanders on Thursday. Aho scored with just three seconds left in the third period to force the game into overtime. With that marker, he's recorded at least a goal in three straight contests and has scored in five of his last six outings. Aho's up to six goals and 20 points in 19 appearances this campaign. Given his shooting percentage is 10.3, which is noticeably below his career average of 14.8, it wouldn't be surprising to see his goal pace increase as the season progresses.

  • Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Two helpers in Tuesday's win

Aho recorded two assists while firing a game-high six shots on net in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Flyers. The 26-year-old helped set up Michael Bunting and Seth Jarvis for the Hurricanes' first and third goals of the night. Aho has been a rock for the Carolina offense in November, failing to get on the scoresheet only twice in 11 games while amassing four goals and 13 points, and he appears on track for the third 80-point campaign of his career.

  • Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Snags assist in Sunday's win

Aho recorded an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets. Aho has been steady in November with four goals and seven assists over 10 contests. He came up clutch Sunday, setting up Andrei Svechnikov's game-winning tally with 1:55 left in the third period. Aho continues to operate at a point-per-game pace with five goals, 12 helpers, 48 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through 17 contests. Considering he's reached 30 goals in four of the last five seasons, there's perhaps another level for him to reach in 2023-24 -- he's shooting just 10.4 percent so far.

  • Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Five-game, seven-point streak

Aho scored a goal and added an assist in a 4-0 win over the Lightning on Saturday. He set up Teuvo Teravainen on the power play at 3:10 of the first, and then scored his fourth of the season from the left circle off a feed from Andrei Svechnikov just 1:22 later. The points stretched Aho's scoring streak to five games and seven points (three goals, four assists). Aho has 13 points in 12 outings, and he is tied for the team lead in scoring. But he's shooting at just 10.5 percent, which is a step down from his career mark of 14.9. Expect this to correct itself, which could mean more goals will come eventually.

  • Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Two helpers against Buffalo

Aho picked up two assists in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Sabres. After recording a helper on Brady Skjei's third-period tally, Aho found Martin Necas wide open in front of the Buffalo net for a tip-in goal 90 seconds into OT. Aho has found the scoresheet in five of the last six games, and on the season he's racked up two goals and 10 points through 10 contests as he looks to return to the point-a-game pace he fell short of in 2022-23.

  • Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Out with upper-body injury

Aho (upper body) won't play Tuesday versus the Sharks. Aho saw 21:39 of ice time in Sunday's game versus the Ducks, so it's unclear when he was injured. The 26-year-old's absence means the Hurricanes will either have to dress seven defensemen or play a man short in this contest. He should be considered day-to-day ahead of Thursday's game in Seattle.

Aho signed an eight-year, $78 million contract extension with Carolina on Wednesday. The 26-year-old forward had 36 goals and 67 points in 75 outings last season. That campaign marked the fourth time in five years in which Aho had recorded at least 30 goals. He should continue to be one of Carolina's top offensive weapons through the life of this new contract.
