Jets' Duane Brown: Not available Week 16
Brown (back) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Commanders. Brown's name unexpectedly showed up on the injury report Friday due to a back injury, and the issue will cause him to miss Sunday's contest. Mekhi Becton will likely start at left tackle against Washington.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Duane Brown: Pops up on injury report
Brown (back) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders. The shoulder issue appears to have occurred during practice this week, and Brown's availability for Sunday's game is up in the air.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Duane Brown: Missing Week 11
Brown (hip) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Bills, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. The veteran offensive lineman has yet to be activated since he was designated to return from injured reserve in early November. Even though Brown logged a full week of practice, he still won't suit up this Sunday. Brown is expected to start at left tackle once he's ready to return to the field, and Mekhi Becton will likely be moved back to right tackle.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Duane Brown: Designated to return from IR
The Jets designated Brown (shoulder/hip) to return from injured reserve Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. It opens the 38-year-old's 21-day practice window, and Brown will practice Thursday. Brown started the first two games of the season for the Jets, playing 100 percent of the offensive snaps in each contest, but he's been out ever since. Mekhi Becton and Max Mitchell started at the tackle spots for the Jets last week against the Giants.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Duane Brown: Headed to IR
The Jets placed Brown (shoulder/hip) on injured reserve Saturday. Brown started in both games this season but missed practice this week while dealing with shoulder and hip injuries. He'll sit out for at least the next four games and is eligible to return Week 8 against the Giants on Sunday, Oct. 29. Billy Turner is set to take over at starting left tackle in Brown's absence.... Jets' Duane Brown: Return could be near
Brown (shoulder) is undergoing tests Monday and will be removed from the active/PUP list if he receives medical clearance, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports. Brown had offseason shoulder surgery and has been on the PUP list since training camp opened. However, it appears the veteran tackle may finally be nearing a return to the practice field with the team's season opener just three weeks away. The 37-year-old was expected to compete for a starting job, but his late entry into the competition may keep him in a reserve role to start the season.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Duane Brown: Still recovering from surgery
Head coach Robert Saleh told reporters Sunday that Brown (shoulder) is continuing to work through his offseason surgery and his return off of the PUP list will be "sooner than later," Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports. Because Brown was placed on the active/PUP list, he is eligible to practice and play in the preseason at any point. Brown missed the first four games of 2022 and elected to play through a shoulder injury for the remainder of the season before sitting out in Week 18. Once healthy, Brown is expected to compete for a starting tackle spot and will be a key protector for new Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Duane Brown: Recovering from shoulder surgery
Jets general manager Joe Douglas said Tuesday that Brown recently underwent a shoulder procedure, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports. Brown missed the first four games of the season with the same shoulder injury, but he played through the issue for the remainder of the 2022 campaign, albeit at less than 100 percent health. Though the 38-year-old should be fully recovered from surgery before Week 1 of the 2023 season, it's unclear if the veteran offensive tackle plans to keep playing or call it a career. With Brown perhaps contemplating retirement and Mekhi Becton (kneecap) also working back from injury, the Jets could look to move right tackle Alijah Vera-Tucker (triceps) to the left side of the offensive line.... Rich Cimini@RichCimini1H agoTime for the annual note on the #Jets/second-round picks (currently, they don't have one, but maybe that changes). The last second-round pick to make the Pro Bowl (not counting special teams) was DE Mark Gastineau, who was drafted in 1979. That's one long drought. Breece Hall…

Randy Lange@rlangejets7H agoJets at the moment don't draft tonight until Rd 3 #72. That would be lowest 2nd pick in a Jets draft since 2018, when they took DT Nate Shepherd also at #72. Last time lower: 2011 with DT Kenrick Ellis at #94. After Ellis Jets did well with RB Bilal Powell in Rd 4...

Rich Cimini@RichCimini7H agoIt wasn’t a great night for two former #Jets QBs, Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson. The Vikings made a panic trade and went up for J.J.
