  • Tristan Vizcaino: Let go by Dallas

Vizcaino was waived by the Cowboys on Monday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. Vizcaino struggled with his accuracy early in training camp, making just 22 of 35 kicks across Dallas' first eight practices. The only kicker remaining on the Cowboys' roster following Vizcaino's departure is Brandon Aubrey, who has made 26 of 35 attempts thus far.

  • Cowboys' Tristan Vizcaino: Signs with Dallas

The Cowboys signed Vizcaino on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Vizcaino joined the Cowboys' practice squad in mid-January after Brett Maher missed four extra-point attempts during Dallas' wild-card win over Tampa Bay. However, Maher remained the Cowboys' kicker for the divisional-round loss to Philadelphia, and Vizcaino's practice-squad deal expired after Dallas didn't offer him a futures contract at the end of January. Even so, Vizcaino will return to the organization about a month later and may have a chance at claiming the kicking job in 2023, given that Maher is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

  • Tristan Vizcaino: Deal with Dallas runs out

Vizcaino's practice squad contract with the Cowboys expired Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Vizcaino's short tenure with Dallas will come to an end less than two weeks after signing with the team's practice squad Jan. 18. The 26-year-old was brought in by the Cowboys after the team's starting kicker Brett Maher went 1-for-5 on extra-point attempts in the wild-card win over Tampa Bay. However, Vizcaino was not elevated for the subsequent loss to San Francisco in the divisional round, so he never wound up appearing in a game for Dallas. Vizcaino now will look to land a deal elsewhere heading into the 2023 campaign.

  • Tristan Vizcaino: Back to practice squad

Vizcaino reverted back to New England's practice squad Monday. The kicker played just four special-teams snaps handling all four kickoffs in Saturday's loss. He's played in three games with the Patriots this season, two strictly as a kickoff specialist.

  • Patriots' Tristan Vizcaino: To be elevated from practice squad

The Patriots are elevating Vizcaino from their practice squad ahead of Saturday's game against the Bengals, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Vizcaino offers the Patriots another option to handle kickoffs in Week 16, thus potentially easing the load on veteran placekicker Nick Folk, who has made 30-of-35 field-goal attempts for the team through 14 games to date.

  • Tristan Vizcaino: Back to practice squad

Vizcaino reverted to the Patriots' practice squad Friday, per the NFL's transaction log. Vizcaino was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for Week 13 and handled two of the Patriots' three kickoffs, with Nick Folk handling the lone onside try and all of the place-kicking responsibilities. Folk wasn't listed on the injury report ahead of Thursday's matchup with Buffalo, but he did leave a 46-yard attempt short to end the first half, which suggests he may be limited by some underlying issue. If that's the case, Vizcaino would be a candidate for elevation again in Week 14.

  • Patriots' Tristan Vizcaino: Up from practice squad

The Patriots have elevated Vizcaino from the team's practice squad ahead of Thursday night's game against the Bills, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Per Reiss, Vizcaino offers another option to handle kickoffs Thursday, thus potentially easing the load on veteran placekicker Nick Folk, who was not on the Patriots' Week 13 injury report.

  • Tristan Vizcaino: Returns to Patriots

Vizcaino was signed to the Patriots' practice squad Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. After going 5-for-5 on field-goal and extra-point opportunities while filling in at kicker for the Cardinals in Week 10, Vizcaino will return to New England's practice unit. The 26-year-old will once again serve as an emergency depth option behind Nick Folk.

  • Cardinals' Tristan Vizcaino: Makes all five kicks in Week 10

Vizcaino made both field-goal attempts and all three point-after tries during Sunday's 27-17 victory at the Rams. The Cardinals signed Vizcaino to the active roster Saturday before downgrading regular kicker Matt Prater (hip/illness) from questionable to out before Sunday's game. Vizcaino was perfect in his first appearance since Week 6 of the 2021 season as a member of the Chargers, and as long as he's employed by Arizona, he's a candidate to fill in for Prater.

  • Cardinals' Tristan Vizcaino: Kicking for Arizona in Week 10

Vizcaino will handle kicking duties for Arizona in Sunday's game against the Rams after Matt Prater (hip/illness) was downgraded from questionable to out for the contest, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Though Prater received a questionable tag Friday on the Cardinals' final Week 10 injury report, Arizona telegraphed that the veteran kicker wouldn't be available this weekend when Vizcaino was elevated from the practice squad Saturday after Prater didn't travel with the team to Los Angeles. Given that Prater has previously missed three games this season on account of the same hip issue, it's possible that he's dealing with a setback that could force him to miss additional time beyond Sunday's contest. A strong showing against the Rams would likely make Vizcaino the Cardinals' top option to step in at kicker if Prater ends up missing more games.

  • Tristan Vizcaino: Returns to practice squad

The Patriots re-signed Vizcaino to the practice squad Wednesday. Vizcaino has seven NFL appearances under his belt between the 49ers and Chargers, and he previously spent time on New England's practice squad this season. He's made nine of 10 field-goal attempts in his career.

  • Tristan Vizcaino: Let go by New England

Vizcaino was cut by the Patriots on Tuesday. Vizcaino was brought in by New England this June to provide extra depth at kicker this preseason. However, he was unsurprisingly unable to prove himself over returning starter Nick Folk, who made 78 of his 86 total kicking attempts last season. Vizcaino could ultimately return in a reserve role on the Patriots' practice squad, should he fail to secure a contract with an active roster elsewhere.

  • Patriots' Tristan Vizcaino: Inks deal with New England

The Patriots signed Vizcaino on Friday. Vizcaino worked out with the Patriots during the team's minicamp practices this week and apparently did enough to supplant Quinn Nordin, who hasn't been practicing this spring, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. With Nordin let go, Vizcaino will likely head into training camp as the primary backup to Nick Folk, who signed a two-year, $5 million deal this offseason.

  • Tristan Vizcaino: Working out with Pats

Vizcaino is participating in New England's minicamp this week, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Apparently the Ravens plan to work Vizcaino out next week too if he's not signed by then. The Patriots signed Nick Folk to a two-year, $5 million contract in March, and it's unlikely he's in any real danger of ceding his position as the team's placekicker to Vizcaino.

  • Tristan Vizcaino: Added to COVID-19 list

Vizcaino (undisclosed) was placed on the Chargers' practice squad COVID-19 list Thursday, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports. Vizcaino has been on the Chargers' practice squad since being cut by the team in late October. He'll now sidelined for at least several days, though he could be restored to the practice squad in relatively short order if he's vaccinated.

  • Tristan Vizcaino: Cut by Chargers

Vizcaino was waived by the Chargers on Tuesday, Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reports. Vizcaino missed his fifth extra point of the season Week 6 against the Ravens, and the Chargers are now deciding to go in a different direction after their bye week. The 25-year-old went 6-for-7 on field-goal attempts, with his miss coming from 44 yards out. Dustin Hopkins was signed by Los Angeles to take over kicking duties.

  • Chargers' Tristan Vizcaino: Another extra-point miss

Vizcaino missed his long extra-point attempt in Sunday's 34-6 loss to the Ravens. At this point the Chargers have some serious issues at kicker, a phrase that's been too often repeated over the years. While Vizcaino never got a chance to attempt a field goal given the dismal performance from the offense, he did tack on another missed extra point, his fifth miss in the last four games. There's been no talk about replacing Vizcaino at this stage of the season, but these types of errors likely can't be repeatable for much longer.

  • Chargers' Tristan Vizcaino: Gaffes nearly costly

Vizcaino made just three of his five extra-point attempts in Sunday's 47-42 win over the Browns. That's now four missed extra points over the last three weeks for the second-year kicker. While coach Brandon Staley expressed some level of confidence in Vizcaino, the Chargers' notorious kicking issues certainly appear to be coming to the surface once again. Given the high potency of the Chargers offense, Vizcaino might be a relevant fantasy asset if he's able to become more accurate.

  • Chargers' Tristan Vizcaino: Misses two more

Vizcaino made his only field-goal attempt but missed two of three extra-point tries in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Chiefs. Vizcaino had a costly miss in Week 2 and added pressure to Sunday's contest by failing on a couple PAT tries. Although the Chargers were able to hold on and win, Vizcaino's job security could be threatened if he continues to struggle. His 24-yard field goal and lone successful extra point Sunday brought his tally to 21 points through three games this season.

  • Chargers' Tristan Vizcaino: Good to go for Week 2

Vizcaino (illness) practiced fully Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Vizcaino was limited Thursday by a non-COVID illness, but he was able to bounce back Friday. The kicker could be in for a busy afternoon in what's expected to be one of the higher-scoring games of Week 2.
