Williams posted 10 tackles (all solo) in the Giants' loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
New York rested most of its starters in the contest, giving players unaccustomed to a major role a chance in the spotlight. Williams was one of those players -- he entered Sunday having been a healthy scratch in each of the previous five weeks. The second-year cornerback responded with a career-high 10 stops, but he's unlikely to see much (if any) action next Sunday in New York's wild-card matchup versus Minnesota.
Williams (knee) was not listed on the Giants' injury report Wednesday.
Williams was restored to the Giants' active roster Monday after taking the full 21-day window to practice while returning from the team's injured reserve. As a result, the second-year cornerback appears set to make his 2022 debut this Sunday against the Lions. Williams logged one tackle and played 47 of his 62 snaps on defense before suffering a season-ending torn ACL in Week 5 last season, so he'll likely slot into a reserve role alongside Nick McCloud and Cor'Dale Flott moving forward.

Williams tore his ACL in Week 5 last season, and he's still working his way back into game shape. He didn't participate in voluntary OTAs and hasn't yet been able to take the field during camp, but he still has a good chance of being ready for the start of the season. Williams is listed as a second-stringer on the Giants' first unofficial depth chart.

Williams suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Week 5 last season, so it's not surprising to see him sidelined this early in the offseason. It's possible the 2021 sixth-round pick remains sidelined heading into training camp as well.

The rookie sixth-round pick sustained the injury during Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, as the Giants endured a day of horrible injury luck. Williams should undergo surgery at some point and be moved to injured reserve.
