Jets' Jabari Zuniga: Lifted from IR
The Jets activated Zuniga (quadriceps) from injured reserve Wednesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports. Zuniga was placed on IR before Week 1, and now the team will have a chance to see what their rookie third-round pick can do on the field. The 23-year-old defensive end had strong measurables (4.64-second 40, 127-inch broad jump) at the combine after being a four-year star at Florida, and he should operate as a situational player behind starters Henry Anderson and Quinnen Williams.... The Jets placed Zuniga (quadriceps) on injured reserve Monday. The rookie third-round pick will be forced to miss at least the first three games, but he could be available for Week 4's clash against the Broncos. Zuniga is slated to start in a reserve role once he gets healthy, as Quinnen Williams and Henry Anderson are seemingly locked into starting roles to begin the year.... See More ... See Less -
Jets' Jabari Zuniga: Dealing with injury
Zuniga (quadriceps) sat out Friday's practice, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports. The rookie third-round pick looks primed for a consistent role as an edge rusher in the Big Apple, as he recorded notable combine measurables and a solid collegiate career at Florida. He'll have to overcome this quad injury first, but he'll have plenty of time with the team's season opener Sept. 13 against Buffalo.... See More ... See Less
