  • Bears' Lucas Patrick: Heads to IR

    Patrick (calf) was placed on the Bears' injured reserve list Saturday, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports. Patrick has been playing through a back injury since Nov. 19, but he popped up on the Bears' injury report Friday with a calf injury. He will now miss Chicago's regular-season finale against the Packers. In Patrick's absence, Dan Feeney is set to take over at center.

Patrick has made 18 appearances for Chicago since signing with the team back in 2022, starting 15 of those games.

Patrick likely suffered his back injury during the first half of today's game, and there's a slim chance that he's able to return. Dan Feeney has stepped in at center on the Bears' offensive line.

    Patrick was added to the Bears' injury report with a back issue and is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Chargers, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports. With Patrick now on the injury report, the Bears may have to shuffle their offensive line more than they already have. Cody Whitehair -- who is the usual starting center -- has shifted to right guard with Nate Davis (ankle) ruled out for Week 8. If Patrick is unable to play, Doug Kramer would fill in at the starting center position.
