Walker posted two tackles, including a sack, in the Bears' 17-9 loss to the Packers on Sunday. Playing on the fourth team in his seven-year career, Walker logged a career-high 688 snaps, which was 258 more snaps than the next-highest total. From a productivity standpoint, the veteran defensive end totaled 30 tackles, including 3.5 sacks. Going into his age-29 season, Walker has two years remaining on his contract with the Bears. If he retains his role in the defense, Walker will be a low-ceiling IDP option.... See More ... See Less

Bears' DeMarcus Walker: Full go Thursday
Walker (shin) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. The veteran defensive end popped up on Chicago's injury report Wednesday with a shin issue, but it seems as if he's already been able to move past it, as he was a full participant in Thursday's practice. Walker has had a solid season thus far, appearing in 14 games and logging 24 total tackles, including 2,0 sacks and an additional five tackles for loss.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' DeMarcus Walker: Nursing leg injury
Walker (leg) did not participate at practice Wednesday. Walker played a season-high 52 defensive snaps in Sunday's loss at Cleveland, so it's not immediately clear when he picked up the leg issue. He'll probably need to manage a full practice Thursday or Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into the weekend.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' DeMarcus Walker: Expected to start at defensive end
Walker is expected to be a key part of the revamped Chicago defense this season, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports. After recording seven sacks last year, the Bears signed Walker in free agency. However, he doesn't project to be a team's primary pass rusher. Once the team added Yannick Ngakoue in free agency, it potentially put Walker in a better situation with less attention spent on him by opposing offensive lines. This gives him a fair chance to have another productive season in the sack column.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' DeMarcus Walker: Agrees to deal with busy Bears
Walker agreed to a three-year, $21 million contract with the Bears, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Walker racked up a career-high seven sacks in 2022 with the Titans. The Bears will be Walker's fourth team, as the 28-year-old defensive lineman spent four years in Denver and one apiece in Houston and Tennessee before cashing in on his breakout season with this contract.... Titans' DeMarcus Walker: Two sacks Sunday
Walker recorded five tackles (four solo), including two sacks, in Sunday's 17-14 loss to the Chargers. Walker played a season-high 59 percent of Tennessee's defensive snaps with fellow edge defender Denico Autry (knee) sidelined Week 15. As a result, the sixth-year defensive end reached 6.5 tackles in the past eight weeks, setting a new career high in this category for Walker. The 28-year-old now ranks third on the team in sacks behind Jeffery Simmons (7.5) and Autry (seven), and he should continue serving a prominent role in this depleted corps of pass rushers Week 16 against Houston.... Texans' DeMarcus Walker: Moves back to IR
Walker (hamstring) was removed from the COVID list and returned to injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. Walker was placed on IR on Dec. 4 after picking up a hamstring injury in Week 12 against the Jets. How much Walker's move to the COVID list derailed his return is unknown, but he has been on IR for the minimum of three weeks. He'll try to return to the field soon and not end the season on IR.... Texans' DeMarcus Walker: Shifts to COVID list
The Texans placed Walker (undisclosed) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. Walker was already on IR due to an undisclosed injury and ruled out for Week 15. He will now face the additional hurdle of having to fully clear the league's COVID protocols before returning to team facilities.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' DeMarcus Walker: Placed on injured reserve
Walker (hamstring) was placed on IR on Saturday, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports. Walker was injured in Week 12 against the Jets and was unable to practice all week, which led to him being ruled out for Week 13 on Friday. The move to IR guarantees he will miss the next three weeks and will lead to added opportunity for either Roy Lopez (illness) or Jaleel Johnson.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' DeMarcus Walker: Set to join Houston
Walker has indicated that he's signing with the Texans, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. Walker visited the Texans for a workout, and apparently the two sides worked out a deal during that time. The details of Walker's contract have not yet been made available, but he figures to play at least a rotational role on Houston's defensive line after recording 4.0 sacks in 2019 and 4.5 sacks in 2020, both with the Broncos.... Broncos' DeMarcus Walker: Placed on injured reserve
The Broncos placed Walker (hamstring) on injured reserve Wednesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports. Walker played 17 defensive snaps in Week 1 and didn't record a tackle, and he was hurt early in this past Sunday's game against the Steelers. He's eligible to return in Week 6 against the Dolphins, but the Broncos have iffy depth going forward, as Jurrell Casey and Shelby Harris are the only remaining defensive ends. The team will likely bring in reinforcements as a result.... See More ... See Less -
Broncos' DeMarcus Walker: Expected to miss several weeks
Walker (calf) is expected to miss several weeks according to head coach Vic Fangio. Walker will remain on the active roster while he misses time. The defensive end suffered the calf injury in Week 2's loss to the Steelers. The Broncos are dealing with a handful of injuries along the defensive line, including Dre'Mont Jones (knee) and Jonathan Harris (illness), so they may look to bring in some extra help while Walker remains sidelined.... Broncos' DeMarcus Walker: Will not return Week 2
Walker (calf) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Steelers, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. The Florida State product garnered 21 percent of the defensive snaps Week 1 against the Titans, but Vic Fangio's unit will now be forced to search elsewhere for depth defensive end snaps. Dre'Mont Jones will likely see a resulting uptick in usage behind starters Jurrell Casey and Shelby Harris.... See More ... See Less -
Broncos' DeMarcus Walker: Questionable for Sunday
Walker (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. Walker returned to a limited practice Thursday to earn the questionable tag. Jonathan Harris could see extra playing time if Walker is forced to sit out.... See More ... See Less -
Broncos' DeMarcus Walker: No practice Wednesday
Coach Vic Fangio said Wednesday that Walker (ankle) is not practicing, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. Walker missed Week 15's loss to the Chiefs due to an ankle issue, and he's yet to make tangible progress in his recovery. He'll almost certainly need to resume practicing in some capacity ahead of Sunday's tilt against the Lions for any chance of retaking the field.... See More ... See Less -
Broncos' DeMarcus Walker: Questionable for Sunday
Walker (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. Walker worked as a limited practice participant this week and was unable to show enough to avoid the questionable tag. Jonathan Harris would likely see increased reps as a rotational defensive end should Walker be unable to play.... See More ... See Less -
Broncos' DeMarcus Walker: Gets after quarterback
Walker generated a tackle, a sack and two quarterback hits during Thursday's 14-10 win over Atlanta. After being drafted in the second round of the 2017 draft, Walker has moved all around the front and had picked up just two regular-season sacks and one preseason sack entering Thursday. He seems to be settling into Vic Fangio's scheme and, though his stats from Thursday won't amaze, they illustrate the sort of steady improvement Walker has reportedly made this offseason in his pursuit to fit into the Broncos' defensive-line rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Broncos' DeMarcus Walker: Occupies second team
Walker is listed as Denver's backup right defensive end on the team's first official depth chart. Walker looked like an intriguing prospect coming out of Florida State as the nation's sack leader in 2017 but has garnered just two sacks in two season under Denver's old regime. Walker seems to be turning a corner in head coach Vic Fangio's scheme, even garnering first-team reps this week. He could see an expanded role as a pass-rush specialist this season and then vie to potentially replace Derek Wolfe and/or Adam Gotsis in 2020.... See More ... See Less -
Broncos' DeMarcus Walker: Moving back to defensive end
Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said Walker will move back to defensive end in 2018, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports. Walker, a second-round pick last April, has spent most of his playing career in the three-point stance, but was forced into more action at outside linebacker role during his rookie season in Denver after injuries thinned the ranks at that position. The Florida State product wasn't especially effective at the new position, finishing the season with just seven tackles and one sack over 10 games. Moving back to the defensive line may give Walker a less direct path to playing time in 2018, but he should at least be more comfortable and productive when he's on the field.... See More ... Broncos' DeMarcus Walker: Absent from injury report
Walker (hip) was not present on the Broncos injury report Thursday. Walker had been dealing with a hip strain since mid-August, but seems to be fully healthy with Week 1 right around the corner. The 22-year-old could be in for an increased role in the early part of the season with Shane Ray (wrist) out at least eight weeks on injured reserve.... See More ... See Less
