Honzek (lower body) is expected to play for WHL Vancouver on Friday, Steve Ewen of The Vancouver Province reports.
Honzek has not played yet this season after getting hurt in a preseason game while in Flames camp. The 19-year-old was given a 6-8 week timeline to return when he reported to his junior club in mid-October, and his return at the end of the week is right in that window.

Honzek's injury stems from the preseason when he was hurt in an exhibition contest. The 18-year-old winger will rehab in Calgary before presumably returning to WHL Vancouver once he's ready to play.

Flames' Samuel Honzek: Sustains injury Wednesday
Honzek (undisclosed) is considered day-to-day after exiting Wednesday's preseason game versus the Oilers, Eric Francis of Sportsnet reports.
Honzek didn't play after the first period of the Flames' 7-2 loss. The 18-year-old winger was selected 16th overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. He is expected to play with WHL Vancouver this season, though he'll need to shake off this injury before he can take the ice again.
