    Murray agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with Dallas on Thursday.

    Murray had a 2.37 GAA and a .911 save percentage in 34 AHL contests with Texas in 2022-23. He also posted a 1-2-0 record, 3.39 GAA and .844 save percentage in three outings with Dallas. With Jake Oettinger and Scott Wedgewood likely to occupy the starting and backup spots, respectively, in Dallas, Murray is projected to start the 2023-24 campaign in the minors.

    Murray made 21 saves in a 3-1 loss to Vancouver on Saturday.

    Dakota Joshua scored a shorthanded goal on a 2-on-1 break late in the first. Brock Boeser netted a goal early in the second on a give-and-go, and Jack Rathbone scored on a one-timer form the high slot less than two minutes later. Murray has made three starts this season, all this month. He has lost two straight to the Orcas, surrendering eight goals in that span. He won his debut against the Hawks at the start of March. The Stars' net belongs to Jake Oettinger, and Murray is unlikely to get many more starts this season.

  • Stars' Matt Murray: Slated to start Saturday

    Murray is expected to start at home versus Vancouver on Saturday, according to Bruce LeVine of Dallas Hockey Now.

    Murray, who was recalled from AHL Texas on Friday, stopped just 14 of 19 shots in a 5-2 loss to the Canucks on March 14, so this is a chance for him to get revenge. At the AHL level, he's posted a 2.27 GAA and a .913 save percentage in 31 contests with Texas this season. Vancouver has the 11th-ranked offense with 3.35 goals per game in 2022-23.
