McCann has a goal and an assist over three games since he returned from a six-game absence. He's been eased in a bit, but he's still capable of being productive for the Kraken, who often roll four lines anyway. The 26-year-old is at three points, 20 shots on net, eight hits and a minus-2 rating through seven playoff contests.

Kraken's Jared McCann: Scores first playoff goal
McCann scored in his second game back from injury Thursday; however, it wasn't enough as the Kraken lost to the Stars, 5-2.
Though he scored 40 goals this season and has played 18 postseason games in his career, this was his first-ever playoff goal. Even more significant than the goal, however, was his deployment. In his first game back from an undisclosed injury, McCann played limited minutes in a depth role. On Thursday, he was moved up the lineup and looked more comfortable in an important role on the team, logging 17:33 of ice time, with 1:47 of it coming on the power play.

McCann (undisclosed) took line rushes during warmups, suggesting he is good to go for Tuesday's Game 4 versus the Stars, per Sound of Hockey.
McCann was on the fourth line in warmups, skating alongside Ryan Donato and Brandon Tanev. It's possible McCann's minutes are limited early in the contest as he makes his return from a six-game absence. With Tye Kartye in McCann's usual spot on the top line, there's a decent chance those two forward lines could be fluid throughout this contest.

Coach Dave Hakstol wouldn't go so far as to confirm McCann would be in the lineup versus the Stars, but the center appears to be trending in the right direction. Prior to his absence, the 26-year-old Ontario native was mired in a six-game goal drought dating back to April 10 versus Arizona.

McCann (undisclosed) skated on his own Saturday, Alison Lukan of Root Sports reports.
McCann skated before practice in a non-contact jersey. He was injured in Game 4 of the opening round on a late hit from Colorado defenseman Cale Makar. McCann has missed the last four games and remains without a concrete return timetable. The forward led the Kraken with 40 goals during the regular season but managed only one assist in four playoff games before his injury.

McCann (undisclosed) didn't accompany the Kraken to Dallas for the start of the second round the playoffs, Saad Yousuf of The Athletic reports.
McCann hasn't traveled with the team since getting injured in Game 4 of the first round against Colorado on April 24. It's unclear at this time if he will be available to return to the lineup during the second round of the postseason. McCann racked up 40 goals and 70 points in 79 games during the regular season. McCann (undisclosed) won't play in Game 7 versus Colorado on Sunday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
McCann will miss his third consecutive contest after getting injured early in Seattle's 3-2 overtime win over the Avalanche in Game 4 on April 24. It's unclear at this time when he will be available to return. McCann has one assist and 10 shots on goal in four playoff outings this year. He concluded the regular season with 40 goals and 70 points in 79 contests. Tye Kartye has been playing on the top line of the Kraken in McCann's place.

It doesn't sound like McCann is very close to a return after suffering an injury during Game 4 on Monday. If a Game 7 is necessary, it will be Sunday, though the 26-year-old likely won't be available for that game, either.

Kraken's Jared McCann: Ruled out for Game 5
McCann (undisclosed) will miss Game 5 versus the Avalanche on Wednesday and will be out "probably longer than that" per head coach Dave Hakstol, Kate Shefte of The Seattle Times reports.
McCann was injured on a late hit from Cale Makar in the first period, and it appears a quick return to action is not in the cards for the Kraken's leading goal scorer. With McCann out, expect Jesper Froden to enter the lineup in the bottom six, while Ryan Donato figures to be in the mix for more playing time after taking over many of McCann's minutes Monday.

McCann (undisclosed) left Monday's game against Colorado and did not return, Alison Lukan of Root Sports reports.
McCann took a massive hit against the boards in the first period and immediately went back to the locker room. He logged just 3:38 of ice time before exiting the contest. An update on his status should be available before Game 5 on Wednesday.

McCann logged an assist, four shots on goal, two hits and two PIM in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Avalanche in Game 3.
McCann snapped his four-game point drought with a helper on Matty Beniers' second-period tally. Through three playoff contests, McCann has added six shots on net, six hits, two PIM and a minus-1 rating -- the Kraken's top line hasn't gotten much going against the Avalanche's defense. If the Kraken are going to even things up in Monday's Game 4, McCann will likely need to build off this outing.
