Marchenko scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Hurricanes. The game was scoreless after two periods, but it took Marchenko just 13 seconds into the third to change that. Marchenko has been productive this month with six goals and three assists over 13 contests -- the surge has earned him a spot alongside Johnny Gaudreau and Boone Jenner on the top line for now. With the Blue Jackets struggling to generate momentum, Marchenko will have to continue playing well to stay in the top six. The 23-year-old winger has six tallies, six helpers, 56 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 20 appearances this season.... See More ... See Less

Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Extends point streak in loss
Marchenko scored a goal on a team-high five shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Stars. Marchenko extended Columbus' lead to 2-0 in the first period, burying an Adam Fantilli feed off a two-on-one rush. The 23-year-old Marchenko now has points in four straight contests and three goals in that span after going seven games without a tally to open the year. Overall, he's up to seven points (three goals, four assists) through 11 games this season while skating with Fantilli on the Blue Jackets' second line.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Supplies power-play goal
Marchenko tallied a power-play goal in a 5-4 overtime loss to Florida on Monday. Marchenko extended his scoring streak to three games, bringing him up to two goals and three points in that span. Overall in 2023-24, he's supplied two goals and six points in 10 outings. The 23-year-old is serving in a top-six capacity and went into Monday's action averaging 3:46 of power-play ice time per game. Marchenko should be able to maintain his offensive pace if he stays in that role.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Collects two assists against Philly
Marchenko recorded two assists in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Flyers. His rush from the Columbus end helped set up Jake Bean for the team's opening goal of the season midway through the first period, and Marchenko then fed Patrik Laine for the Jackets' only other tally of the night with less than a minute left in the third. Marchenko racked up 21 goals -- a rookie record for the club -- but only four helpers last season in 59 games, so it's encouraging to see him provide more balanced production right out of the gate in 2023-24. The 23-year-old is currently skating on a line with Adam Fantilli, the third overall pick in this year's draft and the team's new franchise cornerstone, and if Marchenko can continue to establish chemistry with his 19-year-old center, he could blow past preseason expectations for his sophomore campaign.... Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Breaks up shutout bid
Marchenko scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Kings. Marchenko had the Blue Jackets' only goal against Pheonix Copley, scoring at 4:31 of the third period. The 22-year-old Marchenko has been an effective finished this season, but he snapped a seven-game goal drought with his tally Thursday. For the season, he has 17 goals, two assists, 90 shots on net an a minus-11 rating through 44 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Lights lamp twice in win
Marchenko scored two goals in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Oilers. The rookie continues to be the purest sniper in the league this season. Marchenko has an impressive 16 goals through his first 36 NHL games, but he's added only one helper to his ledger. The 22-year-old did have eight goals and 11 assists in 16 AHL games this year prior to his promotion, so his scoring should eventually balance itself out a bit, but for now Marchenko appears to be taking full advantage of an assignment alongside playmaking winger Johnny Gaudreau.... Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Two-point effort Saturday
Marchenko scored a goal and an assist in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Maple Leafs. Both points came in the second period as Marchenko kick-started the Blue Jackets' comeback from a 2-0 deficit. The helper was his first of the season, but the 22-year-old has an impressive 14 goals in his first 30 NHL games. That puts him second among rookies behind Matty Beniers' 17, and the Seattle freshman has played 20 more games this season. As long as Marchenko continues to skate on Columbus' top line with Johnny Gaudreau, he could well keep lighting the lamp on a regular basis.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Nets two power-play goals in loss
Marchenko scored two power-play goals in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Canucks. Marchenko continues to enjoy the Blue Jackets' current road trip -- he has four tallies over his last three games, and three of them have come on the power play. He was the only Columbus skater to solve Collin Delia in Friday's loss. Marchenko has 13 goals, including six on the power play, through 26 outings this season. He's added 48 shots on net, 20 hits, 18 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating, but he still has yet to notch an assist.... See More ... See Less -

Marchenko scored a goal on two shots in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Oilers. Marchenko tied the game with a third-period tally. He's scored in back-to-back outings after going six games without a point. The 22-year-old winger's 11 goals and zero assists in 25 contests represent a stat line not seen for a rookie since 1926-27, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports. As long as he's scoring, Marchenko could have some fantasy appeal, but managers would probably prefer to see him round out his play.... See More ... See Less -

Marchenko converted on a Johnny Gaudreau pass at 9:04 of the second period to get the Blue Jackets on the board. The goal snapped a six-game point drought for Marchenko. He's at 10 goals through 24 contests, but he has yet to discover a playmaking touch -- he doesn't have an assist. The rookie winger has added 43 shots on net, 20 hits, 17 blocked shots, eight PIM and a minus-2 rating.... See More ... See Less -

Marchenko was simply spectacular in Saturday's contest, scoring two power-play goals in the second period before tying the game at 3-3 in the third to give him his first career hat trick. Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Lights lamp in Thursday's loss
Marchenko scored his second NHL goal in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Lightning. He got Columbus on the board early in the second period, taking a slick cross-ice feed from Cole Sillinger and wiring the puck past Brian Elliott, but it was all the offense the Blue Jackets could muster. Both of Marchenko's goals have come in the last three games, and the 22-year-old appears to be acclimating quickly to the top level after an impressive run at AHL Cleveland to begin his first North American campaign.... Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Nets first career goal
Marchenko found the back of the net in Sunday's 6-5 overtime win against the Kings. Marchenko got the scoring started at 6:44 of the first period. It was his first NHL goal and point in his fourth contest. He's done great in the AHL this season, recording eight markers and 19 points in 16 games. However, the 22-year-old logged just 11:08 of ice time Sunday, and he entered the game averaging 12:11 with Columbus. Unless his role with the Blue Jackets grows, Marchenko shouldn't be counted on to make regular offensive contributions.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Scoreless in NHL debut
Marchenko didn't record a point but produced two shots, two hits and a blocked shot in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Penguins. Making his NHL debut, the 22-year-old didn't get to see much ice time in a chippy game that had one team or the other on the power play for much of the night. Marchenko skated on a "kid" line with Cole Sillinger and Yegor Chinakhov, and while the trio all have bright futures, they could have trouble making a fantasy impact in the short term. Marchenko, a second-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, is actually the oldest of the three, and after racking up eight goals and 19 points in 16 games for AHL Cleveland to begin the season in his first action outside of the KHL, he appears more than ready for a regular spot in the NHL....
