The Bruins released Kaskisuo from his PTO on Sunday, sending him to their AHL affiliate in Providence. Kaskisuo could get a chance to redeem himself in Saturday's preseason finale in Washington. Kaskisuo was 7-4-0 with a 2.90 GAA and a .909 save percentage as the backup goaltender with AHL Laval last season.

Kaskisuo signed a professional tryout agreement with the Bruins on Thursday, according to Joe Haggerty of Boston Sports Journal.
Kaskisuo last played in the NHL during the 2020-21 season, stopping all three shots in relief of Pekka Rinne in a 5-1 loss to Carolina. The 30-year-old netminder spent last season with AHL Laval, going 7-4-0 with a 2.90 GAA and a .909 save percentage. The Bruins are in need of extra goalkeeping at this time as Jeremy Swayman is a restricted free agent and is not at training camp.

Kasimir Kaskisuo: Leaving NHL
Kaskisuo agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Swedish club Leksands IF on Friday, he announced on social media.
After two years at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Kaskisuo made the jump to the professional ranks, playing in the ECHL, AHL and NHL over the past five seasons. The Finnish netminder came up through the Jokerit (KHL) youth system but will be playing professionally in Europe for the first time in his career. Barring a fantastic 2021-22 campaign, this could mark the end of Kaskisuo's time in the NHL.
