Bills' Ike Boettger: Inks new deal with Buffalo
The Bills re-signed Boettger to a one-year contract Friday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Boettger is in line to remain in Buffalo for at least another year following Friday's transaction. The 28-year-old guard spent a majority of the 2022 campaign on the reserve/PUP list due to the torn Achilles he suffered at the end of the 2021 season, but he'll now have a chance to compete for a starting gig throughout the offseason and heading into training camp.

Bills' Ike Boettger: Comes off PUP list
Buffalo activated Boettger (Achilles) from its reserve/PUP list Monday ahead of Saturday's game at Chicago.
After spending the entire season up to this point recovering from an Achilles tear he sustained nearly a year ago, Boettger appears primed to make his 2022 debut in Week 16. With the statuses of starting center Mitch Morse (concussion) and starting right guard Ryan Bates (ankle) up in the air this week, Boettger could find himself mixed back into the offensive line sooner rather than later.

Bills' Ike Boettger: Nearing return
Boettger (Achilles) was designated to return from the reserve/PUP list Sunday, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Boettger suffered an Achilles tear last December, but it appears his road to recovery may be coming to an end. He now has a 21-day window to practice with the team before needing to be placed on the 53-man roster.

Bills' Ike Boettger: Heads to reserve/PUP
Boettger (Achilles) has been moved to the reserve/PUP list, Grace Heidinger of the Bills' official site reports. Said general manager Brandon Beane, "I think he's going to need some time. He had a little bit of a setback with his (injury), but he still has a chance to play this year."
The reserve offensive lineman suffered the injury in Week 16 of last season, but he still needs some time before being subjected to the rigors of regular-season play. Boettger will now miss at least the first four weeks of the season.

The Bills placed Boettger (Achilles) on the active/PUP list Sunday, Chris Brown of the team's official site reports.
Boettger continues to rehab from the Achilles tear he suffered in December of last season. If the Iowa product remains on the PUP list following the initial 53-man roster deadline, he'll be forced to miss at least the first four games of the regular season.

Boettger is missing OTAs because he's still rehabbing from the Achilles tear he suffered in December, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
It wouldn't be incredibly realistic to expect Boettger to be back to full health at this point, and it's still up in the air whether he'll be able to participate in training camp. Once he is ready to return, he'll provide depth for the interior of a Bills offensive line that allowed one of the lowest sack totals in the league in 2021.

Boettger (Achilles) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's contest against the Patriots, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Getzenberg reports that the initial diagnosis is a ruptured Achilles, which would knock Boettger out for the remainder of the season. Boettger started the contest at left guard in place of Jon Feliciano, who was sidelined due to COVID-19 protocols. In Boettger's absence, the Bills will likely turn to Ryan Bates for the remainder of the contest.

Boettger was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Fellow offensive lineman Dion Dawkins is also expected to come off that same list soon, and once that happens, the Bills will be back to full strength on their offensive line. Boettger is expected to compete for a reserve spot.

Bills' Ike Boettger: Exits camp due to COVID-19
General manager Brandon Beane announced Wednesday that Boettger and fellow lineman Dion Dawkins have tested positive for COVID-19 and won't be allowed at the team facility until they pass all protocols, Dante Lasting of the Bills' official site reports.
Boettger is thought to have a decent grasp on a reserve spot for the Bills, but his absence to begin camp isn't ideal for a player that's not guaranteed a job with a contending team. The veteran lineman signed a one-year, $2.13 million contract with the Bills earlier this offseason.

Boettger has never been considered a top lineman after going undrafted out of Iowa in 2018, but he proved valuable to the Bills in starting seven regular-season games and all three playoff games in 2020 when injuries struck down some of the Bills' starters. Boettger will likely go back to providing depth on the O-Line in 2021.

An undrafted rookie out of Iowa, Boettger spent the preseason with the Bills before being cut this past weekend. At 6-6, 313 pounds, Boettger offers good size for a guard but figures to only see special teams action for now.
