Junior was nearing the end of his 21-day window to be activated after being designated to return from IR on Oct. 23. While he has been activated, it remains to be seen if he will see the field in Sunday's matchup with the 49ers. Junior will not return to Sunday's game versus the Colts due to a hamstring injury, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.
Junior did not record a statistic before sustaining this hamstring injury against Indianapolis. The 2022 sixth-round pick was making just his second NFL appearance Sunday, as he did not make his debut until the Jaguars' regular-season finale last year. With Junior sidelined, Jacksonville will have to make do with four available cornerbacks Sunday between Tyson Campbell, Darious Williams, Tre Herndon and Montaric Brown.

Jaguars' Gregory Junior: Signed to active roster
The Jaguars signed Junior off the team's practice squad Monday.
Junior was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by Jacksonville, but he has spent the entirety of the season on the practice squad after being waived as part of the team's final roster cuts in late August. In a corresponding move Monday, the Jaguars also released safety Tyree Gillespie, who did not record a statistic while exclusively playing on special teams over three appearances this season. Expect junior to add depth to this secondary over the final three weeks of the regular season.

Jaguars' Gregory Junior: Small-school corner heads to Duval
The Jaguars selected Junior in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 197th overall.
A Division II cornerback from Ouachita Baptist, Junior excelled as a three-year starter and earned First Team All-GAC honors in 2021. Junior also checks the athleticism box with a 4.45 40-yard dash and a 40-inch vertical at 6-foot, 203 pounds. However, he only had one interception through 43 games (33 starts), and he has yet to be tested against high-end receivers or quarterbacks. Junior will be a project for Jacksonville.
