Until Hasty receives meaningful playing time, Fantasy managers shouldn't bother adding him to their rosters.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Inactive Week 1

Hasty (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts, John Shipley of SI.com reports. Hasty served as Jacksonville's No. 2 running back for most of the 2022 campaign and totaled 320 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns on 66 touches, but he's No. 4 on the depth chart to begin 2023. Rookie third-round pick Tank Bigsby and free-agent signing D'Ernest Johnson will serve as the secondary and tertiary options, respectively, to starting tailback Travis Etienne in the season opener at Indianapolis.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Five touches in preseason debut

Hasty carried the ball four times for eight yards in Saturday's 25-7 preseason win over the Lions. He added one reception on two targets for four yards. Hasty took the field for game action for the first time in 2023, and he was the second back to check in following Tank Bigsby. He found running room hard to come by, though his usage was the more important takeaway as he looks to be third in line for touches behind Bigsby and Travis Etienne. Hasty has tallied 43 combined receptions across the last two seasons, and he may be limited primarily to passing downs in the upcoming campaign.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Sticking in Jacksonville

The Jaguars signed Hasty to a contract extension Sunday, Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union reports. The specifics of the extension weren't disclosed, but Hasty, who was set to become a restricted free agent in mid-March, will stick in Jacksonville for at least another season. The undrafted running back out of Baylor was acquired by the Jaguars prior to the 2022 campaign and immediately saw his role increase after James Robinson was traded to the Jets. Hasty appeared in all 17 regular-season contests and totaled 46 carries for 194 yards and two touchdowns while securing 20 of 26 targets for 126 yards and an additional score. He added 36 rushing yards on four attempts and one reception for seven yards across two playoff contests. Hasty will presumably be the favorite for the top backup gig behind Travis Etienne to start 2023, but he'll face competition from Snoop Conner, Mekhi Sargent and Qadree Ollison, plus any additions the Jaguars make this offseason.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Three carries in win

Hasty had three carries for five yards and failed to catch his lone target during Saturday's 20-16 win over the Titans. Hasty opened the season in a reserve role but has worked as Jacksonville's No. 2 tailback since the departure of James Robinson, totaling 46 carries for 194 yards and two touchdowns along with 20 receptions for 126 yards and another score. The 26-year-old will be a restricted free agent this offseason, so he could return to Jacksonville in 2023.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Sees 16 touches in blowout win

Hasty rushed 10 times for 33 yards and a touchdown and caught all six of his targets for 23 yards during Sunday's 31-3 win at Houston. The 26-year-old reached the end zone on a five-yard run in the first quarter, but he otherwise saw most of his action during the second half with Jacksonville holding a massive lead. Starter Travis Etienne saw only 12 touches in the blowout but produced 140 yards from scrimmage, illustrating why he remains the Jags' clear-cut No. 1 running back with Hasty in the backup role.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Four touches Week 15

Hasty carried three times for 10 yards and caught one of three targets for 11 yards during Thursday's 19-3 win over the Jets. Hasty played 25 percent of the Jaguars' offensive snaps as he continues to operate as Jacksonville's No. 2 tailback. Snoop Conner also received two carries Thursday, though he played only six offensive snaps.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Two touches in OT win

Hasty had one carry for 13 yards and caught his lone target for two yards during Sunday's 40-34 overtime win over the Cowboys. Hasty played 23 percent of the offensive snaps but was minimally involved in the offense. The 26-year-old will continue to work as Jacksonville's No. 2 tailback while Travis Etienne is in good health.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Four carries Week 13

Hasty rushed four times for 13 yards during Sunday's 36-22 win over the Titans. Hasty once again operated as Jacksonville's No. 2 tailback and played 25 percent of the offensive snaps. The 26-year-old is secure in his role as workhorse Travis Etienne's top backup after Darrell Henderson was waived Friday.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Week 13 Waiver Priority List

It sounds like Travis Etienne (foot) is expected to be fine for Week 13 at Detroit, but just in case he suffers a setback in practice, it's not a bad idea to add and stash Hasty. He stepped up for Etienne in Week 12 against Baltimore with 12 carries for 28 yards, along with five catches for 67 yards and a touchdown on five targets, and he would be at least a flex if Etienne were out. We'll see what happens with Darrell Henderson as well, but Hasty seems locked in as the handcuff to Etienne for now. Hasty is worth up to 5 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Four touches in win

Hasty had three carries for six yards and caught his lone target for five yards during Sunday's 27-20 win over the Raiders. The 26-year-old played only 13 of 69 offensive snaps, as Travis Etienne continues to operate as Jacksonville's workhorse. Fellow running back Snoop Conner played only one snap, so it appears Hasty's spot as the Jags' No. 2 RB is secure.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Seven touches sans Robinson

Hasty rushed four times for 13 yards, caught three of four targets for minus-three yards and returned one kickoff for 29 yards during Sunday's 21-17 loss to Denver. The 26-year-old served as the Jaguars' No. 2 tailback with James Robinson traded to the Jets after Week 7, but he found minimal room to run despite a season-high seven touches. Etienne ran all over Denver with 162 scrimmage yards on 27 touches and should continue to dominate Jacksonville's backfield work. Hasty likely won't find any fantasy relevance as long as Etienne remains healthy.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Moves up on depth chart

Hasty is expected to be the next running back up for work behind Travis Etienne after James Robinson was traded to the Jets on Monday, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports. Through seven contests this season, Hasty has recorded five carries for 69 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown against the Colts in Week 6. Though he hasn't gotten many opportunities behind Etienne and Robinson, Hasty at least appears to be ahead of Snoop Conner, a rookie fifth-round pick who hasn't been active for a game this season. Even though a good chunk of Robinson's snaps and touches will likely be absorbed by Etienne in the coming weeks, head coach Doug Pederson noted that Hasty "probably will increase his load just a little bit" now that Robinson is no longer in the mix.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Works in return game

Hasty rushed once for six yards and returned three kickoffs for 68 yards during Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Giants. The 26-year-old filled in as Jacksonville's kick returner with Jamal Agnew (knee) unavailable and saw four offensive snaps. Hasty played a minimal offensive role despite James Robinson (knee) being limited by an injury, as Travis Etienne dominated the backfield work Sunday. Hasty could see more action if Robinson is forced to miss any time, but he shouldn't be expected to take on a significant workload.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Posts 61-yard TD

Hasty rushed three times for 57 yards and a touchdown but wasn't targeted in Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Colts. Hasty did all of his damage on a 61-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. His touches will remain limited as long as James Robinson and Travis Etienne are healthy.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Catches two passes

Hasty caught both his targets for 22 yards during Sunday's 29-21 loss to the Eagles. Hasty played only three offensive snaps Sunday but was targeted on two of those plays, and he delivered gains of 15 and seven yards. The receptions marked the 26-year-old's first two touches of the season, though he also garnered a target Week 3. Hasty remains a distant third on the depth chart behind James Robinson and Travis Etienne.

  • Jaguars' JaMycal Hasty: Claimed by Jacksonville

The Jaguars claimed Hasty off waivers from the 49ers on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Hasty served as a third-down back for San Francisco a year ago, catching 23 passes for 157 yards, but didn't make the team's initial 53-man roster in 2022. However, he quickly found a new home in Jacksonville and will compete for a backup role with Snoop Conner behind Travis Etienne and James Robinson.

  • JaMycal Hasty: Let go by 49ers

Hasty was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Hasty failed to make the 49ers' final roster for 2022 after serving as the team's primary third down running back last season. The 25-year-old played in 11 games in 2021, rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries while reeling in 23 passes for 157 receiving yards. Hasty will likely join the 49ers' practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

  • 49ers' JaMycal Hasty: Receiving score in preseason game

Hasty tallied three carries for 15 yards in Saturday's 17-7 preseason win over the Vikings. He added one reception for two yards and a touchdown. Hasty was the second back on the field for the team's first offensive possession, though Trey Sermon and Tyrion Davis-Price also appeared. From there, Hasty saw limited action, though he found the end zone early in the fourth quarter on his lone reception of the game. He isn't likely to see significant action once the regular season begins, with, at minimum, Elijah Mitchell (hamstring) and Jeff Wilson apparently ahead of him on the depth chart.

  • 49ers' JaMycal Hasty: Signs one-year extension

Hasty signed a one-year contract extension with the 49ers on Thursday. Hasty appeared in 11 games for the 49ers last year and rushed 16 times for 68 yards and a touchdown while securing 23 of 29 targets for 157 yards. He'll compete for touches as a reserve once again heading into the 2022 campaign.

  • 49ers' JaMycal Hasty: Limited to seven snaps

Hasty caught his lone target for six yards and did not receive a carry in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Texans. Elijah Mitchell (knee) returned from a three-game absence and reclaimed the primary tailback role in San Francisco. Hasty was the only other true running back to record a touch, despite playing five less offensive snaps than fellow backup Jeff Wilson. Assuming Mitchell is a full go for Week 18, Hasty will be limited to a small receiving back role against the Rams next Sunday.
