Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Inks new three-year contract
Elliot signed a new three-year contract with the Steelers on Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
It was initially reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network mid-June that Elliott and Pittsburgh had agreed to terms on a two-year, $12.5 million extension, but the safety's new deal is officially a three-year contract instead. In any case, Elliott is now positioned to remain with the Steelers long term rather than have his contract expire after the 2025 season. He tallied a career-high 108 tackles (72 solo), six pass breakups (including one interception), two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries across 15 regular-season games in 2024.

Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Lands two-year extension
The Steelers signed Elliott to a two-year, $12.5 million contract extension Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The deal contains $9.21 million in guaranteed money. Elliott is coming off of a career year in 2024, as he finished with 108 tackles (72 solo), six pass breakups, including one interception, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles across 15 regular-season contests. Elliott's contract was set to expire after the 2025 campaign, but Pittsburgh has decided to lock up the 28-year-old safety.

Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Has career year with Pittsburgh
Elliott finished the 2024 season with 108 tackles (72 solo), six pass breakups, including one interception, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles across 15 regular-season contests.
After bouncing around with the Ravens, Lions and Dolphins the previous three seasons, Elliott signed a two-year, $6 million deal with the Steelers last offseason and started 14 of the 15 games in which he appeared. Elliott's tackles and fumble recoveries each marked new career bests for the 27-year-old safety. Coming off a strong year, Elliott should be back as a starter in Pittsburgh next season.

Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Looks good for Week 17
Elliott (hamstring) was a full participant in Monday's walk-through practice ahead of Wednesday's game against the Chiefs, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Elliott missed the Steelers' last two games, but he looks to be ready to go for the Christmas Day game after being listed as a full participant. He's played 69 percent or more of the defensive snaps in all of his 13 games this season, tallying 96 tackles, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and one interception.

Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Officially out vs. Ravens
Elliott (hamstring) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Ravens, Burt Lautenof the Pittsburgh Steelers reports.
Elliott was trending towards being out for Saturday throughout the week, so the actual designation doesn't come as too much of a surprise. The starting safety will now miss back-to-back matchups as the Steelers take on a tough Baltimore squad. His next chance to see the field will be in Week 17 at home against the Chiefs.

Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Unlikely to play against Baltimore
Elliott (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice and is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against the Ravens, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Elliott injured his hamstring during the Steelers' Week 14 win over the Browns, which forced him to be sidelined against the Eagles this past Sunday. Although he was able to practice in a limited capacity Thursday, it appears Elliott is facing an uphill battle to play in Saturday's AFC North showdown. Assuming Elliott is ruled out, Damontae Kazee would be slated to start at strong safety for a second straight game.
