Austin Seibert: Returns to practice squad
Seibert reverted to the Jets' practice squad Monday.
Seibert connected on his only two kicks during Sundays' loss to the Cowboys - a 34-yard field goal and an extra point - while playing in place of Greg Zuerlein (groin). With Zuerlein's status for Week 3 against the Patriots still up in the air, Seibert could be the subject of another promotion ahead of that game.

Jets' Austin Seibert: Fills in for Zuerlein
Seibert made his only field-goal attempt from 34 yards and converted his lone PAT try in Sunday's 30-10 loss to Dallas.
Seibert didn't get many opportunities as the Zach Wilson-led Jets offense was stifled by Dallas' ferocious defense, but he made both of his kicks when called upon. The kicker signed to the Jets' practice squad and was elevated to the active roster Sunday with Greg Zuerlein (groin) unavailable. If Zuerlein sits out again in Week 3 against the Patriots, Seibert should continue to fill in.

Jets' Austin Seibert: Picked up by Jets
Seibert signed with the Jets' practice squad and was elevated to the active roster Saturday, and he's expected to kick in place of Greg Zuerlein (groin) in Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Seibert kicked in three games for the Lions last season. He went 3-for-5 on field-goal attempts and 12-for-12 on extra points. The veteran has had also had stints with the Browns and Bengals. He has mainly been a fill-in option for teams since starting 16 games in Cleveland during his rookie campaign in 2019. Seibert will revert back to the practice squad Monday.

Austin Seibert: Waived by Detroit
The Lions waived Seibert (groin) on Friday.
Seibert won a preseason competition against Riley Patterson but then missed two field goals over the first three games and sat out Week 4 with a groin injury. Patterson now is with the Jaguars, while Michael Badgley is set to fill in for Seibert and attached to a Detroit offense that's been surprisingly productive, despite dealing with numerous injuries.

Lions' Austin Seibert: Maintains limited practice activity
Seibert (groin) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Seibert appears to have shown some improvement in his recovery from the right groin injury that kept him sidelined for last week's 48-45 loss to the Seahawks, but he may need to turn in a full practice Friday for the Lions to feel comfortable proceeding with him as their kicker Sunday at New England. Before he sustained the groin injury, Seibert's job appeared to be in question after he missed a pair of field-goal tries in a narrow Week 3 loss to the Vikings, but special teams coordinator Dave Fipp expressed confidence in the 25-year-old's ability to improve and strengthen his hold on the role once healthy, per Tony Garcia of the Detroit Free Press. If Seibert needs more time to move past the groin injury, the Lions will promote Michael Badgley from the practice squad to handle kicking duties against the Patriots.

Seibert didn't practice last week due to the injury and was ruled out for Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. The 25-year-old's status appears to have improved, however, given his ability to work back into Detroit's first practice of Week 5. Seibert (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Seattle, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Seibert missed practice all week and now will be out for the Week 4 contest. The Lions likely will call up Dominik Eberle from the practice squad, and while the matchup with Seattle is favorable, the equation also involves an inexperienced kicker whose team has multiple key injuries on offense (D'Andre Swift and Amon-Ra St. Brown both are out this week).

Seibert (groin) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Seibert's right groin injury will keep him off the practice field for the second day in a row, but the Lions aren't yet closing the door on him being available to kick in Sunday's game against the Seahawks. In fact, special teams coordinator Dave Fipp told Kyle Meinke of MLive.com earlier Thursday that he "feels good about where [Seibert] is at" at this stage of the week, even after the kicker missed 48- and 56-yard field-goal attempts in last week's loss to the Vikings. Detroit has Dominik Eberle available on the practice squad as an option to kick Week 4 if Seibert doesn't progress from the injury as well as the Lions hope heading into Sunday.

Seibert converted one of three field-goal attempts and three of three PATs during Sunday's 28-24 loss to Minnesota.
Seibert had plenty of chances to put together a strong fantasy outing, but he missed a 48-yard try early on before pushing wide a 56-yard field-goal attempt late in the fourth quarter. With that said, the Lions offense remained productive for a third straight week, and it bodes well for Seibert's future prospects that Detroit is consistently getting into scoring position. Up next is a Week 4 home matchup against Seattle within the indoor confines of Ford Field.
