  • Raiders' Phillip Dorsett: Agrees to deal with Raiders

Dorsett has agreed to sign with the Raiders, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. In 15 games with the Texans in 2022, Dorsett recorded 20 catches for 257 yards and a touchdown on 40 targets. This coming season, the 30-year-old figures to handle a complementary role in a Raiders' wideout corps led by Davante Adams and pending free agent addition Jakobi Meyers.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Ruled out for finale

Dorsett (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Colts. Dorsett was unable to practice Friday after a limited session Thursday and was subsequently ruled out. He finishes the 2022 season with 20 catches for 257 yards and one touchdown on 40 targets.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Limited due to hamstring issue

The Texans listed Dorsett as a limited practice participant Thursday due to a hamstring issue. Dorsett wasn't included on the Texans' initial Week 18 practice report issued Wednesday, so his addition a day later might suggest that he suffered the injury at some point during Thursday's practice. The wideout will have another chance Friday to practice in some capacity before the Texans decide whether he carries an injury designation into Sunday's season finale in Indianapolis.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Season-high targets in loss

Dorsett caught three of a season-high six targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 31-3 loss to Jacksonville in Week 17. Dorsett, who played 39 snaps, has benefitted from Nico Collins' season-ending foot injury and racked up 16 targets over the last five weeks while averaging 44 snaps. His playing time dipped the last two weeks with Brandin Cooks' return from a calf injury, but Dorsett remains involved in a weak passing attack.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Leads Houston in receiving yards

Dorsett recorded three catches on three targets for 45 yards in Saturday's 19-14 win over the Titans. Dorsett finished with fewer targets than both Brandin Cooks and Chris Moore, though he was the most efficient of the group with his opportunity. All three of his receptions came in the fourth quarter, highlighted by 20 and 18-yard gains. With an increased role in the absence of Nico Collins (foot), Dorsett managed to top 40 receiving yards for the first time since Week 9.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: One target in loss

Dorsett did not catch his lone target in Sunday's 30-24 overtime loss to Kansas City. With Houston's top two wide receivers unavailable due to injury for a second consecutive week, Dorsett once again was given ample playing time, and for a second consecutive week his production was meager. The veteran wideout has four catches on seven targets for 36 yards over his last three games.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Fails to produce with expanded role

Dorsett recorded two receptions on three targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Cowboys. Dorsett was expected to see an expanded role in the absence of Brandin Cooks (groin) and Nico Collins (groin). However, he was out-produced by both Chris Moore and Amari Rodgers while delivering a disappointing performance of his own. Dorsett will fade to an even further peripheral role in the offense once one of Cooks or Collins is able to return, though he's proven unreliable even in their absences.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Added snaps on tap Sunday

Dorsett is in line to work as a starting outside wide receiver during Sunday's game against the Cowboys, as the Texans have ruled out both Nico Collins (foot) and Brandin Cooks (calf) for the contest, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The 5-foot-10, 192-pound Dorsett and the 6-foot-1, 200-pound Chris Moore will presumably see most of the reps on the perimeter for Houston, while the lone other healthy receiver on the 53-man roster -- the 5-foot-9, 212-pound Amari Rodgers -- lacks the speed to play on the outside and is better suited for the slot role. Houston will likely add a receiver or two from the practice squad Saturday to restore some depth at the position, but Dorsett should be primed for a heavy snap count nonetheless. When Cooks and Collins were both sidelined back in Week 9 against the Eagles, Dorsett handled a season-high 77 percent snap share and finished with three catches for 69 yards on five targets.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Steps in for injured Cooks

Dorsett caught two of three targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 27-14 loss to the Browns. Dorsett saw a boost in playing time with Brandin Cooks (calf) sidelined, but Nico Collins (10 targets) was the main beneficiary. Houston's passing offense is near the bottom of the league, which makes it hard for fantasy managers to rely on any of the team's wideouts.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Starting role awaits

Dorsett is expected to serve as one of the Texans' three starting receivers Sunday against the Browns with Brandin Cooks (calf) inactive for the contest, Aaron Wilson of SI.com reports. Nico Collins has drawn at least seven targets in each of the past three games and should serve as Houston's clear No. 1 receiver Sunday, but the absence of Cooks will at least open up more work for Dorsett and Chris Moore. When Cooks and Collins were both sidelined Week 9 against the Eagles, Dorsett played 77 percent of the Texans' offensive snaps and finished with three receptions for 69 yards on five targets.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Targeted twice in loss

Dorsett caught one of two targets for five yards in Sunday's 30-15 loss to the Dolphins. Dorsett's caught just 10 of 24 targets this season, but that says more about the quarterback situation in Houston than the wide receiver. He's survived numerous challenges from practice-squad members and waiver claims but has held onto the No. 4 wideout job. The next challenger for his spot could be Amari Rodgers, claimed off waivers from Green Bay, but he's has been a healthy inactive for two games since he was added to the roster.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Targeted once in loss

Dorsett did not catch his lone target and played 14 snaps in Sunday's 23-10 loss to Washington Dorsett's usage was down after he entered the game on an upswing, having caught eight of 17 targets for 142 yards and a touchdown over the last four games. The Texans claimed wideout Amari Rodgers off waivers from Green Bay last week, so Dorsett's role could diminish even further down the stretch.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Upgrades to full practice

Dorsett (ankle) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. Dorsett's full workout Thursday puts him in line to suit up Sunday against the Giants, but the receiver could be in line for a more muted role after compiling 10 targets between the past two contests while playing more than three-quarters of the Texans' snaps on offense in both of those games. Houston's top two wideouts -- Nico Collins (chest) and Brandin Cooks (wrist) -- both sat out the team's Week 9 loss to the Eagles, but the two were able to practice Thursday in a limited capacity and are seemingly trending toward returns to the lineup this weekend.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Limited due to ankle injury

Dorsett (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Dorsett filled in as a starter last Thursday against the Eagles, catching three of five targets for 69 yards in a 29-17 loss with both Brandin Cooks (personal/wrist) and Nico Collins (groin) inactive. Collins returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant, while Cooks is back with the team but didn't practice. If at least one of the top two wideouts suits up this Sunday against the Giants, Dorsett would be in store for a reduced role.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Team-high receiving yardage total

Dorsett secured three of five targets for 69 yards in the Texans' 29-17 loss to the Eagles on Thursday night. Dorsett enjoyed an expanded role with Brandin Cooks (wrist/personal) and Nico Collins (groin) unavailable, and he took advantage of the opportunity by posting a team-high receiving yardage tally. Dorsett also tied Chris Moore for the team lead in targets, and although Cooks at minimum could be back in action for a Week 10 matchup versus the Giants, Dorsett has demonstrated some utility as a complementary option by posting a 6-120-1 line over his last three games.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Could see expanded role Thursday

Dorsett may see expanded opportunities Thursday against the Eagles with Nico Collins (groin) ruled out and Brandin Cooks (wrist/personal) listed as questionable but not expected to play, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports. With Collins out this past Sunday against the Titans, Dorsett started and logged 45 of a possible 54 snaps on offense en route to catching one of his five targets for six yards. Now that Cooks is on track to sit out Thursday along with Collins, Dorsett and Chris Moore likely will lead the Texans' Week 9 wideout corps, with Tyron Johnson also in the mix as a third option at receiver. While no member of the trio profiles as a high-percentage fantasy lineup option, Dorsett should at least log plenty of snaps versus Philadelphia. He thus represents an option for those in deeper formats who need to replace Cooks or are in need of short-term wideout depth with six NFL teams on bye this week.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Does little with five targets

Dorsett caught one of five targets for six yards in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Titans. With Nico Collins (groin) sidelined, Dorsett saw a season high in targets but wasn't able to get on the same page as quarterback Davis Mills. No. 1 wideout Brandin Cooks is rumored to be on the trade block, so even if Collins is back in action next week against the Eagles, Dorsett could still find himself in a starting role and with an opportunity to develop some chemistry with Mills in the second half.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Waiting on opportunity

Dorsett is likely to step into a starting role at receiver Sunday against the Titans if Nico Collins (groin) is unable to play, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports. Following Collins' early exit in the Week 7 loss to the Raiders, Dorsett stepped in as the primary replacement and caught two of three targets for 45 yards -- including a 25-yard touchdown -- over a season-high 35 snaps. The two receivers are notably different in stature and frame, so the 5-foot-10, 192-pound Dorsett wouldn't be used in the same fashion as Collins (6-foot-4, 215 pounds). That means instead of having a matchup advantage based on size, Dorsett will have to use his speed and sense of defensive coverages to get open.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Finds end zone in loss to Raiders

Dorsett caught two of three targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Raiders. The veteran wideout's only reception of the season prior to Sunday came back in Week 3, but Dorsett got a little more involved in this one and got into the end zone for the first time since 2019 when he hauled in a 25-yard toss from Davis Mills late in the third quarter. Houston's thin WR group got a little thinner Sunday when Nico Collins suffered a groin injury, and Brandin Cooks might be on the trade block, so Dorsett could be headed for a much more significant role in Week 8 against the Titans.

  • Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Minimal role in win

Dorsett wasn't targeted over 11 snaps on offense Sunday in the Texans' 13-6 win over Jacksonville. With Chris Moore (hip) sitting out Week 5, Dorsett appeared to be in a good spot to earn more work, but the little-used Tyler Johnson (25 snaps) was the primary beneficiary instead. Dorsett has appeared in four games this season, catching one pass on four targets for 15 yards.
