Ranta was sent to AHL Colorado on Thursday.
Ranta was recalled Wednesday, played 11:50 in a 4-0 loss to the Bruins, and was sent back down. He has yet to pick up a point in five NHL games this season after going 10 games last year with nary a point. Ranta has three goals and six points in 14 games with AHL Colorado this season.
