  • Sharks' Devin Cooley: Pulled again in finale

Cooley allowed five goals on 23 shots before being pulled in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Flames. He was credited with the defeat. Cooley surrendered two goals in the opening period and another three in the first seven minutes of the second before the 26-year-old netminder was replaced by Georgi Romanov for a second straight game. It was a tough finish to the year for Cooley, who allowed 13 goals on 45 shots in his final two outings. He'll finish the campaign with a 2-3-1 record, an .870 save percentage and a 4.98 GAA.

  • Sharks' Devin Cooley: Gets nod Thursday

Cooley will guard the road crease in Thursday's regular-season finale against Calgary, per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now. Cooley struggled tremendously in his last start, allowing eight goals on 22 shots in a 9-2 loss to Edmonton on Monday. The 26-year-old has recorded an .882 save percentage and a 2-2-1 record in five NHL appearances this year.

  • Sharks' Devin Cooley: Ugly showing Monday

Cooley allowed eight goals on 22 shots in Monday's 9-2 loss to the Oilers. Cooley was pulled just over halfway through the second period, but the game was already long over at that point. The 26-year-old has given up 20 goals over five appearances this season while recording a 2-2-1 record at the NHL level. If he gets the starting nod, Cooley won't be a particularly strong fantasy option for Thursday's game versus the Flames, but it would at least be a better matchup than Monday's was.

  • Sharks' Devin Cooley: Stellar in win

Cooley stopped 49 of 50 shots in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Kraken. The Kraken threw everything but the kitchen sink at Cooley, but he was able to limit the damage to a first-period goal by Brian Dumoulin. Cooley has won his last two outings, stopping 83 of 86 shots across those games after losing his first two NHL appearances. The Sharks are in evaluation mode, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Cooley start at least one of the team's last three contests.

  • Sharks' Devin Cooley: Gets overtime win

Cooley stopped 28 of 29 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime victory over the Blues. What a night to remember for Cooley, as he produced the first NHL win of his career. He kicked aside the first 24 shots of the game until finally being beaten on the power play by Jordan Kyrou, who got one between the pads in the third frame. Brayden Schenn fired one past the 26-year-old goaltender late in the same period, but Cooley got the last laugh, saving the remaining shots sent his way, including three in overtime. Since the Sharks return to action Sunday against the Ducks, expect No. 1 netminder Mackenzie Blackwood to be between the pipes.

Cooley was acquired by San Jose from Buffalo in exchange for a 2025 seventh-round pick Friday. Cooley has a 3.77 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 14 contests with AHL Rochester this season. The 26-year-old is likely to remain in the minors, but there is a chance the Sharks will recall him because Mackenzie Blackwood (groin) and Vitek Vanecek (lower body) are both on injured reserve.

  • Sabres' Devin Cooley: Sent down

Cooley was assigned to AHL Rochester on Sunday. Cooley was Buffalo's backup goalie behind Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in Sunday's 4-0 shutout win over Colorado. If Devon Levi (lower body) isn't ready to return Wednesday versus Philadelphia, Cooley could be called upon again to occupy the backup role.
