Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Earns helper in win
Teravainen registered an assist and five shots on goal in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.
Teravainen has two goals and four assists over his last six games. The winger's five shots matched his season high, though his goal-scoring has come in bursts this year. He's at 10 tallies, five helpers, 43 shots and a plus-1 rating through 20 outings while seeing key minutes in all situations.

Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Another multi-point effort
Teravainen produced a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Oilers.
Both points came in the first period as the Hurricanes built a 4-0 lead. Teravainen has delivered back-to-back two-point performances, and he's got 14 points through 18 games, including 10 goals -- a surge fueled by unsustainable 26.3 percent shooting. Even so, the 29-year-old is nearly halfway to his career high of 23 goals in a season, a mark he set back in 2017-18.

Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Goal surge continues
Teravainen snapped a four-game pointless streak with a power-play goal in Saturday's 4-0 shutout win over the Lightning.
Teravainen seems to have a real nose for the net so far this season, as nine of his 10 points have been goals, three of the power-play variety. Not bad for a guy who continues to skate primarily on the third line with Jordan Staal and Jordan Martinook. He's currently on pace for roughly 55 points this season, and Teravainen's likely to pick up his playmaking to cancel out the inevitable drop in his 25.7 shooting percentage.

Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Scores winning goal
Teravainen scored a goal on two shots in Monday's 3-2 win over the Flyers.
After recording a hat trick in his previous game, Teravainen was back on the scoresheet Monday, firing a wrister past Carter Hart late in the third period that would serve as the game-winner. Teravainen's gotten off to quite a start this season, scoring eight goals (tied for second most in the league) through his first 10 games after scoring just 12 in 68 contests last season. The 29-year-old winger should continue to provide a steady source of offense on the Hurricanes' top line with Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis.

Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Hats off in home victory
Teravainen scored all three goals in Friday's 3-0 victory against the Sharks.
Teravainen recorded the natural hat trick, and it was his third career game with three or more goals. He last had a hat trick March 5, 2023 against the Lightning, also a shutout win at PNC Arena, and all three of his career hat tricks have come on home ice. With seven goals and just one assist through nine games this season, it appears fantasy managers may be in for a nice surprise from a goal-scoring standpoint from Teravainen this season.

Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Moves to center
Teravainen recorded a power-play assist and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Sharks.
Sebastian Aho (upper body) missed the game, so Teravainen moved over to center on the first line. Teravainen fared well, winning 10 of 18 faceoffs and picking up a helper on Seth Jarvis' first-period tally. Through four contests, Teravainen has four goals, one helper, eight shots on net and an even plus-minus rating. He was initially expected to stay in the middle six, but he's been too good to keep off of the top line.

Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Stays hot Sunday
Teravainen scored two goals on three shots and went minus-2 in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Ducks.
Teravainen tallied at even strength in the second period and added a power-play marker in the third. The winger, well known as a playmaker earlier in his career, has four goals on five shots through his first three contests this season. It's good to see Teravainen healthy and productive, but this pace won't last, though he should be able to put up solid offense in a top-six role.

Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Tallies shortie in win
Teravainen scored a shorthanded goal in Saturday's 6-5 shootout win over the Kings.
Teravainen has a goal in each of the first two contests of the season. He's added two shots on goal, a plus-1 rating and three hits. The 29-year-old has been on the second line at even strength, while Michael Bunting has seen first-line usage. Teravainen had a down year in 2022-23 with 12 goals and 37 points in 68 appearances, but his strong start so far suggests a bounce-back campaign could be possible. He's also scored a shorthanded goal in five of the last six seasons.

Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Tallies goal, but Hurricanes lose
Teravainen supplied a goal in Carolina's 4-3 loss to Florida in Game 4 on Wednesday.
The defeat eliminated the Hurricanes from the playoffs. Teravainen wasn't a significant factor in Carolina's postseason run, with Wednesday's marker being his first goal and first point of the 2023 playoffs. That's largely because Teravainen suffered a broken hand April 19 and underwent surgery, so he was able to participate in just six postseason contests. During the 2022-23 regular season, the 28-year-old had 12 goals and 37 points in 68 outings.

Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen: Not close to returning
Teravainen (hand) isn't expected to return before the end of the second round, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.
Teravainen has started to work out off the ice, but he isn't close to drawing back into the lineup. Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour hasn't completely ruled out Teravainen for the rest of the postseason, but he noted that things would have to go "really well" for Carolina in order for the Hurricanes to still be playing when the 28-year-old forward is ready to return. He had 12 goals and 37 points in 68 regular-season outings.
