Luter (hamstring) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Luter was inactive for Week 14 against the Seahawks after being unable to log a practice session leading up to the contest. 49ers' Darrell Luter: Not suiting up Week 14
Luter (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Seahawks. Luter didn't practice at all this week and entered Sunday deemed doubtful, so his inability to play was expected. The 23-year-old's absence probably won't impact the 49ers' defensive gameplan, as all 37 of Luter's snaps have come on special teams this season.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Darrell Luter: Unlikely to play in Week 14
Luter (hamstring) is considered doubtful to play Sunday versus the Seahawks, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Luter is dealing with a hamstring injury, and his chances to play in Week 14 appear rather slim. Considering he's yet to play a defensive snap this year, his possible absence doesn't carry much of a fantasy impact.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Darrell Luter: To miss time with hamstring
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Luter was expected to miss a week or so due to a hamstring injury, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. His coach's comments suggest that Luter will likely be sidelined for Week 14 versus the Seahawks at minimum. He has played exclusively on special teams through three games this season, so San Francisco will have to try to replace his production on those units.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Darrell Luter: Making NFL debut
Luter (knee) is active ahead of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. The rookie out of South Alabama had been on San Francisco's PUP list since late August, but he was activated to the team's active roster Saturday and is now in line to play in Sunday's contest. Luter is expected to serve as a rotational cornerback on the 49ers' defense now that he's ready to return to the field.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Darrell Luter: Back from PUP list
Luter (knee) was activated from the reserve/PUP list Saturday. Luter is back on the active roster after beginning his NFL career on the PUP list. The 2023 fifth-round draft pick suffered a hyperextension and bone bruise in his knee during training camp. Luter could make his NFL debut Sunday against the Buccaneers, but he remains listed a questionable for that contest.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Darrell Luter: Nearing return to action
San Francisco designated Luter (knee) for return from its reserve/PUP list Monday. The move opens a 21-day window during which the 49ers can officially activate Luter before they'd be forced to shut him down for the remainder of the season. He appears to be close to making his regular-season NFL debut heading into Week 10.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Darrell Luter: Lands on PUP list
The 49ers placed Luter (knee) on the reserve/PUP list Tuesday. Luter continues to work his way back from a hyperextension and a bone bruise, injuries he picked up during OTAs. The rookie fifth-round pick will need to spend at least the first four games of the season on the PUP list.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Darrell Luter: Trending in right direction
General manager John Lynch said Luter (knee) is "trending well" but it will be some time before he comes off the active/PUP list, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. Luter is dealing with a hyperextension and a bone bruise, both injuries he suffered during OTAs. The rookie fifth-round pick projects to compete for a depth role when healthy, but it remains to be seen whether he'll have to miss a significant portion of training camp.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Darrell Luter: Placed on active/PUP list
The 49ers placed Luter on the active/PUP list due to an undisclosed injury, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. The severity of the injury remains unclear, but Luter will be eligible to practice at any point during the preseason. The South Alabama product was selected in the fifth round of this year's draft and should compete for a depth role in the secondary when healthy.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Darrell Luter: Toolsy corner for San Fran
The 49ers selected Luter in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 155th overall. Luter is a bit skinny at just 6-feet, 189 pounds, but the South Alabama product features excellent reach (32 and 3/8-inch arms) and prototypical Cover-3 type athleticism otherwise. Luter logged a 4.46-second 40 and 40.5-inch vertical at the combine, and the South Alabama pass defense was quite strong under Luter's watch.... See More ... See Less
