Cardinals' Garrett Williams: Snags pick in pro debut
Williams registered two tackles and an interception in Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Seahawks.
Williams played in 45 percent of the defensive snaps Sunday as he works his way back from a torn ACL he sustained in his final year at Syracuse in 2022. The 2023 third-round pick could see his playing time increase over the coming weeks if Antonio Hamilton (groin) doesn't progress in his recovery.

Williams (knee) was activated from the reserve/non-football injury list Saturday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Williams has a chance to make his NFL debut during Sunday's contest against the Seahawks, as he's listed as questionable after joining Arizona's active roster Saturday. The 2023 third-round pick out of Syracuse recorded 35 total tackles, three pass deflections and two interceptions in his final collegiate season with Syracuse.

Williams (knee-ACL) will begin the season on the reserve/non-football injury list, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Williams was placed on active/NFI in late July, as he was continuing to recover from the torn ACL he suffered last October while with Syracuse. There was some hope the rookie cornerback could be ready to return earlier in August, but it appears he's still working to get back on the field. Williams will now be required to sit out at least the first four games of the regular season.

Arizona placed Williams (knee) on the active/non-football injury list Wednesday.
Williams is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered during his final season at Syracuse in 2022. The 2023 third-round pick has a chance to compete for a role in Arizona's secondary once he's fully recovered from knee surgery. In his final two seasons at Syracuse, the cornerback recorded 88 tackles, 12 pass breakups and two interceptions over 18 games.

Cardinals' Garrett Williams: Arizona adds in third round
The Cardinals selected Williams (knee) in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 72nd overall.
Williams (5-foot-10, 192 pounds) is recovering from an ACL tear he suffered Oct. 29, but once healthy, he should be Arizona's plug-in replacement for standout slot corner Byron Murphy, who headed to Minnesota in free agency. Williams was the best corner on a solid Syracuse pass defense, and he was constantly around the ball while piling up 64 tackles and 10 passes defended in his redshirt freshman season alone (2020).

Garrett Williams: Expected to be cleared by July
Williams currently is recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL, but he's expected to be cleared by the end of July, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The Syracuse cornerback tore his ACL against Notre Dame in Week 8 of the 2022 campaign and finished his final collegiate season with 36 tackles, two interceptions, three pass defenses, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. The team that drafts him will be taking a risk given his current injury, but it sounds like he's making great progress in his rehab and shouldn't have to miss any game time to start his rookie year.
