He was a reliable option for the team when it used fullback sets, and he suited up for all 17 games. However, he was not very fantasy relevant, recording just 10 receiving yards on two receptions. Raiders' Jakob Johnson: Catches first pass of game

Johnson caught quarterback Derek Carr's first pass of the game, but the former was otherwise used primarily as a blocker while logging 22 offensive snaps. Through the Raiders' first 10 contests, Johnson has yet to record a single carry and he's totaled only three receptions for six yards.

The Raiders opted not to extend fullback Alec Ingold a contract last week, and Johnson is set to replace him for the Raiders. He primarily served as a blocker for the Patriots in 2021 and had four receptions for 43 yards in 17 games.

The Patriots signed Johnson to a one-year contract Thursday, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Johnson will stay in New England to continue his fullback role for his third consecutive season. The 26-year-old had an increased catching role in his 2020 campaign, securing eight receptions for 35 yards and one touchdown through 16 games. While the fullback has yet to log any carries, expect Johnson to assume his usual blocking role for the team in 2021.
