It's presumably the first action Sutherland has seen since he was cut by Seattle prior to Week 1. Buffalo is likely looking for insurance at safety because it's unclear when Jordan Poyer (knee) will be ready to play again.

Jonathan Sutherland: Gets settlement
Sutherland (calf) was waived from injured reserve by the Seahawks with an injury settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Sutherland didn't even last a full day on IR before getting the settlement from Seattle. As soon as he can prove himself healthy, he'll be free to sign with any other team.

Jonathan Sutherland: Kicked to curb
Sutherland (calf) was waived/injured by Seattle on Tuesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
The 25-year-old undrafted rookie out of Penn State was working with the Seahawks' first-team defense at times throughout the summer, but he suffered a calf injury that held him out the final two weeks of preseason, per Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune. Sutherland will revert to injured reserve if he doesn't reach an injury settlement with Seattle.
