Dolphins' Austin Jackson: Working back from offseason surgery
Jackson said Tuesday that he underwent reconstructive surgery on his right ankle during the offseason, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Jackson played only three games in 2022 due to nagging ankle issues and had two stints on injured reserve, but it appears the surgery was both minor and successful as he was participating in team drills during the first day of OTAs. The 2020 first-round pick added that he's "angry excited" to get back on the field, and he should be the favorite for the starting right tackle gig in 2023.

Dolphins' Austin Jackson: Has option declined by Miami
The Dolphins declined Jackson's (ankle) fifth-year option for 2024, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.
Selected 18th overall out of USC in the 2020 Draft, Jackson opened his career as the Dolphins' left tackle but was overwhelmed there and kicked inside to left guard as a sophomore. He was then flipped to right tackle in 2022, playing only three games last season due to nagging ankle issues. Jackson is expected to get another crack at right tackle this upcoming season.

Dolphins' Austin Jackson: Expected to remain starter in 2023
Jackson (ankle) is expected to be the Dolphins' starting right tackle in 2023, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
After an injury-riddled campaign in 2022, Jackson -- if healthy -- is set to protect left-handed quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's blind side during the upcoming season. Jackson, a 2020 first-round pick, will be going into his fourth season with Miami.
