Seahawks' Austin Faoliu: Moves to reserve/PUP list
Seattle placed Faoliu (knee) on the reserve/PUP list Tuesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Faoliu continues to recover from a knee surgery he underwent following the 2023 XFL season and will be forced to miss the first four games of the 2023 NFL campaign. Faoliu (knee) was placed on the Seahawks' active/PUP list Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Faoliu is still in recovery after having surgery on his knee following the 2023 XFL season, according to head coach Pete Carroll. The 6-foot-3 nose tackle was named to the All-XFL team after his season with the Seattle Sea Dragons. He also briefly played with the Cowboys for one game in 2021. Seahawks' Austin Faoliu: Recovering from surgery
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said June 8 that Faoliu underwent knee surgery following the 2023 XFL season, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Carroll didn't elaborate on the exact timing of Faoliu's surgery, but he suggested that it was mostly a cleanup procedure. The 24-year-old earned all-XFL honors after posted 24 tackles and a sack while playing with the Seattle Sea Dragons this spring. Faoliu then received an invite to the Seahawks' rookie minicamp, and he became the first tryout player to sign with the team in May, per Condotta.
