Ricard is re-signing with the Ravens, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Ricard has been with the Ravens since 2018 and played more than 400 snaps on offense each of the past five seasons. He'll turn 31 in May and figures to reprise his role as a lead blocker in heavy formations, having never topped 11 receptions or seven carries in a season.... See More ... See Less

Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Tallies three touches in 2024
Ricard recorded three catches on five targets for 22 yards and a touchdown over 17 regular-season games in 2024. He did not log any carries. For the third straight season, Ricard played in all 17 of Baltimore's regular-season contests. He also finished without a carry for the second consecutive campaign, and his three receptions were his fewest since 2018. Ricard is set to become an unrestricted free agent, but Ravens GM Eric DeCosta has indicated a desire to re-sign the veteran fullback, per Ryan Mink of the team's official site.... See More ... Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Can't haul in lone target
Ricard failed to corral his lone target and played 21 of the Ravens' 59 snaps on offense in Monday's 41-31 win over the Buccaneers. The veteran fullback has played double-digit snaps on offense in each of the Ravens' first seven games, but he's yet to carry the ball or record a reception. Monday's contest marked just the second time all season that he's been targeted by quarterback Lamar Jackson.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Goes without target Week 16
Ricard played 37 of the Ravens' 70 snaps on offense but went without a carry or target in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Jaguars. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound fullback has played double-digit snaps on offense in all 14 of the Ravens' games this season, but he mainly functions as a lead blocker or de facto offensive lineman whenever he's on the field. He has yet to record a carry and has turned five targets into four catches for 48 yards over 359 total snaps.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Records short reception
Ricard hauled in his lone target for a three-yard gain in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Titans. The reception was the fullback's second of the season, with the other being a 14-yard grab in Week 4. Ricard will continue to operate as little more than a dump-off option on passing downs and will primarily work as a blocker whenever he's on the field.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Returns to practice
Ricard (hip) was reinstated from the active/PUP list Monday, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports. Ricard has been sidelined since the start of training camp due to hip surgery he had in June. However, now that he passed his physical Monday, he can practice with the team. The 29-year-old should remain the Ravens' fullback for the 2023 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Placed on PUP list
Ricard (hip) was placed on the active/PUP list by the Ravens on Friday. Ricard will open training camp on the sidelines as he continues to recover from the hip surgery he underwent in the offseason. The fullback is eligible to return to practice and play at any point heading into the preseason, with Baltimore's first exhibition set for Aug. 12 versus the Eagles.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Underwent surgery
Ricard had offseason hip surgery and is expected to start training camp on the preseason PUP list, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Ricard appeared in all 17 games for the Ravens last season. Although best known for his blocking capabilities, he recorded a career-high seven rushing attempts for 16 yards last season, as well as 11 receptions on 13 targets for 64 yards, which were career highs as well. It's unknown if the veteran fullback is in danger of missing any of the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Targeted three times in loss
Ricard recorded two receptions for 15 yards on three targets in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Jaguars. Ricard remains one of the NFL's more heavily used fullbacks, as he's played at least 53 percent of the Ravens' offensive snaps in each of the team's 11 games to date. Despite the significant playing time, Ricard is rarely much more than a dump-off target or occasional short-yardage option for the Ravens on the occasions he's not blocking. He's carried five times for 14 yards and has 10 receptions for 74 yards on the season but has yet to find the end zone.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Goes untargeted in win
Ricard didn't draw a target while playing 39 of the Ravens' 61 offensive snaps in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Bengals. Though Ricard gained 20 yards across his four touches (one carry, three receptions) in last week's loss to the Bills, the Ravens didn't look to keep the fullback involved in Week 5. Ricard will continue to function mostly as a blocker while he's on the field, and he's unlikely to be a high-priority target for Lamar Jackson on the occasions that he runs routes.... See More ... Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Activated off reserve/COVID-19 list
Ricard (knee) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, returning to injured reserve. The fullback was placed on IR before being moved to the COVID list Thursday, forcing him to be away from the team during their Week 18 loss to the Steelers. Ricard will remain on IR heading into the 2022 offseason.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Placed on IR, moved to COVID list
Ricard (knee) was placed on injured reserve Thursday before being moved to the reserve/COVID-19 list. The fullback returned to action in Week 17 after missing three straight games with a knee injury, though now it appears he will end the season on IR once he clears league COVID protocols. Ricard will finish the 2021 season having played in 13 games while operating mostly as a run-blocking option for the Ravens. He did record a career-high 63 receiving yards on eight receptions, one of which was for a touchdown.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Making return to lineup
Ricard (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Raiders. After sitting out each of the Ravens' last three games, the fullback/defensive end turned in a pair of limited practices this week, which was ultimately enough for him to gain clearance to play. The 27-year-old is a critical member on all three of the Ravens' units, but he doesn't have much fantasy value while serving mainly as a blocker on offense. Over 12 appearances on the season, Ricard has picked up two carries and 13 targets.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Hopeful for Sunday
Ricard (back) had positive results from an MRI on Monday according to head coach John Harbaugh, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Ricard missed the Ravens' 24-22 loss to the Browns on Sunday with the injury. As the only fullback on the roster and a player who plays who's typically in on over half of the offensive snaps on a weekly basis, he's an important part of Baltimore's run- and pass-blocking schemes. Harbaugh added that he was "hopeful" that Ricard could return Sunday against the Packers.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Out Sunday
Ricard (back) is inactive for Sunday against the Browns, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Ricard's absence will have to lead to a change in approach for the Ravens on Sunday. With no direct backup to the heavily utilized fullback on the roster, the Ravens will likely look to deploy more six offensive-lineman formations. Tight ends Eric Tomlinson and Josh Oliver will also likely be looking at larger snap shares in Ricard's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Returns to practice
Ricard (back) was a limited participant in practice Friday and is considered questionable for Sunday against the Browns. Ricard missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, so it was a step in the right direction Friday. The Ravens don't currently have another fullback on their active roster, so it's unclear how they'll deploy their offense if Ricard is unable to play.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Misses practice Thursday
Ricard (back) didn't practice Thursday, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. Ricard was also unable to practice Wednesday, so his status for Sunday's game against the Browns figures to hinge on what he's able to do at practice Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Questionable with hip/foot injuries
Ricard (hip/foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns. Ricard's an integral piece of Baltimore's run-first offense, having played at least 50 percent of offensive snaps in all but one game this season. The fullback has six catches and two rushing attempts this season, so he spends most of his time blocking.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Catches first touchdown of 2021
Ricard caught three of five targets for 35 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Vikings. Ricard was a major factor Sunday as he recorded a 22-yard reception that tied for the longest Raven catch of the day and he capped off that same drive with a touchdown reception. He played over 60 percent of the offensive snaps for the fifth time this season, but this was the first time he has seen more than three targets. Ricard projects to maintain a role in the Ravens' offense, but it's unlikely that he will post fantasy-relevant production on a week-to-week basis.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Plays 42 snaps in Week 2
Ricard rushed one time for two yards during the Ravens 36-35 win over the Chiefs on Sunday night. Ricard registered only his second rushing attempt of his five-year career during Sunday's contest. However, he was held without a target against the Chiefs after catching two of his three targets in Week 1. The 27-year-old fullback still isn't a viable fantasy option in any format.... See More ...
